"Thanks." Vaith seemed uncomfortable with the praise, tussling his hair, the locks falling messily over the nape of his neck. He tipped his head back, as he considered how to answer Xiu's question, a frown tugging at his lips. He absent-mindedly reached out to stop the vocaloid minipet from slipping off with his music player, shaking his head.
"Ghouls look better in skirts. Shorts just don't look as good."
Xiu would be able to tell that this boil wasn't about flipping skirts. But when one looked at a ghoul, she was much cuter in a skirt than shorts. There was something about it. "When you wake up, dress in front of a mirror, doesn't a skirt just look better than shorts?" Vaith asked, leaning in closer to stare at Xiu with very serious regard to the question.
Quite seriously.
Besides, wasn't part of being a ghoul, was to learn how to battle in skirts? It was might have been a ridiculous standard but hey, it was a standard! "You can't tell me I'm the only boil who says skirts arent better. You've got those boils who've got a thing for you--- Didn't they say anything?" Roch's attentiveness toward Xiu during the horsemen incident couldn't be missed. At least, Vaith thought it was Roch. He really wasn't quite sure of the boil or his identity, other than a mild feeling. Sparrow and other boils came to help Xiu too.
Vaguely Vaith wondered why he was in line.

Wow, she had never known that that there was a whole thing about skirts vs. shorts! She finally dropped down from her crouch to kneel on the ground, folding her hands in her lap. A thoughtful expression spread over her face--brows slightly draw together, lips curved into a slight frown, and an inquisitive light in her eyes. She actually looked like she was thinking about this.
"Well, I do like skirts," Xiu answered finally, her expression lightening, "I still prefer skirts over pants--or shorts--yes, but when I'm planning to train, this seems most practical." Otherwise, she did usually an actual dress or something with a skirt when she went out. Though that being said...
"I never knew you took this topic so seriously, Vaith." The baku tilted her head at him, not knowing whether she should feel amused or surprised or what. His comment about boils who had a thing for her made her brows shoot up beneath her bangs, and then that puffed-cheek pout made an appearance again.
Boils who had a thing for her...r-really! "You mean the boils who are my friends and brothers?" At present, only one of her male friends was her officially her "brother", but it didn't seem as effective if she said that.

"Oh. I take it seriously. If us boils didn't voice an opinion, how would ghouls ever know what we like?" Vaith pointed out, an easy grin falling on his lips-- it seemed, since he turned into a knob, something had made the young boil even more carefree than usual. Even if the heaviness of recent events still hung over them.
"Really? What's your definition of friendly Xiu?"
That irritating grin made it's appearance again too. He shook his head, tugging the zipper of his high-necked turtle neck down, in a similarly casual fashion one might have taken off their scarf. "But that's a lot of brothers you have. I didn't kow they were related to you." Vaith thought of who might be Xiu's brother .. If they didnt have the same silver-white locks and a red outfit, it was likely that Vaith would have never guessed at a sibling.
But .. he also wasn't apprised to the fact.. Xiu didn't have real siblings.

...He had a point there, she would give him that. However, "Ghouls don't always change themselves for a boil, though," Xiu pointed out, reaching out to give him a light swat on the arm at that grin, "I'll keep the tip in mind, but only because I happen to like skirts, and not because that's what boils like." To be honest? Xiu wasn't even sure if she owned a pair of pants--she had a drawer full of dresses, skirts, and safety shorts, but no actual pants.
...Huh.
Something about the question made her flush (he wasn't implying anything, was he? Something about the way he worded it...), and she wracked her brain for a reply. "W-well! Friendly! You're...you're on good terms with that person, you get along...and you're just friends." Not the best definition to be sure, but it was all that the baku could come up with when she was put under the spotlight like that.
"And...n-no, we're not related, but they're like...adopted brothers! I look up to them, and they're like the cool older brothers that I never had." Again, "brothers" should have been singular, but she kept that to herself.

Vaith's answer was harmless. His tone, however, was .. Well, it didn't sound as final as his words. He sighed, his posture dropping back down to lie down at the base of the tree. However, this time, his arm gripped Xiu's, dragging her down in the grass alongside him.
"Take a nap. It's a lot better out here than inside the dorms." He pointed out, making himself comfortable on the grass. If both of them could take a nap together in his dorm room, outside wasn't a problem, right?

She was startled when she was suddenly pulled down on the grass, but she didn't resist--the grass was actually surprisingly comfortable. She couldn't recall the last time she tried sleeping outside, though maybe the change in setting would actually help her sleep a little better. That being said...
"...What should I do if I wake up to find you having porn dreams again?" For some, it would probably have been disconcerting to hear such a thing come from Xiu's lips. Her tone was extremely dry as she turned her head to look at the reaper, brows raised expectantly.
Come on, Vaith. Stop being so stubborn and let her do her job as a baku!

"True love's kiss?" Vaith suggested, almost flirtatiously, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He found Xiu's stolen word choice vastly amusing (although yes, it was disconcerting,) shaking his head in mirth. "It'll wake me up, that's for sure." He pointed out, every fiber of his being one hundred percent sure, it was an answer that would throw off the dream baku. And that she wouldn't take up on it-- The entire reason why Vaith could throw out the easy banter in the first place.
He turned his head to face Xiu, his hand covering his mouth to stifle a chuckle. "It's a great way to end a porn dream, don't you think?" He asked innocently.
Apparently, Xiu wasn't going to accomplish that.

True love's--what. Xiu stared back at him blankly, cheeks growing warm as that familiar pout crossed her face. Clearing her throat, she raised her brows and tried to look as composed as she could (though it was quickly shattered by her next words).
"Oh really? So...a kiss from Note?" She couldn't help but grin, her tail giving a little twitch behind her, "Vaith: the new sleeping beauty, and Note: the dashing prince." It took all her effort not to laugh at the mental image, and even then, a few giggles escaped her lips.
She stuck her tongue out at him at the question, reaching out to poke the reaper in the cheek. "Whatever you say, Vaith. I've never...uh. Dreamed about..." She trailed off awkwardly, and then cleared her throat, "So I'll take your word for it. I don't need details." The last part was added on hastily, the baku's pink eyes growing rounder and face growing redder at the thought. Please, in this case, sharing is not caring.
She would drop it. For now. But if she woke up while he was in the middle of a nightmare...
Well, for his sake, hopefully his slumber would be peaceful.
