Mort peered at the blue-black option and, after a while, nodded a little. "Kinda likes if made for you!" he said with a smile as he picked up a green model. "If want new color later, can get skins for eyePhone too." Mort knew if he owned one he'd get bored sooner or later at the least, and having options was always good. Gotta keep your stuff stylin'!

When Herryk asked what they would do afterwards, however, Mort blinked. "Go back to dorm?" he responded, a tad confused as he looked to the taller boil. Was there something else Herryk needed to do maybe?

Herryk looked at Mort with confusion.

"Does Mort not want to visit the scarecade? Or ... Herryk doesn't know. Herryk was just having a good time with Mort. Does Mort have games in his dorm?"

The draugr shrugged.

"Herryk has nothing else planned except sitting in his dorm." He shrugged again, peering down at the slender zombie. "If Mort does not feel like hanging out, that is fine too. Herryk just thought it would be nice to.. " A third shrug, this one a little half-hearted.

The scarecade? Well that did sound fun . . . And didn't Mama said he couldn't be antisocial anymore? The kind of antisocial where he made more friends on Groanspring and HIM than in reality?

The wounded foxfire look pretty much did Mort in, even though he didn't actually know what those were. Actually . . . "Said wanted show foxfires?" Mort asked him as he placed the green eyePhone back on the stand. "Remembered y-you mention that while back. Still want walk them?"

But oh, it was so tempting to just start Herryk's soon-to-be-new-eyePhone up and play around with the settings, get the apps, play its games . . . His fingers twitched a bit.

Be proud, Mama. Her baby boil was actually trying a stab at socializing that didn't involve electronics.

Herryk's smile was as bright as a thousand -- nay, a million billion suns.

"Herryk would love to walk foxfires with Mort!" He almost sounded too excited, but Herryk did so love his foxfires. All fifty of them.

"But first, Mort must set up Herryk's eyePhone." He wrapped an arm around the other boil's shoulder, directing the zombie towards the registers. It didn't take him long to pay and soon enough they were out the door of the maul. Thank Jack.

"Herryk hates that place," he confided to the other boil.

Phew. Jack, if Herryk adopted that look again, Mort wasn't sure what he'd do. It was like being near a crying ghoul! All throughout the trip out, Mort more than happily began tinkering around with the eyePhone.

But most electronics need you to charge them, you might say. And this is correct! This was where Mort's brain came in. Or rather, Mort's brain's electrical charges. A carefully placed finger and some monitored shocks got the thing running at about 1/3 battery and Mort some nice new twitches and static-raised hair. Also some new pangs of pain.

So worth it. The eyePhone was as shiny as the zombie had imagined it, and it was only because it was easy to follow Herryk out that he managed to find the exit at all - his eyes were glued to the screen. "Why? N-N-Not s-so bad," Mort answered distractedly as he typed in Herryk's information; his stutter was more pronounced due to the forced charging. "Mrrr . . . O-Okay, set up p-p-p-password 123456. You go b-back a-and change to what y-you want later." At this point, they were back on school grounds.

Mort attempted to smooth down his hair. It failed. Boy, his fingers kinda ached from that . . .

Still worth it, he reminded himself with a smile as he showed Herryk the desktop. "I-Is t-t-touchscreen. C-Can move with f-flick of f-f-finger." He demonstrated by swiping a finger across between the two sets of apps already on the eyePhone, things like Gruegle, Interweb Explorer, eyePhoto, Contacts . . .

Herryk was so thrilled to have a friend like Mort. He chuckled at the zombie's hair, shaking his head as he peered at the screen of the phone. It looked ... way too confusing. Way too confusing. Password? Touch screen? Herryk had just kind of been hoping he could turn it on and then just say something like 'eyephone activate' and it would just do whatever it needed to do to get things done.

A password? Augh.

"Herryk will have to read the manual," he mumbled, his lips twisting from a smile to a more serious shape.

Until he thought about foxfires.

"Herryk still can not believe that Mort has never seen a Foxfire before."

"Nonononono. No m-m-manual," Mort told him with an emphatic look. "M-Makes too complic-cat-t-ted. Do yourself, th-then ask Interweb if n-need help." That was how Mort did it at least, and it always worked for him. Plus it looked as if Herryk looked a bit overwhelmed by the idea of an eyePhone period. Adding that mound of a manual on top of it? Best to keep the poor guy on the simple ground.

Mort's whole hand decided to twitch into a half-fist before relaxing as another small shock went through his arm. "Mama k-keeps c-c-certain minies. D-Didn't leave house lots." Didn't have a lot of friends, he left out. Not because he was an unlikeable person, but because his mother wasn't always around to push him out of the door, and Mort himself for quite a while was the stereotypical basement nerd.

Herryk grunted. "Interweb? Manual is too complicated? Mort, it is just reading." Herryk shook his head abruptly. "Reading is very easy. Interwebs are ... very hard. For Herryk, at least." He shrugged, though, and watched Mort's twitching. One brow lifted as Herryk glanced up at Mort's face.

"Is Mort okay? Maybe Mort should not have charged Herryk's phone. Now Herryk feels bad." He narrowed his eyes.

"Maybe Herryk should carry Mort back home. Mort is looking a little... twitchy."

"M'f-fine," Mort told him. "J-Just g-g-give it a minute." If Herryk knew enough about computers, Mort sounded almost as if he were a program with an error, making him jump back into the exact same sounds when he "glitched". The zombie took a deep breath and attempted to steel himself against further interruptions.

Will save, he thought. Will save.

What did his body reply back with? WHAT WILL SAVE. Mort twitched again, the entirety of the arm this time; the very one he had used to charge the eyePhone. "C-C-C'mon," he stuttered, looking upset with himself as he pinned that arm to his side. "J-Jack darn i-i-it . . ." It was always the same; his brain was in control when it came to the electricity he produce, and when Mort indeed used it, the bolts never seemed to come without a price.

Herryk didn't look convinced, not even a little, but he could see that Mort was feeling a little upset. He didn't want to push the issue of carrying Mort because honestly he didn't want to upset the zombie further.

"Almost home," Herryk said, forcing a chipper tone. He quickened his pace the slightest, slowing if he moved too far ahead.

"If Mort is not feeling up to walking pets, Herryk understands," Herryk said quietly. Usually in this sort of circumstance Herryk would offer food -- it seemed to comfort most of Herryk's friends. The only problem here was that Mort was also undead, and Herryk didn't know if he was one of the undeads who liked to eat.

"Maybe Herryk can.. uh.." the draugr looked helpless. "Another day, maybe? Mort should rest?"

"L-L-Lemme s-see them at l-leassssst," Mort pleaded as he shambled at Herryk's heels, not wanting this to end on a bad note just because he decided to be hasty. "Then w-will rest. P-Promise."

Wasn't that what he did anyway? Sit around in a half-packed room, eyes glued to some form of a screen or another. Might as well socialize with Herryk and see just what got the giant boil's attention so.

Herryk grunted. Maybe seeing the foxfires would help Mort feel better. With any luck, at least. Herryk only hoped that he didn't show up with Mort only to find that his foxfires had multiplied once more. It was getting a little hectic in his room as of late, and sometimes Herryk felt like he had to wade through the sea of little fluffy bodies just so he could shuffle around his room.

"As long as Mort promises," Herryk grumbled, pursing his lips in dismay.

"P-P-Promise." Mortimer forced a smile, which wasn't hard since his mouth was used to such a shape by now. "No worry, k-keep promises." Hopefully they were close to Herryk's dorm, though, he could feel his legs were beginning to feel some after shocks from his charging try.

It didn't take long for them to reach the undead dorms. Herryk was thankful that they both lived here, because after Mort got to see the foxfires it wouldn't take long for the smaller boil to head home. Herryk would escort him, of course, just to make sure that Mort got there safe and sound.

Once they approached Herryk's room, the draugr shoved open the door.

Suddenly, an ocean of fluff swarmed around their ankles. Herryk gave a loud, pained sigh.

"Babies got out of their pen again," Herryk explained. "The closet is too small so Herryk had to keep them in a bigger pen." He sounded almost apologetic.

OwO "H-Herryk, wha . . ." He stared at the fluffy floor they had stumbled into incredulously. A sea of fur and yipping and . . . and those adorable eyes. Those adorable, dark eyes. How many were there?! Mort managed to rip his eyes off the piles of fluff to look at the draugr with a slightly agape mouth. "Why so m-many?"

Though he was slowly warming up to the idea of why not so many. Still, how could Herryk move around with such an obstruction, regardless of the fluffyness? Or rather, how could he let it get so large?
