Vost hated the sound of the question the girl put to him. The thought of doing anything "with" the girl had never crossed his mind, and he was happy about that fact. A person should never be treated as property and vost hoped this girl would never be property again.

"I am not going to hurt you" Vost said calmly, his eyes looking into hers, "I am going to take you to my home, give you a room, a warm bed, food, and of course..." Vost hesitated a moment before continuing, the words heavy on his tongue "your freedom." Vost smiled and held his hand out a little further to the girl, hoping she would take it.

The words were heavy not because they were difficult to say or because he did not want to say them, but because for some reason, vost feared she would simply leave. There was somthing about this girl, and he did not want her to leave.

Vost smiled as the girl put her hand in his, his fingers lacing around hers, so smooth, he thought. Pulling her closer to him he took off his cloak and draped it over her scantily clad body, wrapping it around her and tying it shut. Vost then put his left arm arm across her back. With his right hand he pointed toward the house and gently pressed his left arm against her back and began to move toward the house. she didn't run... she didn't run.

Smiling down at the girl as they began to move toward the house vost explained "Yes, a gathering of prominent members of the community", he said with a sigh, "incredibly boring but necessary to maintain order". The smile disappearing from his face, Vost continued, "I am afraid you are not seeing Nor at it's best, war is coming."

As they reached the house vost led the girl to a side door so they could avoid the crowd and the many questions associated with a crowd. Vost took her upstairs and stopped at a doorway.

"This will be your room," He said, Opening the door and ushering her in. "I hope it will do"

"There are some of my Sister's things in the dresser, they should fit you if you would like to change into somthing." Vost hesitated for a moment, smiling "Warmer".

An awkward tension tugged at Vost's mind. He had no idea who this woman was but for some reason he has invited her into his house and given her his sister's room. She would have wanted it this way. Vost's father will surely give him a tongue lashing later, but hopefully he will understand after Vost explains the circumstances of the girl's arrival. she wouldn't want her room to go unused. Thinking about his sister made Vost sigh.

Turning to face the girl again, Vost smiled "May i know your name?"

Vost's jaw dropped slightly as the woman changed infront of him... chivalry telling him to turn away, but he did not listen... ....wow....

"M..." Vost cleared his throat "My name is Vost, and it is my pleasure to have you here with us." Answering her smile with one of his own, Vost moved to the door

By that time most of the people had begun to leave and the house was emptying

"Would you like something to eat?" Vost said, "The cook has gone home but I can probably fix you somthing."

Vost immediately regretted not looking away, she probably saw him looking and would most certainly get the wrong idea of his intentions. Vost had never seen a naked woman before, there has not been time in his life for things of that nature, and curiosity had gotten the better of him. He was not prepared for her lack of discretion and would be ready in the future. Women in Nor simply did not act like that, Rei must not be from Nor.

Smiling, Vost responded "Would please me? Yes, it would please me if you did not die of hunger..." Vost laughed "I don't want to be your master Rei, I want to be your friend". Vost opened the door "Please come with me, We'll find you something to eat."

Vost guided Rei downstairs to the kitchen, taking her hand in his and leading her through the house. The kitchen was a small room as compared to the rest of the house but it was brimming with cooking utensils and equipment. Vost sighed as he entered the room, the warmth and smell of it relaxing him.

Vost rolled his eyes at rei when she referred to him as her master, taking a bowl from a shelf "Your master demands to know whether you want chili or pork-chop soup," he laughed, looking into her eyes for a split second before turning to head for the pantry.

"What difference does your slave-like employment make to whether or not I want you as a friend?" Vost questioned "I am always looking for new friends, especially those as beautiful as you." Smiling, he arrived at the pantry, opened it, and looked at rei, "So, What'll it be?"

Smiling, Vost filled the bowl infront of Rei with some warm chili. "Excellent choice by the way, Robert, our chef, is known throughout this land for his chili." Vost walked around to the other side of the table and sat down with a piece of bread which he slowly munched on. Smiling at Rei and watching her eat.

"Ah but there is where you are wrong, I may be a noble, but you are no longer a slave," He said, the words happily spilling from his mouth. "I release you from my service." he continued "What you do now is totally up to you. You can stay here for as long as you would like, or you could leave, but I would not recommend that."

Vost jumped at Rei's yelp, "Yeah sorry, should have warned you it was still hot," Vost brought Rei a glass of water (no ice) "Here, that should help with the new burn on the roof of your mouth," and returned to his side of the table.

"As of this moment you are free, the only people who knew of your slavery was your last boss and me." Vost said, looking intensely into her eyes "And never let anyone tell you different."

Waiting a moment, Vost looked back at Rei "As for leaving, All roads out of Nor are currently under the control of the Victi military." Sighing, Vost continued "You could try a wilderness path but I would not recommend it." Vost stood an sighed again "They are preparing for an attack, but we do not know when it will come. You are as safe here as you can be tonight." Vost stood and walked to the kitchen doorway "Will you be alright finding you way back to your bedroom? I will be in tomorrow morning to show you around the estate and introduce you to the family, I hope to see you then."
