Evie wasn't expecting Ellie's enthusiasm, especially for a bike. But she did file that away under something to remember since it was pretty much the first real thing she'd learned about her, besides the whole questionable leader thing.

Oh, and she carried around a picture to boot. That was... Evie wasn't sure. She wasn't a gearhead, and the most she thought when she saw a cool looking bike or a fancy car was 'Oh, that's cool.'

Something she was trying really hard not to say as she examined the picture. She will have a conversation, goddammit.

"Wow, this is what you use to get around?" She huffed in actual, genuine jealousy as she pushed the photo back to it's owner. "I have to borrow my dad's boring, beige minivan." Which wasn't terrible to drive with it's cushy warmed seats and fully automated everything, just lame.

That hint of jealousy was enough to make Ellie beam even more as she stuffed a bite of sandwich in her mouth. Her cheeks were flush, but that had everything to do with the sandwich and nothing to do with being embarrassed by the positive attention. Once she listened to the account for the minivan, she had managed to swallow down her food and reply without a display of gross mashed up gunk in her mouth.

"Well... when I got it, it was scrap metal essentially... a wreck t'say th'least... it was my first project... Finished it right before I turned 16. Started work on a car after that... still workin' on that actually... but a car is definitely a bigger project than a bike." She paused and grinned a moment before setting her sandwich to the side.

"I honestly prefer walkin' 'round, since there's so many ways that such a nice bike could get defaced... I ride it 'round, but not everywhere... I could easily give ya a ride if ya ever wanted though." If there was one joy that Ellie got out of her choice in vehicles, it was always showing it off in action.

"Oh, so you're into, like... vehicle restoration and stuff?" Evie asked, starting to feel remarkably uninteresting. What did she do in her spare time? Watch movies and feed her fish. Her beautiful fish, but she was sure no one really cared about that but her.

She was about to respond to the offer for a ride sometime in the undetermined future when her phone made it's designated text message noise. She pulled it out just enough to read it, but since it was just her sister asking why she wasn't home for dinner, she shoved it back in her pocket without replying.

"Well it'd be fun to arrive somewhere in style sometime," She joked, referencing back to that minivan of boring beigness.

Her head bobbed up and down in a subtle nod. "Yeah... always been inta that sort of stuff... since I was a kid. Plan t'get my own repair shop someday... right now I'm jus' gettin' th'experience of working in such a place before I go and get back t'school-thing." She had a very specific path she planned to follow for her life, and though many would say that going to school right after graduating was the best thing to do, it was not the best thing for Ellie to do. So far the only obstacle in that path of hers was in the form of a pastel rainbow colored pen that changed her life the moment she got it.

Indirectly, being a senshi was what got Ellie injured in such a manner. Though, she couldn't deny it anymore, it was the combination of being a senshi and being Ellie that had caused this particular injury.

So the mention of arriving a place in style got a chuckle, but the blonde had to pause from her lackluster meal to ball up her good hand and knock at the cast. It thunked in a nearly hollow manner. "Well... none of that's gonna be happenin' fer a while... Even after I get this thing off... I was told I'd probably need some therapy t'get back to workin' order... I mean, at least I'll be able t'go back t'work with this thing off... but even then... I won't be able t'do anything other than work on a cash register." It was boring under normal circumstances, but after this hell that came with wearing such an awkward cast, even such a bare basic occupation for the day seemed exciting.

"Oh... my condolences," Evie grimaced. But she wasn't thinking about how boring working the register was, but rather how infuriating it was to be at the front dealing with customers. Her place of work wasn't very efficient and sometimes she found herself behind the register after noticing no one showed up to work it.

She remembered something else they could be doing, though.

"Oh! So, hey, are you doing the food drive this season?" She asked, suddenly regaining her usual enthusiasm. "I think I have a flyer somewhere," And she went to digging around in her constantly there messenger bag.

Despite how lackluster her sandwich was, it was pretty much nearly gone with the way that Ellie ate. She only had a small corner left between her fingers as the other girl mentioned something.

"...Food drive, eh?" She commented casually with a small bit of food still in her mouth. The tomboy wasn't exactly the sort who was overly charitable. However, at the same time, she also wasn't the sort who was ridiculously greedy. So that put her in an odd place of indifference during this time of year.

"Lemme see th'flyer... and I'll figger it out from there... I guess..."

Evie happily produce the pristine flyer, saved from wrinkles in her careful planning of where everything went in the overstuffed bag. "I think it'd be easier to do as a group. I'm sure I can get what's-his-face the new guy in on it too."

She was interrupted by the text notification on her cell phone, again, and her enthusiasm was completely erased by annoyance, that only got worse when she read it.

She shifted so her side was to Ellie in a kind of 'I have to take this' kind of way, figuring Ellie was going to be looking over that flyer anyway, and dialed the sender.

"Because I'm not home," She hissed into the receiver and frowned as a young voice on the other end rambled on and complained. "Make it yourself... No... n-Don't..." The kid on the other end had interrupted Evie into silence, but she already started stuffing her bag of cookies into her messenger bag and generally packing it up.

She got up from her seat with a strained, "I gotta go. Bye," And turned into the phone mid stride to snap, "No, not you... None of your business." She barely took a step outside when she had apparently decided she was clear to raise her voice, and a "********, Dana, you're such a helpless brat," Was shouted and muted in the brief half a second it took for the door to close behind her.

The paper was taken from the girl's hand and given a quick look over. "...they gotta make a contest of everythin... don't they...?" When "the new guy" had been mentioned, Ellie idly corrected "Feliks." Once when he had been merely a clerk at a skater store, she could have cared less about his name. However, now they had something in common, so the least she could do was remember his name.

When her darker haired companion seemed to find herself completely invested in a phone call, the blonde just idly waved a hand, gesturing that she didn't have to worry.

It was only with the rushed departure that the tomboy seemed to find her face twitching around the corners of her mouth.

"...so ya drag me t'such a hippie dump... and then ditch me...?" Of course, her complaint came out of her lips when the girl was already nearly out the door cursing whoever the hell "Dana" was.

"...son ova b*tch..." With that, she hurried to get through the food so she could leave quickly too. Last thing she needed to do was catch the HIPPIE DISEASE.
