Shun quickly moved out of the way of her strike before pausing at her words.
"There will come a time, yes. Those weren't it. Do you seriously expect me to just stand by doing nothing when I am around? The hunters are not to be trifled with. There is little to no honor in battle against them. Why leave Mitsu to her own devices when I can do something about it? Should I have just left her at 'crush their heads in your jaws' and leave her alone before she can properly defend herself?"
His eyes narrowed as he shifted in to make a wide slash at Hel.
"If so perhaps we were wrong to rush to your aid when you were fighting that boo then. I apologize for the three of us to have coddled you then."

Hel easily sailed over the next slash from Shun, making another exasperated sound.
“Boils.” She spat. “Always so narrow minded! Of course I don’t expect you to stand by! That’s the most foolish idea ever!” From the air, the reaper dove at Shun, her spear outstretched, pleased to see it hit its mark this time again. “I am sure as well there will come a time where battle will be unavoidable, whether we are on the same level as those false reapers or not. I will not go down without a fight, and neither should any of us if forced into that situation!” After striking him, the ghoul climbed into the air a bit more.
“This fieldtrip…recent events…as terrible as they have been, they are enlightening as well. We all need to train…everyone needs to be pushed! To make sure my friends have a chance, I will do what I can as well…even if that means being an antagonist.” At Shun’s next statement, the reaper blinked, and then laughed. “Honestly? I was rather touched that you all came to my aid…though I didn’t see you, friend, did you get lost, hm? Still, it’s the thought that counts.” She laughed again. “Shun, that is no where near coddling and you know it. I don’t need to be pushed to defend myself.”

The Reaper let out a hiss as the spear bit into his flesh, but he managed to hold his ground in the meantime.
"Mitsu will not go down without a fight either. When the battle came, she fought on her own will, with everyone else. And for the record, against the master hunter? She was first to strike him between the two of us," he sneered before jumping up to try and stab into Hel's leg from below.
"And stop acting like I hadn't been preparing her. I haven't just been teaching self defense. I've also sparred her. Pushed her. She was reluctant to strike me but in the end, she nearly defeated me. And guess what? I did it without the malice and venom that you only seem to be able to spew!"

Shun’s jump to get at her legs worked, as she felt the daggers slice along the backs of her legs, unprotected by the greaves she wore. Hel climbed higher, readying her spear to take another dive at him. “Oh ho? So you finally are working more with her now?” Being caught up in her own matters, Hel was sadly unaware of anything else anyone had been doing, but she was glad to hear that Mitsu was getting a lot more practice in since their battle. “Good, Shun. It’s about time.”
The ghoul then dived at him, her spear outstretched, and once she made her pass she climbed back up into the air, giving another short laugh. “My malice and venom, eh?” She echoed. “That’s because we’re two different beings, Shun. How you approach Mitsu would not get the same results if I were to try! So if I have to spew malice and venom to make sure she’s a capable fighter, than so be it!”

"Yes. I've been working with her. Which is why I said to stop going on about things you don't know," Shun hissed. It was annoying to be nagged about 'not doing things' when he was. After taking another small slice, he stared up at Hel and narrowed his eyes. Those wings were being a bit troublesome and he didn't want to have to keep jumping to strike her. That would quickly wear him down.
So he disappeared, leaving a few smoky wisps behind. He reappeared in several places around Hel, slashing out at various body parts before landing a small distance away. It wasn't as effective as he'd like, but he found that aiming in midair was a little trickier than if she had been on the ground.
"You also say you wouldn't have gotten the same results. Have you even tried?" he asked, letting out a breath.

As Shun disappeared from sight, Hel was immediately on guard. She knew that meant trouble, and the feeling was right as she felt herself get hit from multiple directions. While it caused the valkyrie to lose some altitude, it was no where near enough to knock her out of the sky. As the grim reappeared, the ghoul lashed out at him with her spear.
“A calm, gentle, but firm approach? Yes, I did!” Hel replied. “But her gaze kept sweeping to the door, and I do believe she would have fled if I didn’t block her path.”

Soon after he had landed, Shun rolled to the side to avoid getting hit too hard. He let out a hiss though, as he felt the blade slice against the back of his neck as he did so. That was going to sting for awhile. Once he came out of the roll, he leaped up once more, slashing for her midsection with one of his daggers.
"She shouldn't have been so nervous in that case. Mitsu had made no attempts to flee against me," he said as he landed, "All in all, you did more harm than good. She blamed herself for what happened to me and perhaps she still does. But what happened there had nothing to do with her ability to fight or my willingness to protect her."
His tone, while agitated, still sounded relatively neutral. For the most part, he was really annoyed with what Hel was saying.

Hel’s mid section was rather unprotected in comparison to the rest of her body, so Shun’s strike was pretty effective. The reaper hissed as it met its mark, and it effectively grounded her for the time being. Hel twirled her spear then and slammed it against the ground, casting a spell as she pointed a finger at the grim reaper and unleashed her FEAR attack upon him.
“I can’t say that’s a bad thing, friend.” Hel disagreed after she was done focusing on her spell. “I think now she’ll be more motivated than ever to protect you. But that I can agree with…what happened as beyond anything any of us could control…Tch. It angers me, Shun…what are we here for?”

Shun let out another breath. He wasn't so sure how long he could keep jumping around like this. There wasn't anything around he could help launch himself too. The school could use more things that lended to free running.
Seriously.
As he was hit with the spell, the Reaper staggered for a moment. It didn't hurt, but it was disorienting. It made him feel more tired. Shaking his head to try and get rid of the sensation, he looked back at the Valkyrie. He was doing what he could to ignore the sluggish feeling his body was now experiencing, but it wasn't easy.
"Maybe. But indeed, there is far more to this than what we can control... The recent incident proved that far too well," he murmured before moving forth to lash at her with his left dagger while she was grounded.
"I don't know why you're here, but I was put in this school to grow stronger. To become something that wouldn't bring disappointment. Because he had given up on trying," he hissed lowly. His tone held a fair amount of bitterness to it as he said that.

Hel was pleased to see her attack work rather well, grimacing once more as Shun landed another hit regardless though.
“I don’t like it. I don’t like it at all.” That was a sentiment shared by many others she was sure, though. The ghoul lunged at the drowsy grim reaper, slashing at him, and then quickly pulled back, her brows furrowing. “…You’re…not here because you want to be…?”

Shun grunted as the next blow from Hel cut into him pretty deftly. He was slowing down, and not just because of the lingering effect from her spell. He could feel it, and that last strike helped prove that fact too. If possible, he needed to try and end this quick. Letting out a breath, he paused as a few drops of blood hit the ground from the last strike.
"Coming here was not by my own will, no. Though, I would rather be here anyway," he replied before rushing forth to try and keep close. He started to feint an attack with his left, but then struck out for her arm with his right.

Shun wasn’t the only one slowing down. Hel was as well, as much as she didn’t want to admit it. Damn…for a good portion though, it seemed she was blow for blow with the grim, just like last time.
Hel’s brows furrowed more as Shun explained more of his reasons for being here. “…Family…?” She questioned, wincing once more as his dagger effectively sliced into her arm. Damn it, she needed to stop getting distracted!

"That is technically the correct term for him, yes," Shun muttered. Feeling another light hit, he gritted his teeth while trying not to think too hard of the bitterness he felt right now. He tried to keep close to Hel, and slashed out once more, but he missed his mark.
"However, he does not quite live up to the usual meaning for what it implies."

Hel was able to veer to the side this time, dodging Shun’s strike.
She seemed troubled now, but Shun’s description of family. “…Ah…I see. I am sorry to hear that, friend.” Despite how her sister or her other sisters may fight or wear on her nerves…she knew they’d be there for her…they didn’t send her off because they thought she was weak…she left because she wanted to. The ghoul swung out at the grim reaper, but…ended up missing him completely.

"There is nothing to apologize for," Shun said simply before rolling under Hel's strike. As he came out of the roll, he lunged out with both blades into a sort of cross-slash, aiming to end this battle now.
"I likely would not be the same person had I been raised differently. Good or bad, it's just how it is."
