Raising a brow at Riley, Jericho just shifted into his treasure to get more comfortable.
"Sounds good to me," he said, still holding the ice to his forehead. He was feeling a little numb there now, so his head wasn't hurting quite as much. The dragon was still pretty damn uncomfortable in that spot, however.
Trying to just deal with it, he held up the coin, glancing over at his best friend.
"Have I ever told you about this coin before?"

Riley had settled in comfortably, but when he held up the coin she had been watching, a brow rose in curiosity. A story behind one of his coins? She was instantly at attention. You have not. I am all ears. She turned slightly to the side.

The smile upon Jericho's features grew as he picked up on Riley's curiosity.
"This coin right here. Is the first gold coin or treasure I've ever received. Dad gave it to me when I was but a wee little hatchling. Mom says when I received it, my eyes were as wide as the moon," he chuckled.

Riley chuckled at the mental image of a little hatchling dragon with wide eyes, receiving his first piece of treasure. It was charming - beautiful, even. I wish I could have seen that. It would have been .. something. She held her tongue, metaphorically speaking, a glimmer of sadness flickering through her eyes before it disappeared.
How do you manage to tell which one is the specific coin, in all of these?

It was a good question really. He had many, many gold coins after all. Feeling it a little more, he offered it out to Riley for her to take hold. He had caught onto that bit of sadness, but he just went to continue on for now.
"I spent a very long time studying this coin. I can tell just by feeling it. On the back of the coin, there's two faint scratches parallel to the underside of the runes. The farthest left rune has a very subtle indent towards its top... There's more I could list but I'd rather not bore you," Jericho explained.

Riley took the coin, and rubbed it between her fingers as he discussed all the miniscule differences that made this coin special. It was remarkable that he was able to find it, even with that feeling. Nothing you say bores me, Jericho. She muttered distractedly, flipping the coin between her fingers. It's a lovely memento of your past. The thought of you as a hatchling warms my heart.
She let the coin drop into her palm, and held it back out for him. Thank you for sharing that with me.

Letting out a chuckle, he took the coin back and removed the ice from his head for the time being. It was nice to get the freezing cold thing off of him for a little bit.
"I was a bit of a rowdy little one," he grinned, "So it was probably a good thing I was as small as I was."
There was a slightly mischievous glint in his eyes as he said this. One could only imagine what a young dragon was like during his... 'terrible twos' so to speak.

Let me see how it's looking. She pushed up and turned to bend over him, her eyes serious as she took a look at the head. I'm unsure how you can say with a straight face that you were a rowdy little one. Her eyes flickered down to him for a brief second, amused. When I'm looking at evidence of just how rowdy you still are.

Jericho turned his head so that Riley could get a better look at the bruise there. He had a fairly sly grin upon his features as she spoke.
"Hahaha, you got me there. Though I think I was a wee bit more destructive back then than now. I definitely set more things on fire... sometimes by accident."
Granted, he still set things on fire accidentally. Things like Christof.

Good. She placed her hand on his mouth, and patted it. I'd rather you not accidentally set me on fire right now while I'm looking at your bump.
She bent away and settled the ice back on his forehead. It's looking much better. It's a wide bump, instead of being focused, which means it will hurt less because it's spread out. Still, take it easy until the swelling goes down. All right?

"Ah, I wouldn't set you on fire. Well. Maybe if we were sparring. But not here," he grinned. As the ice was placed back onto his head, he gave a light wince, tensing for a moment. Glancing over at Riley, he nodded slowly.
"Yeah. I got it," Jericho replied.

Excellent. She patted his shoulder gently. Now, rest. It will make the healing faster, so that I may thoroughly whoop your a** all over again that much sooner.
She settled back down on the coins beside him, made herself comfortable, and settled in. It was clear she did not plan to leave him alone as he slept - just in case.

With a smile, Jericho nodded before pausing, giving Riley a bit of a sidewards glance.
"Mmm I think next time it'll be me whooping your a**," he grinned. Then, letting out a yawn, he settled back down and closed his eyes. He knew he could count on the Mindflayer to keep an eye on him to make sure he was alright as he recovered.

Riley waited until she felt he had drifted off, before finally chuckling and whispering out an answer.
