Her smack was met by the slight sneering rise of his upper lip, even after she had explained herself. Any growls or other vocal replies were held in check. He was reminded of the time she had slapped him in the haunted house, right after he'd returned from the void, and therefore had no trouble recognizing that she would probably do much more than knock his hand away if he tried to touch the food again before she declared it done. At least she would if she was actually nearby.

When Levi moved to retrieve the silverware, West stayed put, at least until some of the bacon went and called attention to itself. Oh, hello there! I'm bacon! Chew me. Chew me! CHEW ME! Hmph. She could hardly expect him to ignore that. West reached out, deftly plucking the sizzling hunk of rebellious pork from its plate and popping it into his mouth. The boil was having no trouble thinking before taking action. That those actions were a little bit petty and spiteful didn't seem to bother him at all.

West sat back on his pillow, a closed-mouth smile spreading across his face as he looked up at Levi and chewed.

Turning with two large toothed knives in one hand and forks in the other, Levi returned to the side of the pit, sitting over her pillows, and looking rather suspiciously at the wrath demon's chewing. What'd you... Looking back to the steaks and then to him, then back to the steaks and back again- where was West? He was eye-to-eye with a tatzel.

Suddenly two knives pointed just under his chin from one hand. It was more because the ghoul was using them as pointers and less that she actually wanted to do damage to him. Levi not only would rather strangle him herself if he deserved a beatdown but she also was too dang tired still from the fight. Her side tingled to the pain of her sudden movement now, causing her to hiss lightly in automatic response. Boil, I swear if yer testing' ma patience 'ere-

She really couldn't do much right now- but she'd fake it if not just to save face.

He bared is teeth in a short two-beat laugh at her sudden movement and invasion of his personal space. Unlike earlier when he had flinched away from her attentions, West grabbed the ghoul's hand now, shifting it a hair closer to his chest. Whether he had gotten used to the idea of her being in his face or he was simply okay with such things if they were on his terms, the boil didn't seem all that concerned with her proximity. He pressed the knives' points into the soft flesh of his throat.

Go on then.

"Not at all," he said slowly, his grin wide and toothy. "Yer stupid bacon fell off is all. I wasn't gonna jus' let it sit." He took a deep breath, the combined scents of steak and candy corn interestingly heady.

"Thought y'mighta burned it'r somethin' with how long it took. But it was... good."

It was him trying to put the ball in his court; that much she could tell. You didn't fight them boils back home without realizing they often put on a face to show who the biggest bad boils were. Liars.

Although- with West, this sort of act made him look oddly comfortable. The smallest glint of false bravado was usually there... with him, there wasn't any. Right now, she was close enough to feel that he was solid as stone; his hand on her wrist didn't withhold her away from him like he was keeping her at a specific distance. He wasn't seriously going to test her limits here, was he? As if she wouldn't push back...

Like a cowboil in a poker game, Levi was going to try and call his bluff. Leaning into him a bit till those teeth moved down and poked into his shirt, she bared her teeth right back, hissing lightly for just a moment. But that was it. That was her handy work under there; she'd just bandaged that.

Levi withdrew the blades against West's grasp when she heard his commentary. So he'd tried the bacon and it was good; that was a positive note. That much had her forgetting she had been holding steak knives against the boil and her expression changed to something more cheery. The tatzel ghoul was proud of her grilling abilities. 'course it was good. If'I wanted ta poison ya 'er somethin', West... I would've. Don't need ta'waste food ta do that sorta thing. kekeke~ Well- she could once she got her darned venom glands to work properly anyways. They'd failed her during this fight; it was something to work on.

Eyeing his hand on her wrist, she raised a brow. Yew lettin' me go 'ere ta give ya tha'steak 'er yer done with just that bacon bit? Release me or I'm eating them both. Nah, she wouldn't do that- but she liked to think she could if she really wanted to. Really.

West hadn't truly expected Levi to go so far as to murder someone in her dorm, but to be fair, he hadn't thought much of consequences when he had grabbed her hand. For the first time outside of a fight he was using someone else's anger as a helpful boost rather than an unintentional high. It seemed the tatzel was just angry enough. The feeling served to shift his mood dramatically, even if he couldn't identify precisely why.

His grip loosened slightly when he felt pressure against his new bandages, jolted out of his emotional leeching by the sting. He didn't let go, at least not until she threatened the rest of his food. As he released her wrist, West fought against a genuine and unmalicious grin, but eventually let it overtake his features. "Poison? What?" he said curiously, dropping his hand to his chest, perhaps to protect it in case she suddenly decided to make a move to stab him. He didn't mention the rest of his steak, trusting that letting her go was enough of an indication that he wanted it.

His smile didn't have that undercurrent of foulness right now. Huh. Odd. Levi trie to think back to this sort of expression on him; she'd seen it before, hadn't she? In any case, her wrist was loosened on and then released, leaving her open for offering a plate and set of cutlery to West. She waited for him to take them from her before sitting back down in her cushion with her own plate and utensils.

She coughed lightly at his restating her poison. Eh... yea. It's what ma' kin do. We got poison 'in us. She rubbed a hand under her jaw then, illustrating where the poison came from. They'd been irritated but, luckily, she wasn't developing any expanding in that area; the glands were just sore and she felt it. Nothing a good steak couldn't help right now. Folks that know how'ta do it proper make tha air ya 'a breath full'a poison... 'n boil, ...you'd know when that's happenin', I tell ya. Just in case he chose to run out the door thinking she was making him breathe in poison right now.

Sticking her knife into the fleshy slab first, Levi cut out a piece of bacon+steak combo, sticking it into her mouth and chewing. It was crispier this time than when she'd made it with the hound. Just as she had then, her ears flickers down for a moment at the taste. Mmm~ Then they shot back up; she looked over at West, trying to gauge his response to the combination of cooking compiled.

Almost as if he hadn't just tried to initiate a dangerous altercation involving sharp things, West took the offered plate, fork and knife without hesitation, slicing off a hunk of steak that almost appeared too large to fit in his mouth until it did. He took another pair of giant bites, barely chewing and swallowing, then finally settled down long enough to listen to Levi. Her words made him frown, but only for a moment. It was his initial reaction to everything, all right?

Sure, the poison thing was cool (and probably explained her odd coughing during their fight), but his lack of awesome poison just seemed like one more obstacle to overcome when it came to fighting. Slice. Slice. SLICESLICESLICE! Chew. Swallow. Sigh. He could do that, he supposed.

He looked back up from his plate with a more neutral expression and nodded once. If she wouldn't stab him, she wasn't likely to poison him either. "'S good," he said, feeling as though he should say something that could be construed as pleasant since she had gone to the trouble. "Like I said." The fact that he was already halfway done with the thing was clearly no indication of his thoughts on the steak's quality.
PostPosted: Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:20 pm

He was eating it like the thing was going to disappear off the plate; well, it kind of was now. For a boil his size, she wasn't surprised to see him get all that gut of his so much as fit the pieces he was cutting in his mouth. She snickered at the puffing of his cheeks when they filled. What had her tail end and ears point up in attention was his compliment. Sure, she knew she grilled well, but it was surreal hearing something complimentary from West's mouth.

Guess it sure must be if'ya find it reason 'nuff ta tell me that twice over. She paused, taking a few quick bites of her own steak before following up. Well thank ya'kindly. She bowed her head slightly at him when thanking and rolled back up to munch another piece of bacon steak. The ghoul knew when to respectfully thank someone for a compliment given at least. Don't mind grillin' so much none. Best when ya' can make tha most use 'a tha fire n' grill it up with a few folks. She'd rather eat with West than eat on her own; company, if her always open door wasn't evidence enough, was always welcome.

Feelin' any better now? Eat 'it up, boil. I wanna see an empty plate 'in front'a ya. She viciously ripped off a piece of steak after forking the whole thing over to her mouth.Levi was making a point to show that she would eat it all. It was her way of urging him to finish so he'd feel better but also her own personal way of taking him on. It wasn't a race, but the ghoul would scarf that meat down into this little body or pass out trying. That was how you showed it was a real good meal.

West smirked faintly between bites, scoffing and shaking his head a moment. "Yer... welcome." It was quite an effort to force the words out in the first place, and once they had been uttered, they hung in the air awkwardly like an ugly, naked gnome. West took several more bites to hide his discomfort, then wisely, at least in his opinion, decided to pretend he hadn't said anything at all.

"Mmmhmm. Feel fine." And he did, mostly. There was still a faint wooziness clouding his mind that he noticed when he turned his head too fast, and the claw marks on his chest weren't rainbows and lollipops, but all in all... at least he wasn't unconscious. He cut his remaining steak into three large pieces and stabbed at one of them, looking from the meat to the ghoul quizzically.

Was that empty plate thing a challenge? O no she di'nt! He stuffed his next bite into his mouth, chewing it partially before saying, "It's goin'." He then continued chewing, swallowed, and sat back on his pillow in direct opposition to his words. "In a minute." Right now he just felt like digesting. West kept his hands fisted tightly around his utensils, determined to finish. Eventually.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 04, 2012 12:39 am

Eh West... She put her her utensil on her plate and rested it on the floor, edging over to the boil slowly. ...you sure? Ya look a bit worse fer tha'... She pulled an outreached hand back from nearly placing it at his forehead; right, he'd jump higher than a tatzel on a trampoline if she did that.

Sitting back on her knees, Levi kept her hands to herself, but she wasn't about to let the boil fool her into thinking he was peachy keen. Well ya don't look like yer ready ta be goin' anywhere fer a bit. Ya kno, on 'account 'a bein' full n' all with them things. The ghoul gestured with a nod at West's chest where his bandages kept hidden. It was clear by his unsettled movements that walking back to the demon dorms now was too much of a gamble. The tatzel tried to play his wobbling off as him being full just to cater to his ego. There were three options that came to mind:

- he leaves and collapses somewhere on the grounds
- he stays and sleeps for a bit in her dorm till he's more stable
- he attempts to leave and Levi knocks him out again. Would make him sleep at least.

For now, the second seemed to be the way to go. Finish on'up n' I'll fix tha' bed up. Yer sleepin' 'ere. There was no question seeking an answer; she just stated why was going to occur. The pillow he destroyed was just as good as the pillow he had back at him dorm so- he should be comfortable enough, she reasoned. Just heal up.

The boil didn't actually move in response to her proximity this time, but he did shift his glare from his nearly empty plate to his hostess. He was fine. He just wanted to stay where he was for a while. Hopping back up onto her bed had been the furthest thing from his mind, at least until she had mentioned it, and even though it sounded really comfortable...

"No."

He hadn't meant to say that out loud. Really.

"I dun need t'lie down," he continued, his tone matter-of-fact and without any hint of a whine. He could be stubborn too, it seemed. "I won't leave if you're insistin', but I'ma stay right here." West loosened his death grip on the utensils he held, calmly and deliberately placing them in a little stack on his plate. He wasn't far from lying down as it was, slumped contentedly into the pillow he had chosen. Still, despite his apparent comfort, he wanted to leave, and rolling around on her bed wouldn't get him any closer to the door.

"That okay?" he said gruffly, fully intending to put up a fight if it was not. A fight he would lose at this point, but that pesky little fact wouldn't stop him from trying.

Well

That was kind of to be expected as his first answer.

Levi hardly batted an eye to the demon boil's outright opposition to the idea of staying there to sleep.

Oh, I'm insistin'. She got up, giving him a don't move look before bounding back over to her bed and rustling with the covers. Down the steps, she carried the punctured pillow and her long-furred bed cover. Sure, got no problem with tha'where just so long as ya ain't leavin' ma'sight. Not till yer good n' ready.

Knowing him, he'd claim he was good and ready now, so she followed up with her statement.

... by me. The baku had always been welcome to sleep off the fatigue there while they were training, so it was only right to offer the same to West if she was training him too now. He'd regain his strengths so she could beat them out of him again do his best next time.

Levi threw the pillow at West to distract him before he could oppose to the use of her cover. She was careful not to singe the fur when waving it out flat over West; the long fur was very warm and guaranteed to provide a comfy rest. There was actually a small smile on her face when the ghoul thunked back down into her own pillows by the pit and sighed heavily when laying back into them herself. She kept one hand over her side where she'd previously felt a sting of pain. Yep, bruising was on its way.

Perhaps she'd rest a bit herself as well... after he fell asleep. She watched the flames dance in the pit, the room seeming to be slightly darker than when they'd first arrived. Had they really be here that long already? Yep, the pumpkin in the sky was setting and the darkness was creeping through her window, leaving the fire as the main source of light. Don't need me ta read ya 'a bedtime story, do ya? Clever ghoul...

"What're ya..." He turned and watched as she retrieved a furry cover and the pillow he had brutally but unintentionally mauled. He turned it over in his hands after it was pelted at him, frowning slightly at the tears. "Y'need another one of these," he stated as if he was making a list in his head. They were due to go shopping; what was one more purchase? When the ghoul stopped fussing over him and sat down herself, West initiated a brief period of fidgeting and blanket shoving, wiggling around until the cover rested on his body at a height that didn't leave him resembling a burrito.

"I'll tell you a bedtime story," he muttered, more as a taunt than as a real threat. West didn't know many bedtime stories to tell, but he didn't want her telling him one either. He shifted a bit, sinking further into his makeshift bed and propping his ruined pillow under his head. He stared at Levi defiantly rather than making any move to sleep. You first.
PostPosted: Wed Jan 11, 2012 9:24 am

She didn't even think about it, really. He'd destroyed something of hers and it didn't occur to her that he should replace it. Why? This time, he hadn't done it on purpose. It wasn't the sleeping boil's aim to destroy her pillow and having hard ea-horns made this sort of thing happen. West was already going to go with her to the maul to replace garments lost to scissor penetration. Whether he purchased it or not, perhaps there would be a place there for her to find one.

Levi watched him rustle around like a critter finding that sweet spot of comfort; it was pretty comical, really. There was something homely about it. Especially when he tried to make a comeback- like the smart mouthed boil he was.

Yea? Go on then. Tell me one. Her eyes and expression slyly said hey- you offered. Now follow up. She knew he didn't actually have anything to say. The tatzel just wanted to make a comeback on his comeback.

One stare was = to a counter stare. West was looking at her like he was thinking of something but refused to do it. Sleep? He better believe his Jack danged hinny he was sleeping before her. He wasn't going to eat and run only to pry open all those wounds again after she'd finely bandaged them up.

Stare...

West stopped staring for a brief moment, just long enough to roll his eyes. "I'm not gonna tell ya..." He frowned. What was he doing? She knew he hadn't actually meant it. He knew that she knew that. Why was he wasting his breath arguing? He sighed, though not as dramatically as he could have. It was almost as if it was a genuine sigh of mild exasperation rather than a sigh for show, which was fitting because that's exactly the sort of sigh it was.

"I'm not tired, y'know. I jus' slept like... a million hours." He knew being unconscious was hardly restful, but it was getting dark. He did not want to spend the night here, even if he had agreed to stay until dismissed. What could possibly happen to him on the way back to the demon dorms?

Stare stare.
