As the address was whispered in her ear, her whiskers twitched slightly. It mostly had to do with how close the kitten was, her whiskers easily being poked a bit by the proximity of Hypnos' fluffy cheeks.
"Oh, that isn't all that bad at all... just need to take a shortcut through the park, then it will be easy peasy!" ********* trotted forward, her collar jingling as she proceeded, before casually glancing back and offering a cheerful "Follow me!"
Due to the presence of the younger feline, the manx continued along the sidewalk until they found a cross walk. There were a few people there already. One was a teenager with ear buds in, rocking out to whatever was playing on his iPhone. The other two were an elderly couple holding hands, wrinkled after having many good years together. Elderly people were tricky because it was hard to tell if they could hear well or not. So the manx (along with the kitten) would need to wait in silence for the cross walk light to change in their favor.

Hypnos was relieved when she heard that 'it wasn't that bad at all' and by the time the two of them had reached the side walk, Hypnos had noticed something. Well, for one, the headphone cord was mildly distracting as the teenager rocked out. Hypnos took a step toward the boy before changing her mind very quickly, rushing to ********* other side so she wouldn't be tempted as much. She just wanted to play with him so badly but she knew, she knew she couldn't. She didn't want to have an encore of earlier. Instead she looked for a distraction. It helped that there was a cute elderly couple there as well and Hypnos had decided to put all her might into looking at them instead.
I know them, she thought. Wait, she knew them!
They were one of the elderly couples that lived in her neighbourhood. Did that mean she had really been that close to home? She looked around expectantly, but nothing stuck out from this angle. Maybe they were further from their home than she had assumed they'd be. It wasn't entirely unlikely that people would go for a walk to the grocery store or even just to enjoy the fair weather. It was probably good for their bodies.

When the light changed, everyone crossed. ********* glanced to the kitten next to her, holding back for a moment before getting up and trotting forward. There was a reasonably quick pace to her movement, somewhere between a trot and a run. It probably had everything to do with the fact that cats weren't as easy to see in a crosswalk, so they needed to cross quickly before any impatient motorists decided to roll through the crosswalk.
********* made it to the other side and glanced to locate Hypnos, trying to make certain she was also safe. She was still in the company of the elderly couple, who needed to cross the street again in the other direction, so her maw was closed shut, keeping her silence for now.

The boy with the headphones had disappeared from Hypnos' sight after they'd crossed the street but the elderly couple was still there. The kitten felt uneasy in the silence but Hypnos understood the idea: it wouldn't be a good idea to be overheard talking since they were cats. Oh, that thought was still so odd! She was a cat, and talking was not something she should do. She couldn't talk, she couldn't sing and even waiting here in silence was proving to be difficult.
Ooooooh, it was like the detention she'd never had! Maybe it was like the long card ride she never had. Are we there yet? Are we there yet? ARE WE THERE YET? She knew they weren't there yet, she'd be able to recognize her home (or at least she hoped she would be) and she couldn't see it yet. She wanted to say something, anything but inside she was stubborn. Inside she knew that she must not talk with people around to hear her. If Hypnos was a little bit older she might have compared this feeling to the feeling of women in the 1900s. Or maybe not. Her reason for not talking was a lot better than theirs!

Since the kitten had made it across safely, the manx let out a convincing trill of a mewing sound. With that, she led the way down the pathway, leaving the elderly couple to their own tasks for the day. It was only once the furry pair were out of an ear's shot that the manx spoke up.
"Oh goodness! The elderly always make it difficult on me to decide whether or not I should talk... Anyways... we have to continue on for a bit before we hit the park, but at least we don't need to cross the street until after cutting through the park."
Even from where they were walking from at that very moment, the park was within view on the same side of the road as them. It did take up a decent span of land, which was probably why so many senshi ended up coming her on a frequent basis.
