Keeping his hands into his pockets, Shun waited and watched Roch once again. He was more accurate this time around. The guy still needed some work, but he did a lot better. Five feet off was a big improvement over thirty or so feet.
"Better," he said, "Now try again once you're ready. Actually. First. Move five feet forward, then try again."

Roch nodded, taking five steps, or so, then turning and looking at the dagger again. He took a step forward--
And nothing happened. "How long was it between trips?" he asked, sitting down. His heart was beating hard against his chest, even though he hadn't thought it was much. "This takes a bit out of you?" he said, leaning back on his hands and looking at the other reaper. "But I could see where it would come in handy, if I can get it down."

"It's about three minutes between each one. That's more or less the same as where I was," Shun replied. He felt like he was starting to be able to do it more often personally, but he wasn't quite sure yet. The reaper hadn't really had a chance to push himself on that front.
"But yes, doing it relatively consistently will drain your FEAR, especially if you aren't used to doing it. Once you get your accuracy up, it'll be good to work on your reflexes. Then you'll be able to avoid some attacks you might not normally be able to dodge."

"Or prank people," Roch said, grinning. "Man, that's gonna be SO handy! If you time it right, you'll NEVER get caught." He fell back, grinning like a moron as he took in exactly what he could do now. "This blows sensing ghosts out of the jackin' WATER, man! And it's not even a FEAR ability that you can only use in the gym or private!"

Prank people. Shun wasn't sure how to feel about that. Right now he was basically imagining Roch pulling off what Charlie attempted to do to him the other day. Ding dong ditch. It seemed... like a waste of the ability in his eyes.
"I didn't agree to work with you on this so you could mess with people like that," he frowned.

"What, so you won't agree to help me if I decide Johnny Danger needs a wedgie once in a while for being such a d**k?" Roch asked. "Of course, most of the time I'll be using it in battles in the gym, or on the so-called field trips against those jackin' hunters, but since you don't agree with the stupid stuff I'll be doing alongside all that, I'm on my own?"
He laughed. It was an honest laugh, one that came from his very lack of a soul. "Sure, okay, that's fine," he said, getting to his feet. "I think I can figure it out now."

"...Johnny Danger?"
Wasn't that some rock star? Why the hell would Roch want to mess with him of all people? Or how for that matter? Right now, he was imagining the punk Reaper crashing a concert just to give the star a wedgie.
Shun wasn't quite so aware that JD was now enrolled at the school.
Whatever. In any case, he had to decide if he was going to continue working with Roch. The idea of abusing the shadow step like that was not one he enjoyed. But when it really came down to it, he didn't really give too much of a damn.
"To be honest. I don't care that much. But you've got something coming if I find you pulling s**t on me or on a few choice people."

"Xiu and Mitsu are out, unless it's dropping off a gift or somethin--for Xiu, not Mitsu so much, Mot I'll probably tease once in a while, Charlie I'll definitely tease, Jove I'll probably tease--he took a MASSIVE bite out of my leg the other day, but nothin' that'd hurt'em," he listed.
"Herryk I'll give HELL, Johnny Danger I'll give hell, and Sparrow, I'll definitely give Sparrow a hard time," he said with a grin. "So if any of those three are on your list--"

Herryk and Sparrow? He knew the big draugr and he was introduced to Sparrow but he didn't know much of them. The Reaper wasn't close to any of them in the slightest.
"I don't really give much of a damn about those three," Shun shrugged. It seemed like he wouldn't have to come after Roch then. Thinking for a moment, he nodded.
"I suppose it might work for training as well. See if you can get away with it without receiving a fist to your face as a result."

"Sounds good to me," Roch said cheerfully. Too bad about the three minute wait, though, I'll have to time it right." He got up. "But I think I can do it again now!" he said, stretching.
Then he disappeared, leaving the little wisp of smoke behind him and appearing a few feet left of the dagger. "Hmm..." he said, turning to look at it.

Still holding onto his second dagger, Shun was thinking of a way he might be able to push Roch's limits a bit more than just having him go to a static location.
"Looks like you're getting the hang of it. I've something else for you to do once you're ready again," he said before going ahead to elaborate, "I'm going to throw my dagger. I want you to gauge where it will land and teleport there."
It was a challenge. But perhaps he would be up for it.

"And land where the dagger's supposed to hit?" Roch asked, snorting. "I got a better idea," he said, digging through his pockets. He pulled out a rubber ball, squeaking it once. "I got this for Clef today, he chewed up the old one. Will this work?"

Shun stared at the ball and let out a sigh.
"Yes. That will do," he said before holding out his hand to take it. He still preferred to launch his dagger, as the extra danger would hopefully help Roch in making sure he didn't mess up lest he ended up getting cut. It seemed that he still had a little bit of a trial by fire mentality when it came to training at times.
The ball would work as well, though.

"The dagger thing can wait till I have SOME idea what I'm doing," Roch said with a shrug, tossing over the ball. "But gimme a minute," Roch added, glancing at his watch. "Gotta time this."
He waited until the new minute started before going, "Ready!" he said, striking a running pose.

"Very well," Shun shrugged at the dagger comment. Catching the ball, he tossed it up for the moment while waiting for Roch to get ready. Without giving any sort of signal, he threw it ahead.
Time to see how well he'd do with this.
