'Only pain and suffering come from conflicts. I know that better than anyone,' Cael thought, smiling sadly. "It's my duty to make sure no one gets hurt, Ophelia. And I plan on doing a job." He reached out an ruffled her hair gently. "I'm sorry I troubled you, Ophelia. It's not your job to worry about this..."
Cael took his duty seriously. And part of what he imagined his duty to be was not just keeping the Scions safe, but happy. And here he was, making Ophelia worried and sad. But- they also had to know, to be prepared... Cael hated these situations, he really did.

Terrible events were to come from what Cael predicted. Ophelia smiled slightly as she looked up at the tall man. "I can't help it," she said quietly. "It's in my nature to worry. Please promise, me that you'll won't get hurt too bad and to protect everyone," Ophelia continued as she turned to leave. ♒ "No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight, In the shadow of your heart..." ♒

Is it true what they say?
Are we too blind to find the way? 〈 〈 〈ΪuʂϮϊϮϊӓ《The Judge》Lϊbrӓ〉 〉 〉 Fear of the unknown
Clouds our hearts today  Iustitia walked out into the courtyard just in time to hear Cael tell Ophelia not to worry. She assumed he was referring to the war. "Is there any news?" She asked, walking up to him. She smiled at Ophelia as she passed. Ophelia was one of the few Scions that Iustitia never had a problem with, which was something she enjoyed. Turning back to Cael. "Is it certain there's going to be another war?" She asked. Every few hundred years someone mentions war, but only a few times did war ever actually occur. Even then it always ended in a draw. I hear their silence
Preaching my blame. 《I'll come into your world, see through your eyes.
I'll try to understand, between the truth and the lies》 Will our strength remain
If their power reigns?

Alephonze's head rose now his eyes opening. He remained in his leaning position but decided now would be about the time he should step in and speak to support Cael, always his main job.
"Cael, will be fine. It is The duty of the Leo to protect the Scions, and it's my duty to make sure that the Scions and our world remains in balance..."
He always had a way of speaking around the subject to get to his main point it was, to him personally, one of his bad characteristics, but none the less something he did with his speech. With a reassuring smirk he chose his words wisely,
"If he gets in over his head, I'll always be there to bail him out,"
he said this with a slight joking tone attempting to lighten a mood which would grow from talks of war. Alephonze chose his words wisely though, if it came to it, he would always save Cael and any Scion for that matter but he knew that Cael would sacrifice himself in a heartbeat for the Scions and the only way to prevent that was for someone to sacrifice themselves in his place. When the time came that person would have to be Alephonze.
As he was caught in his thoughts he saw Iustitia walk into the courtyard as well. Of course she wasn't ever as easy to calm. She could always tell if anyone was lying, a troublesome ability when needing to reassure her with a falsity. Alephonze was always especially careful with words to her to tell the absolute truth but just enough of it to ease her mind.
"A war isn't for certain, and if at all possible we will take every step to prevent it from occurring. None of us want to see any bloodshed come from ignorace"

Cael looked at Ophelia kindly. Of course, he couldn't promise a thing. He took his duty seriously, and no one- no one- would be hurt if he could prevent it. In any way. So he simply smiled and let Alephonze talk. Of course the other warriors of their small society would try to back him up... But he was supposed to protect them too, and he'd never forget it.
Iustitia approached the group, asking if war was certain. She was right, the stupid Shēngxiào and the Scions always danced around war- they never got along, even if it was rare there was actual war. But this time, no matter what Alephonze was saying, he was sure it'd come to bloodshed soon. "Alphonze is correct, war isn't certain. And certainly we'll try to prevent it. But in my honest opinion... I really think there will be a war. The Shēngxiào seemed quite hostile this time..."

ᴏｐɧｅℓｉａ ƚ ԋ ȩ ɧｅａℓｅɾAs she was about to leave, Ophelia was greeted by Iustita. She smiled and nodded in acknowledgment. The three of them then engaged in the conversation of the matter of what seemed to be an outbreak of war. Ophelia remained relatively calm, but inside, she had a foreboding feeling. ooc: this post is not one of my best......... Alephonze looked to Cael as he spoke, he wasn't usually one to bring about worry, even i it was called for. In this state it could only mean that he was heavily expecting war, his mind must have been caught up more in strategics than in the current situation and realize he wasn't talking to any of the warriors. Then again for this battle, every one might need to be a warrior, it was unlikely they would have a tactical advantage such as last time. They would be sure to bring the fight to scion if they had their way. This being said Alephonze had been placing every security measure possible on the gate into Scion.
Ophelia's discomfort was obvious, Alephonze did feel bad for her, after all being the healer was a blessing, however she had seen the worst of the worst. Alephonze's mind traveled back to the last war. At that time he had been thrashed by Monkey, he only could remember bits and pieces. A win for him, but at the cost of his own body. He could only remember bits and pieces of the aftermath, flashes of consciousness, lying in a bed with Ophelia healing him, and what felt like rain on his hand, in his mind he always told himself it was her power, he always had the sneaking suspicion it might have been her tears for the fall of a Scion.
"Cael..."
Alephonze stated looking to the leader, stepping forward from his leaning position and letting his hands drop. It was less to gain his attention and more out of concern, for the man's well being. The most dangerous part of this war to Alephonze was Cael's determination. He had been protecting the Scion sense as far back as Taurus could remember, so long that he had absolutely no memory o the previous guardian or even if there was one. Alephonze only knew that he would do anything to protect the Scion, even get himself killed, which was why back when he and Cael became friends he decided that he could never let that happen.
He looked away, toward the ground, acknowledging this fact, he could never let Cael, or any of the other Scions know about this lest they would stop him.

There was some very serious unrest going in in the courtyard and it was certainly beginning to get to Leith.. Of course there was a lot of tension going around lately anyways with the threat of yet another war. He sighed, pulling his earphones down so they were around his neck, keeping the music on just loud enough for him to hear it. The little player was something that he had picked up on one of his extremely rare visits to the realm of humans and it was probably one of his most treasured items. It somehow contained hundreds of thousands of songs of all kinds and it was almost always on or at least on his person. Somehow, he just couldn't get into the music right then though.. The possible threat hung on him heavily and he was supposed to be the one stopping it... Sighing, he actually turned the player off and headed for the courtyard, hoping to at least sooth some of the people there. It seemed that he wasn't doing a very good job at his duty of Diplomat so maybe he could at least use his empathy abilities to help the others.
When he got there, he found four if the other Scions already there, talking. He guessed from their tense and worried feelings that the conversation was that of war. Forcing on a casual calm that was almost cheerful, he walked up to the group. "Afternoon ladies; gentlemen. You aren't upsetting the ladies are you Cael?" he asked, teasing lightly.
((Sorry it's so sucky and sucky looking x.x I'm on my phone and I could not for the life of me come up with anything good right now x.e ))

Cael smiled reassuringly at Alephonze and Ophelia. "Don't worry so much. Everything will be fine, I promise." Nowhere in that did he say he would be fine at the end of this, but that was what he'd intended.
He looked up to see Leith approaching, the strange music player hanging around his shoulders, as always. "Normally, I'd say no, but it looks like this time I am," Cael replied lightly and with a smile. "How is everything, Leith?"

ᴏｐɧｅℓｉａ ƚ ԋ ȩ ɧｅａℓｅɾNot wanting to listen to any more talk of the potential of war, Ophelia left the group in silence. If possible, Ophelia wanted to prevent a war breaking out with the Shengxiao because they were just as powerful as the Scions, some stronger than others. Ophelia left the main courtyard and headed off to her own private garden. The sound of water rushing filled the air and it was intstantly cooler than the area in the courtyard. There were multiple ponds that were connected by small waterfalls. Ophelia walked over to one of the ponds that began to frost over slightly. She put her hand to the cold surface, with a small frown on her face. The cold atmosphere around Ophelia, revealed that she was becoming a bit upset and nervous for the others. When Ophelia became upset or stressed out about something, she would either summon the cold or summon torrent rains creating floods... Usually, when she was upset it was the cold. ♒ "No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight, In the shadow of your heart..." ♒

Alephonze listened to Cael's words growing angrier as he spoke. Cael's play on words was often enough to comfort the souls of their comrades but Alephonze knew his tone, his tricks, and what he actually meant by what he said.They had been friends for centuries now, Alephonze knew what Cael would stake to protect the Scion, and Alephonze also knew what he himself would stake to protect his friend.
He dropped his head and gritted his teeth, his fight clenching, the gloved left hand gave off the silent screech of his anger at Cael's words. He turned suddenly away from the group just as Leith arrived, and took a few steps towards exiting the courtyard. Stopping he turned only his head back to Cael. His head was lowered as he spoke, his gaze looking directly into Cael's own.
"I still owe you a life...Cael..."
He knew, almost for a fact, that Cael would understand exactly what it meant, a subject that was above most of the other's heads. Alephonze faced forward and like a soldier walked forth, his sturdy figure and steps much heavier than a man his size should be pushing forth from the courtyard. As he journeyed forth he only wished to go let off some steam. His entire domain was built as if a training facility, with only a small subtle area for resting. He'd head there, but as he ventured towards his domain he came across a cold feeling on his shoulders, it had to be Ophelia, she was feeling upset, and true to her own nature she held it inside as best she could.
Alephonze walked to the entrance to her domain, a shining gate like entryway that displayed the sign of Aquarius, while true as the Protector he had developed certain...loopholes..to the gate system in case of emergency, he would only use them in that very instance and never intrude on the privacy of his fellow Scion in any other case. He instead reaced up with his gloved and armored left arm towards the gate way, his fingers reaching out and retracting as they drew near, he wasn't much one for comforting, but Cael seemed so obsessed with sacrificing himself that he would be hard pressed to notice Ophelia's more subtle signs of her mood. He needed to say something, or at least try he supposed. He gently, gentle not being one his specialties, placed his open palm fingers outstreched upon the bluish white gateway a bright emerald green light shone upon it, as the light focused, it became the simple sign of Taurus a slight emerald glow. With this in any reflective surface that Ophelia chose to view as her access key would display the sign of Taurus, in essence, asking for her permission to enter. Alephonze nervously thought about what to say to help her, but if he could feel the cold all the way out in the main area then someone needed to speak with her, lest her actions affect the human world.

ᴏｐɧｅℓｉａ ƚ ԋ ȩ ɧｅａℓｅɾThe pond had completely iced over now and was beginning to spread to the other ponds. Ophelia tried her best to remain calm so as to not turn her entire domain into a wintery landscape. She pulled her hand away from the surface of the water and was about to step away when a glowing light caught her attention. Ophelia stepped forward to glance down at the light, which was Taurus's symbol. It seemed that he was asking permission to enter her domain. Should she let him in right now? It would only get colder in here... The cold probably wouldn't faze this Scion, he was one of the toughest after all. Ophelia simply waved her hand over the glowing symbol which in turn opened the gate, allowing the other Scion to enter. "What is it?" Ophelia asked quietly as she kept her gaze down on the icey ponds. ♒ "No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight, In the shadow of your heart..." ♒

As the gate shifted open Alephonze felt a cold wind escape it. It seemed Ophelia was keeping herself under control however despite her mood. Alephonze stepped forward into her domain frozen blades of grass in this oasis like setting crunching beneath his boot, the grass would not stay dead however, as Taurus was an earth sign everywhere he stepped grass would normally grow. However, being that it was not his territory he had little control over the reaction, instead any vegetation only restoring to it's natural state as if he had not stepped at all.
"Ophelia...I know how much you hate violence...me too,"
said Alephonze earnestly stepping forward he sat quietly at the pond that she was touching. Easing himself down and sitting to where his left leg was bent upwards his right outstretched, his left arm was draped lazily over his bent knee and he balanced himself on his right arm as he took his position beside the Aquarian girl.
"You must understand..."
He began somberly, looking into the frozen pond,
"Cael only wishes to protect the Scions, and in his single minded goal he might sometimes say or do things that don't seem like he cares about your hatred of war...He knows he just, can't always be on everyone's side when issue like this come up."
Alephonze stated this and though he was nonetheless talking about war there was something else he wanted to get to. Something he really wished to state and that he was really more envious of. In truth, he believed it to be something that was more water sign vs earth sign, or at least that was how he justified it in his own hard-headed mind.
"The truth is, your mindset is of more use than either of us..."
The wind picked up slightly, a cold breeze clashing against the iron skin of Alephonze, he barely felt any effect from it, perhaps one of the most telling silent factors of this moment, in the end of ends, he was simply a being made to fight. Peace, as much as he stated that he sought it, wasn't really something that he thrived at achieving unless he could do so through fighting.
"...You love the world as it is, peace, love, and the beauty that it brings about into this world, you can see these things more clearly than these clouded eyes will ever be able to, Ophelia."
Alephonze stood and walked to the frozen pond and also placed the tip of his fingertip onto it. A saddening look dawning upon his face in the form of a smile betrayed by his eyes
"So you see, the anger and destruction that war may bring about is balanced by the love and beauty that you bring to this world, a frozen pond is no place to invest a heart as pure as yours, it should always be as crystal clear, and reflective as the heart and mind you use to maintain peace everyday. You are the healer, but that doesn't mean you only mend wounds. You, Ophelia, are the one that can mend the world"

ᴏｐɧｅℓｉａ ƚ ԋ ȩ ɧｅａℓｅɾOphelia's gaze remained on the pond as Alephonze stepped into her domain. She could hear his heavy footsteps, which were only amplified by the frozen grass. She turned her head slightly when he took a seat next to her. Alephonze looked out of place here in this place of white snow and ice. Everything around them looked completely fragile and his form contrasted with it. After a moment, he spoke. She listened quietly as he tried to get her to understand Cael's and the other's intentions, concerning this war. "I know Alephonze... I know that Cael's intentions are good. He is the Guardian of all the Scions so his burden is heavy. It's his duty to protect all of us, no matter the cost...." Cael would do anything to protect them all, he would even throw away his own life. However, she could not accept that. There was no need for him to take such drastic measures because Alephonze was also there. Cael didn't need to sacrifice himself if he allowed Alephonze to help him more. She looked to Alephonze, giving him a sorrowful smile. "You give me too much credit. All I want is for everyone to be safe. I have seen you all suffer too much, I can't bear to see you guys like that again... but it is inevitable... Alephonze, promise me that you'll stop Cael from throwing his life away. Promise me that you and him will protect everyone," Ophelia said looking up at him. ♒ "No dawn, no day, I'm always in this twilight, In the shadow of your heart..." ♒
