Muka snickered and took the bags for her. "You can get the shoes? We are getting shoes for these clothes, correct?" He offered his arm for her again and led the way back out into the mall. There wasn't a shoe store in sight quite yet so they would have to walk. "So no kissing.." He tried, awkwardly, to make a kissing face but the boil was not quite used to having lips. He was used to having a beak so his movements were comically over exaggerated. "Hand holding? Other... couple things?" He was definitely curious as to the emotional progression from friend to dating. Strangely he was very calm and academic about his questioning. "I have one of those.. machines." He made a motion like he was holding a controller. "I am very bad at them but my father felt that all boils should have them to fit in." He giggled as if this was a highly amusing anecdote. "Have you talked to him? About the uhh.. feelings?"

Edel felt very bad about being spoilt by Muka and his kind generosity. The frost demon gave the strix a very firm look and answered, “Yes, please.” She was very adamant about spending her own money her Father's money and not leeching off Muka. Because, Manners.
The ghoul would take his arm again as they walked through the maul in search of their next stop. By then Edel was quite resigned to the fact that Muka was going to pry deeper into her very-slow-and-budding-relationship, and she would just have to answer because 1. the boil was such a great talker and 2. she was now feeling very obliged to.
Edel eyed Muka a little curiously as she watched him pucker up his lips. “No...no that's a little... early, too early,” what, they've only gone so far as to hug but even then that was because of the extremely nerve-wracking circumstances of the field trip and and -
Right. They've held hands before. To encourage each other only, don't mind, she reminded herself.
“We've had... very little physical contact,” Lies, what about what happened in Nurse Cricket's office? “In normal circumstances” she seeked to clarify. It didn't really sound much better. “But we have held hands... and hugged .... as friends ...” her glance shot down to her hand in his arm before returning to the strix's face, “As how we are are now? Arm in arm?” To be honest, even Edel didn't know how platonic those affectionate actions were at that time. She was pretty confused about it herself.
The ghoul nodded understandingly as Muka explained how he was in possession of a scarestation – though it seemed that like her, he barely had much experience with it.
“Uh....no.... not yet” it then dawned upon her that she had never asked Moure about what exactly was going on between them. She'd like to believe that there was some form of mutual affection... but ....
“I should, shouldn't I?” The ghoul began to recall the incident with Danny – while it was true that there was nothing going on between Moure and Danny (or at least, Moure didn't fancy her in that way), it could also be true that the patchwork boil was just that friendly with the ghouls he knew. Why else would a ghoul like Danny be allowed to so comfortably roll around in his bed? (Edel obviously didn't know that was a Danny thing) That's right, the two of them had never gone beyond seemingly platonic acts of kindness and crossed into the territory of “being in a relationship.”
A cold draught hung in the air around the ghoul. Ah, so cold, so cold, she thought as she stared into space balefully.

Hmmm too early for kissing. Muka pondered the increasing complications of the reality of teenage courtship. How did you know when it was the right time for kissing? Holding hands? "Is this innappropriate?" Muka hooted worriedly about their arm in arm pose. "Am I going to make someone jealous? I am not quite sure always if what I am doing is considered taboo." The strix giggled but despite his 'worry' he didn't seem to act it. He obviously had a bit of an emotional divide between himself and other people. Something there just didn't click for him. When the ghoul inquired about telling Moure he bobbled his head in excited agreement. "I think so. Or hint it.. maybe invite him out? Dinner or a walk?" He'd seen those things on skeevee and in magazines. "You will never move along if you don't try! ALWAYS TRY!" He proclaimed it loudly, triumphantly in the maul. A group of giggling scareling ghouls, no older than 10, pointed at him and then went back to their schemings together. Up a hexcalator and around a fountain (demons stabbing cherubs who spurted blood up in the air in exciting arcs) and there was 'DEMON'S MARK' a shoe store carrying the shoe line of famous designer Mark Jerkobs. The shoes were flashy, expensive and mind blowing. "Oooooooo..." Muka was eyeing a pair of men's wing tips.. made from real wings!

Edel stared at their linked arms for quite a while before coming up with a response. “Hm, possibly. But this, don't worry about it.” At least for her, a man or a boil offering his arm was common practice.
“An arm around the waist though,” she stared at him with a mock reproachful look, “perhaps not too appropriate for a non-dating couple.” Ah yes, Edel knew that Muka was quite the forward type when it came to showing his affection (though not romantic). Knowing him, his feelings towards every ghoul he had taken her hand and kissed were mostly platonic, but others might be quick to get the wrong idea. She guessed she could do her best by kindly informing him if/when he was crossing the line... though she felt a little bad and worried that it might hurt the strix's feelings.
Just as she was lost in thought about that, Muka's sudden proclamation jolted the ghoul out of her thoughts and caused her to blush quite furiously upon noticing that they've attracted the attention of a few little ghouls. “Dinner perhaps....” she mused thoughtfully, having in mind something totally different. A Scario Kart appointment would be a go, but the ghoul was starting to wonder if it was a little too .... unromantic.
Up the hexcalator they went and Edel didn't miss the glint in Muka's eyes as he zoomed into Demon Marks. The strix really did love fashion.
“You should try them on perhaps, I think they'll look great on you.” Her eyes glanced down the shelves of the store, looking for a colour that might suit the strix's palette. “These maybe?” she suggested, unsure of Muka's tastes and preferences.

"Ahhh okay." Muka's head bobbled as he observed his own posture and noted her advice. He was very grateful to know what was okay and what was not. he had problems with that some times and he trusted Edel to give him the proper advice. "Well Chrismastival is coming up. Perhaps a nice meal for the holiday celebration? Or maybe afterwards? Perhaps you could get him a small trinket?" The strix always thought that buying gifts was a foolproof plan. Perhaps it was a standard set by his father? "Oooooo.." He hopped around the shoes on the display, head bobbling happily. "I think I will try them on!" He took a box in his size and sat down. There was a very annoyed looking demon ghoul working there whom he had waved off completely. "Oh edel.. look at those. They just scream your name!" nevermind that she would be even taller in the sky-high blue heels but something about the gems said they were made for her. Zyphiris Sorry this took so long ;___;

Edel's eyebrows perked up at Muka's suggestion, turning her head to look at said pair of shoes. Ah, were those a pretty pair of heels. The frost demon gave a sheepish look at the demon ghoul working there and gingerly picked the pair up to try them on. They were a perfect fit! Edel straightened herself out and took a brief overall look around the store – she was feeling very, very tall (even more than she already did for a ghoul standing at 178cm).
She should try walking in those shouldn't she? The clacking sound of heels hitting the floor sounded throughout the store as the ghoul strutted her stuff. Like a professional model. And in that dress, yes. The frost demon spun around and walked back towards the strix, bending down to pick up her dress just enough so that the shoes could be seen. “How do they look?” she asked, a little nervously.
Just on the other end of the shelf, another pair of shoes caught the ghoul's attention. “Mmm, how about those ?” she asked and pointed, sounding a little worried about her choice. Really, she wasn't the expert here.

"Oh yes! Those!" She'd picked up some brown and turquise sandals that he thought would look great with one of the dresses he'd snuck into her bag. "They will match." Muka nodded emphatically but never specified exactly what they would match with. He then went back to admiring the pair of shoes he was trying on. They seemed to fit snugly so he got up and jumped a bit in them. He then proceeded to walk swiftly around the store and even paused to perch on the back of a chair. he was getting some odd looks but the attendant seemed unphased. She was glad he wasn't oozing on them... like other customers had a tendency to do. Once the strix was satisfied that the men's shoes would survive his lifestyle he nodded to no one in particular and changed out of them, putting them back into the box. "You should get one more pair." He giggled to Edel and let his eyes trail over the selection.

Match...? the ghoul wondered lightheadedly, trying to picture which of those tops and the pants would go with those shoes. Clearly, she was still in the dark about those dresses Muka snuck in. Edel let that though drift by and she stopped her browsing to look at the strix test out that pair of shoes. All the while, the frost demon simply nodded in approval, despite Muka's rather odd antics. What? She was glad he liked those shoes.
“Hmmm” Edel murmured, walking down the row once more and stopping to stare at a pair of gold and silver heels. She liked those. Kinda...really liked those. The frost demon spun around to look at Muka brightly. With sparkles in her eyes. Hands clasped together. A cute-stupid grin plastered on her face. She didn't say a word though.

Muka giggled at her pose but waved his hands. "Oh not like that!" Too cutesy! Soon she'd be talking about glitter and rainbows! He did approve of the shoes though. "I like them! Very classy.." He chittered and bobbled his head excitedly. "I think you should get one more. Some sneakers or flats perhaps? For casual and lounging!" He paced in front of the casual shoes and pointed out several pairs. Flats and sneakers were mostly the same, blue or silver or white.. not much design. She could always go for the classic sneaker look as well! While she browsed and chose he picked some more shoes for himself. A pair of dress shoes (another?!) and a pair of sneakers which he would probably only wear for school physical activities.

Ahah, Muka was reminding her of some proper manners now. The ghoul wiped most of the silly grin off her face and straightened herself up, holding herself like a proper lady should. She was pleased that he approved of her choice though.
The ghoul followed the strix to where the more casual footwear was, inspecting the lot as they went by. She wasn't too used to wearing shoes that were not heels asides from her bedtime slippers, but Edel was willing to give anything a try. “Ooh, I do like that pair there,” she whispered, walking over to look at the pair of Converses. Definitely something she hasn't worn before, but it looked pretty neat.
“Does it go with the pants we got though?” she questioned, tilting her head towards the strix. Well, she could still wear them under those long dresses where no one could see, but that wasn't really the point was it?

"Even if it doesn't..." Muka snickered. "You can just go out later and buy pants that do match!" He was always a fan of more shopping! "Plus that Moure fellow sounds like an active type. Sneakers may be helpful in the future." He was moving to the counter to pay for his own shoes. The demonic attendant looked like she had been trying to take her own picture with her skellyphone, but scrambled to look busy when he approached.

More shopping. It was such a simple solution. Edel nodded in agreement and was a little stunned to find how Muka's words were so true. The frost demon stared at the pair of converses in her hands and recalled how Moure was certainly of the more active type.
Edel might have panicked a little when she saw the strix moving to the counter to pay up. She certainly wouldn't stand for it if he were to pay for everything again, plus, it was her turn to pay! The ghoul rushed to the counter and intercepted Muka, pulling out her deadit card before he could do so.
“Please, may I?” she smiled weakly at the strix. Really, he shouldn't be spoiling her anymore now.

Muka snickered but put his card away. He was only going to buy his own shoes this time but an exchange of gifted fashion was never a waste. "If you insist!" The strix waited patiently, though his version of 'patient' was to stare at the cashier without blinking and clack his teeth hungrily in her direction. She grew increasingly uneasy and by the time the transaction was finished she practically threw the bags at both of them. Muka hissed a bit on the way out, Edel on his arm, "A bit rude hmm?"

Edel felt a sense of relief when Muka obliged and the ghoul happily paid up for the purchases. For some reason, the cashier seemed to be very tense , and the ghoul wondered if it was her. The frost demon blinked at the ghoul twice but solicited no response. Curious, Edel turned around and ah-
The next thing she knew were that the bags were being thrown at them.
“I'm afraid you might have frightened her with your overwhelming charm,” she teased, laughing on their way out. “Where to next? Some clothes for you too?”

"I am thinking perhaps.." Muka's head turned aaaaalll the way around to stare at the attendant as they walked out of the store. He didn't need to but maybe he enjoyed weirding her out a bit. "..perhaps I should get some active wear. For gym activities. Perhaps a swim suit?" For the lake, obviously. Owl bathing was all well and good but once he turned back to a boil he just ended up with wet clothes. "I don't know much about casual clothing." This was his usual, and thus casual, style. "Any suggestions?"
