((Thank god for some luck, at least, because I think the dice gods are disapproving of me ever landing a 2 4-sided die successful attack at you in general. XD))
This time, the sound of the speaking Rattata was enough to rouse him. Fluttering his eyes wearily, Trist looked around, wondering what had happened.

The attack was certainly enough to get Trist awake. Alarmed, he kicked out with Double Kick without waiting to listen for Mina.

Mina, glad to see Trist awake again, cried, "Try to confuse it, Trist! Use Psybeam!"
Trist, now aware of his surrounds after the next crunch, paused his next round of kicking when he heard Mina. Sucking in a breath, he released waves of psychic beams towards the Rattata.

The lights were pretty, he'd give them that, but they weren't exactly effective. Lunging foward again, Gangrel opened wide.

"Try it again; don't let up until he's running circles!" Mina called.
Trist saw the attack coming this time, and he lifted a leg to avoid the attack, aiming another Psybeam as he did so.

Gangrel stumbled around, looking like an even bigger fool than usual. A rock materialized, and flew up into the sky before falling down. Unfortunately, that 'down' was equivalent to 'on Gangrel's face'.

Mina breathed a sigh of relief. There was a chance for them both now.
"Good job, Trist! Now use Double Kick!"
Trist grunted softly in response to the talkative Rattata. The latest show of Rock Smash proved his confusion had work, and he was at least somewhat pleased.
Turning his hindquarters in the Rattata's direction, he kicked out.

Gangrel was blasted back by the double kick, and staggered to his feet. Looking up at the girafarig with unsteady blue eyes, charging up an ice beam. As he opened his mouth to fire it, however, he closed it for no reason whatsoever, giving himself the most god awful case of brain freeze ever felt.
Walpurgis gaped at what had happened while he fidgeted with his strategy being destroyed. The loss was his fault - he grew unsure, and Gangrel felt that. Walpurgis knew this to be true.
Returning Gangrel to his pokeball, he regarded the trainer and girafarig with respect. Bowing grandly, he thanked them for the match and left. As he passed the threshold of the door, he whispered to himself.
"I'll get stronger. I can't just let my pokemon grow, I've got to grow with them. That loss could have been avoided if I had a counter strategy, but instead I froze up. That won't happen again, this I swear."

Taken back by the unexpected bow, Mina hurriedly returned one of her own, along with a thank you. The battle's end had come suddenly, and it took her a moment longer to recall Trist as well as the field reverted back to normal. Then she, too, made her leave, patting Trist's ball appreciatively as she did so.
