Asch was sure to notice Faleen's moment of distraction and followed her gaze to the Vaporeon. He said nothing of it though and looked back as he was addressed, releasing the other agent's hand soon after. He didn't know what the history was between Vahy'n and Faleen, but he had seen both of their reactions. Would this affect his already fragile trust with Vahy'n? Only time would tell.
"Yeah," was all the red head said in his agreement with Faleen. His tone was similar to hers, with the exception that it was laced with confusion. He still didn't understand why she had to throw her life away for, and his gaze shifted to Izaya again as he hobbled to the casket, that. However, he knew that the man was Faleen's partner, and thus wouldn't voice such opinions, but perhaps the silent cold stare at the Japanese grunt would betray him.
As soon as Izaya moved away though, the agent sighed and ripped his gaze away from where it had landed on Aila's body. "So stupid," he muttered softly.

She inclined her head downward slightly, but didn't take her eyes off of Asch as he spoke, catching not only the lost sound of his voice, but the look in the the Agent's eyes when his eyes had found Grunt Orihara.
Faleen could put two and two together, and she could guess what kind of conflict this situation might cause. She knew Asch wasn't really that fond of Izaya to begin with.
But still, she didn't say anything, after a moment she followed Asch's gaze over to the Grunt, She nodded to him politely when he looked at her, stepping out of his way, and starting to offer a hand of assistance to his struggles, but he seemed to get where he needed to on his own. The words he spoke could not be picked up completely, but Faleen was not trying to overhear them either.
Asch's muttering, was much closer, and she heard it. Looking back at Asch, Faleen's expression softened a little. "..." She opened her mouth as if to say something, but closed it a moment later. There were things she could say... things she could ask, but that would involve going into a much more emotionally vulnerable place then she felt was really appropriate... or that she just felt would not be productive. It was a place that would be better left unacknowledged.
"I've no doubt that her example will carry onto others," Faleen said instead. This she did believe. "Perhaps in unexpected places..." she finished with a more subtle volume.

As Faleen's words reached him, Asch's posture visibly straightened and he looked over at her with a blank look for a moment, then turned his gaze towards the candles. This was a time to be speaking good things about his former partner, not dwelling on the negative. Which wasn't exactly something he was very good at.
But the implications of the other agent's last statement did cause a slight twitch in the red head's expression. She could be right, but he would only believe it when he saw it.
"She was talented," he said after a moment. "One of the best agents I had ever worked with." He could easily recall the missions that they had gone on together. They had worked well as a team. Their skills had complimented each other.
There was a slight crease in his brow. They had always watched each others backs. If he had been there, at that mission, she might still be alive now.

Vaguely feeling the smaller woman's knees lock under his weight, Izaya grinned and reached for where the elite had put the wheelchair off to one side. "I thought you said you would 'personally escort me'. Come to think of it, Seth-sama had said that too - only it was an offer to the brig instead of the infirmary. Why are there so many offers of personal escorting? Certainly you higher-ups must have better things to do than see us subordinates around the base - oof!"
The grunt had gone from batting his lashes at Asch to glancing down at the Vaporeon at the teen's side. During this process, however, he caught sight of an extra bit of jewelry around the eeveeloution's neck and hadn't watched where he was feeling around. He completely missed his wheelchair, banged his chin on the doorknob, and hit the floor on his stomach, momentarily knocking the air from his lungs. Had this not been the case, he might have ended up emptying said lungs anyway with a cry of pain; instead he gaped with unvoiced agony as he tried to regain his breath.
"-! That - !" he gasped, pointing an accusatory finger at Vany'n while still on the ground, his words barely audible. The injured man rolled over onto his back with a pained expression, taking a moment to inhale and exhale regularly before finishing his statement. "What is that pokemon doing with Aila's necklace?!" The look on his face spoke volumes louder than his weakened voice did. Crimson eyes turned to Asch in confusion, disbelief and - possibly - a hint of outrage.

"'Escorting' does not mean 'carrying' you, Grunt."
Her tone was still flat as Nakura leaned to try and nab the chair again. He failed all too miserably, which in all honesty was to his own benefit. While he lay on the ground after his pathetic attempts, the short pink-haired woman walked up to the wheelchair she had pushed away and began to push it even further away. It was in fact wheeled back to the Trainee Arcadie before Kunai relinquished the transport for Nakura and began to walk back to him. Looming over him at her own less than impressive height, she proceeded to ignore his question while addressing her own "concerns."
"I don't know why you were trying to get that wheelchair back, Grunt. You showed me earlier that you did not want to use it, so now you are not permitted to use it in my company. I expect you to walk back to the infirmary. If you can't do that, then I expect you to drag your pathetic broken body back there, without any assistance." Though the tone of her voice still remained on that one steady level, it was clear she expected this man to start going before she began testing him on his pain threshold.

She could tell that Asch knew what Faleen was talking about, and she could tell that he probably didn't really feel to sure about the statement. Faleen herself wasn't so sure about the likelihood of her words either, but there was that possibility.
"I regret not having the opportunity to work with her more," Faleen did go on some missions with her, what she could remember was that she was always there to get the job done, and get it done well. during some of the teams worse moments, Faleen recalled having to help Aila when she was bleeding out all over the volcano rock. Ironic to think really... Faleen thought to herself, quietly, and almost cautiously glancing over to the box with Aila in it, not quite being able to see the girl within. How close Aila had been to death that day... And was pulled back by whatever will she had.
The commotion of Izaya falling to the ground, and the sudden outburst from him drew Faleen's attention once again, the Agent's eyebrows arched. "wh-" She followed where he was pointing, finding Vany'n... blinking a couple of times, Faleen found herself once again staring at the Vaporeon, with a steadily hardened stare. that was Aila's chain? and Vany'n was wearing it? Well, that was certainly confusing to Faleen as well. why was a trainer's pokemon wearing something that belonged to a Rocket?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That human had been making a show of himself, he was loud and he moved around a lot... and now he found himself on the ground, Vany'n was surprised to see him look directly toward her, and even point, angrily spouting about the necklace that Asch had put on her.
Her wide eyes blinked in surprise a couple of times, though she stood to her feet in a purposeful stance, and stared back at him, fins splayed wide. "Vaporeon!" she spoke to him, as if in a scolding tone.
The conversation with Faleen, if you could call it a conversation, was suddenly ended as Izaya again decided to make a spectacle of himself. Asch's expression hardened at the accusatory words that came out of the grunt's mouth. The red head had certainly not expected Izaya to notice, or even care about the necklace.
Asch glanced between Izaya and the indignant Vaporeon, before placing himself between them. Standing in front of the water type, Asch folded his arms and glared at the cripple on the floor.
"None of your damn business," he said with a certain edge to it. As irritating as this was, Asch didn't want to fight or argue with this guy. It wasn't the time or place, but Izaya didn't seem to give a damn about that at all. It was becoming more and more difficult to hide his displeasure.
Though Izaya had initially acted as though he couldn't have cared less about the labradorite pendant Aila had left to him, it seemed it meant more to him than he had been willing to reveal. The man had preferred not to 'split the baby', so to speak, and had thus left Asch both the Grand Ile chain and the labradorite necklace to keep together. He'd thought it was the least Alia's partner deserved after not having been able to go on her last mission with her. Now, though, he was beginning to regret his actions.
Never in his wildest dreams would he have believed Asch thought so little of Aila to have given her special necklace to mere pokemon - and a stolen one at that. The fact that Vany'n was already wearing her own jewelry only served to anger the grunt more, making him feel as though the necklace's special value was lost in the abundance of other shiny trinkets the Vaporeon wore.
He couldn't have imagined why Asch would have given the piece to Vany'n, of all pokemon, but it looked very much to Izaya as though the teen had just lumped it together with the first batch of jewelry he saw. The grunt though Asch might has well have put it in a jewelry box of cheap, costume pieces and not bothered to take it out again. And here the informant had assumed from the whole fiasco with Natalia at the Halloween party that Asch was a sentimental soul. It seemed he had been wrong.
Without looking up at Kunai, Izaya pointed a finger from his good hand at her and stated curtly, "Just a minute, Elite." Though his actions may have been particularly disrespectful, he wasn't in the mood to consider the consequences just then. As far as he was concerned, there was no better time or place to discuss the situation than here at Aila's memorial in front of Aila. This was about her, not the vain, red-haired agent who had claimed to care about his partner.
While Faleen was present and Izaya knew she would have probably disapproved of his behavior, he couldn't help but do what he felt was important. The informant had felt helpless when Aila had protected him and then later when she died in his arms. He continued to feel vulnerable in his casts after having sustained the injuries he had. If speaking out was the only way he could fight back in this situation, then that was what he would do, regardless of what punishment it would earn him. He was sick of feeling helpless, and if Faleen was truly the sort of woman Izaya thought her to be, he guessed she would understand that. If not now, then perhaps in hindsight.
When the Vaporeon took a stance and seemed to scold him, the grunt glared, not about to be chided by a trainer's contest pokemon. "That doesn't belong to you," he snapped at it, speaking more for himself than the creature. He didn't think it could have been smart enough to understand him or his reasons for being upset. Izaya still didn't think pocket monsters could feel - not like humans could. "It's not just some pretty bauble to add to your collection. It was Aila's!"
About that time, Asch stepped in, planting himself between the water-type and Izaya. Despite having sensed from the beginning that the red-head had been holding his temper, the informant didn't care about that anymore. In Orihara's mind, Aila's partner had betrayed her and belittled her memory. He wasn't about to let him get off so easily, despite his own inability to physically fight back.
"Faleen-san," the grunt on the ground said softly, trying to reel in his own emotions, "Didn't that pokemon belong to your sister...? Do you really think it has any business wearing a Rocket keepsake?" He purposely referred to Vany'n as an 'it', expressing his opinion that pokemon were nothing more than property.
He hadn't intended to drag his own partner into this mess, but he knew with both Kunai and Asch against him, he wasn't likely to make his point without help. He looked to the blonde lady seriously, his mouth set in a firm line, genuinely asking her opinion. If she respected Asch's decision, then Izaya would back off. No point in fighting a battle that couldn't be won.
Vany'n was frowning at the Rocket on the floor, she didn't seem in the least bit impressed. that young man didn't seem to have any idea when to quit, she had watched him get scolded, and i the process of a rather cruel punishment from what the Vaporeon recognized as a higher rank, and he was still going. He seemed genuinely upset that she was wearing this necklace.
Still, Vahy'n wasn't going to put up with being spoken to like that by a Rocket Not that she had to worry much more, just as Vanyn was starting to feel the gaze of Faleen on her. Vany'n slid a paw back, lowering her head just as Asch stepped forward between her and the human on the floor, mostly blocking her view from him. "Vapor..." This drew her attention to the red haired Agent, fins still pricked high.
Asch seemed to be growing more annoyed at this situation, and this man. Really she couldn't blame him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
When Asch stepped up, Faleen's gaze was once again torn from Vany'n. Instead the Agent took a step as well, stepping by to Asch to lay a hand on his shoulder. "Each have their own ways... and Aila accepted his, please remember that," Telling him only the truth, in hopes of helping him to not get anymore angry. She was the Grunt's recruiter, his trainer, teacher, the one who ended up dying, to go back and get him out of that collapsing machine. the Engineer didn't pretend to know the extent of their interactions, but at this point, Izaya was lending some insight as to what she might have meant. She didn't wish for this situation to escalate, but it had the formula to do so very quickly. The way he spoke to the Elite was indication of that, and the moment he did so she felt a little startled. Oh dear, this was not going to end well, Faleen knew at this point she shouldn't just stand by anymore, Looking over to her partner when he spoke her name, she took a few steps in his directions before pausing at this next question.
Her sister was brought into the conversation. Hazel eyes widening, Faleen jerked her head back in surprise, blinking at Izaya. Joined of course, with the usual surprised flushing of her face. "..." For a few moments she was speechless, not sure how she felt about this news being so openly dropped into the room like this, even if he had been quiet about it. The Agent was quick to recover though, with a glanc over to Asch giving him a soft nod, before she walked down the room. she didn't intent to leave, she wished to remain and speak with Asch more.
"It doesn't matter what I think." she said in a much quieter tone as she got close enough to the dark haired man that she could kneel, holding a gloved hand out so that she could help him stand back up, and get up off of that floor. "Neither the pokemon, nor the jewel belong to me, and I don't think anyone has the right to dictate to Asch what he can and cannot do to help himself in times of grief."
She was trying to keep things calm, or even try and keep things quiet, She didn't wish further discussion about this pokemon to continue. "I understand your concerns, but perhaps this is something to be brought up at a different time Izaya... If you really must." tilting her head a little as she looked down at her partner, then stood up. Looking over to Kunai.
"Elite Kunai," Faleen spoke, taking on a tall and respectable posture when addressing the Elite. "Ma'am, excuse me, My name is Agent Faleen, I am Grunt Izaya's partner as assigned by Executive Seth. Orders by the medical lead in the infirmary, were that Izaya is to stay off of his feet and refrain from strenuous activity until he recovers more. As his partner I humbly ask that you reconsider having him walk back, in the event of further injury. If it takes much longer for him to recover, it will set back some important training..." This was all true, she did need her partner back as soon as possible, since their assignment they had a long way to go to be able to preform as efficiently as Asch and Aila had once done to benefit Team Rocket.
"I'll take full responsibility for his infractions, but I need him in the best possible condition, Ma'am..."
Normally, she would stay out of it, completely stay out of it when an elite was involved, and the other rocket was acting out of turn. But there had been that nagging in the back of her mind. She was, in a way responsible for Izaya now. This was something that Seth himself had decided. Already her own duty had failed, when Aila had done something for Izaya, Faleen should have, and look how that had ended. Faleen owed a debt she felt could never be fully repaid.

((OOC Note: Received permission from Kit for various actions in this post))
The Grunt was going to regret pointing a good finger at her. Before the Agent Faleen had approached her, the Elite quite quickly stomped down on that good hand with all the force she could muster in her own injured state. She would have preferred using a knife in all honesty, but alas, she was not carrying them with her at the moment since her injuries did restrict her movement a bit more than she cared for. Even with Faleen approaching her and speaking to her, the Elite's foot remained upon the man's hand, with her other foot balancing on top of that foot she was using to step on him. Despite what seemed like an action of anger, there oddly enough wasn't even a hint of such an emotion on her face.
"Your concerns have been noted, Agent Faleen," Kunai said, tone still in check. "However, I am also taking into consideration the fact that Grunt Nakura felt that he knew better than the medical lead. His own reprimand is merely reflecting his own actions at this point. So he will walk back to the infirmary, or if his legs can't handle it, he will be physically dragging himself across the floor of the base until he is back to the infirmary."
With that, she bent at the knees and jumped off the starting pad that was the grunt's hand, landing solidly on her feet a few inches away. "In a sense, Agent Faleen, this is also very important training for my department. My decision is final."
Rather than let Grunt Nakura pout like a child any longer, the Elite then bent down and grabbed onto what could have been called the man's "good arm." She might have been a small Elite, and she might have been injured, but she was still able to do her job. With that, she began to drag the larger man across the floor, pulling him towards the exit. She kept silent as she pulled him along like a Tauros pulling a plow, ignoring any complaints or struggles that might have occurred. Once she was at the exit, she pulled the man through, then paused thoughtfully to close the door after her.
If the Grunt was going to be obstinate, at least those participating in the service shouldn't have to be bothered by his complaints.

"This Pokemon belongs to me, now, -grunt-" Asch snarled as he continued to glare down at Izaya. "I'll do as I see fit." Hands balled up into fists, the red head gritted his teeth. While he physically was restraining himself, he was clearly starting to lose control of his mouth. He didn't care what it looked like, and he didn't care what Izaya thought about it. If he was this touchy over the necklace, he shouldn't have refused the pendant in the first place.
However, Faleen's hand on his shoulder drew his attention away from the grunt and towards his fellow agent. "I know that!" Asch snapped, clearly aggitated as he turned and walked away from the scene. He had to walk away, otherwise he might take things too far. "I haven't forgotten," he said in a calmer tone.
Eyed closed and arms folded, he merely listened as Izaya was dragged out of the room and the door closed. He just stood there with a deep scowl on his face, in silence. Izaya had defiled this service long enough. It was about time he was removed.

" - !!!" When Elite Agent Kunai's boot came down, Izaya's pain receptors wouldn't let him ignore the damage this time. His vision was hindered by spots of color, almost literally blinding him from the pain. He narrowed his eyes and grit his teeth but refused to cry out, waiting for the sensation to recede. His heart rate sped up considerably, making his blood pound in his ears, but still he refused to utter a sound. Not until he was sure he could form coherent words, which took longer than he expected.
Breathing a little harder than normal, teeth still gritted, Izaya listened to his partner's appeal to the Elite. Faleen hadn't given him a proper answer to his question. Tch... He turned his head away in disgust. So, Faleen wanted him to shut up too, did she? He supposed that really did mean he was already way out of line; the agent's reply to his question had indicated by just how much. Still, he still couldn't help ut have been annoyed at her lack of an opinionated answer.
Perhaps it had been because he'd brought up the subject of her sister.His bringing up the mention of Rosie may have been somewhat uncalled for. Faleen probably didn't want to talk about her sister just then. There was a good chance she was annoyed or even angry at Izaya for pointing out to the rest of the company present that Vany'n having previously been Rosie's pokemon. He guessed Faleen hadn't known that Aila had left the pendant to Izaya either, but Asch knew, and that was enough to piss him off. He thought he should have had a say in what became of the pendant too. Whatever. Let Asch do what he wanted. Izaya wasn't about to reclaim something he had previously turned away.
He hated how Faleen was treating him like some charge she was responsible for, but with the way things were, it seemed the devoted agent wasn't going to even risk angering an Elite. Like the mindless robots she worked on and the obediant subordinate her superiors wanted her to be, Faleen seemed to really believe her opinion didn't matter. Izaya looked repulsed. How inhuman.
Inhaling sharply as Kunai hopped off his hand, he opened his mouth once more, not ready to shut up just yet. Faleen hadn't taken Asch's side, so Izaya wasn't about to let the subject drop. He continued spouting angry questions, doing his best to keep his emotions out of his voice, but the pain that surged through his body was putting an extra strain on him that made everything more difficult.
"What are you doing, defending a trainer's contest pokemon?" he lashed out as Kunai began, slowly but surely, to drag him away. "You're marring Aila's memory! Giving her necklace to a lowly pokemon... Whether it's yours now or not doesn't matter. Is that pokemon even that special to you? It was a trainer's! It doesn't even match your color scheme! Red, black, and vicious is more your style, sulking in the shadows like some stereotypical, angsty teenager..." Wonderful. The pain must have really been getting to him if he was making stupid remarks like that that weren't even supporting his point. Focus, Izaya. Focus.
"What is wrong with you?! You're keeping that thing like a pet, pampering and spoiling it like its previous trainer did! Are you so sympathetic towards the trainers because Natalia is one of them?" he shouted louder than before, wanting to make sure he could be heard through the closed door and down the hall. If Asch didn't want to listen to him, at least everyone else within earshot would. Besides, there was something he had to say to the teen that he didn't think even Asch would likely ignore. He'd been mulling over it for some time, but he hadn't bothered to voice it until now.
"Think about it, Asch! You weren't on the mission with Aila because you got sick. You got sick because you got yourself worked up about Natalia that night. That makes Aila's death the result of your inability to choose between them. 'Who to care for - Rocket partner or childhood sweetheart?' The decision was just too much for you to handle, but now you don't have to make it anymore! You make a show of grieving, but you're secretly, ultimately glad that she's dead, aren't you?!"

The reaction she got from the Elite wasn't at all unexpected, she had hoped to avoid it... but at this point it was far too late. All she could do was watch, though there was a slight wince from the Agent, and her gaze remained firmly on the elite when she spoke. There was no arguing further, the Elite was very firm with her decision. "Yes Ma'am... Understood."
And that was all out of Faleen, she stepped to the side to remove herself from Kunai's way. Her hands remained at her side, only watching as the Elite literately started to drag Izaya out, and still he talked, yelled. Yelling at Asch, saying very surprisingly emotional things.
Lips parting slightly as she watched the doorway, this really did surprise her, he was... really getting worked up over this. Faleen had to admit, she was genuinely taken aback, and it was showing on her features. She didn't really expect this from him, not to this level anyway.
She didn't remain staring for too long though, turning away from the doorway to start walking back into the room, a more serious, almost solemn look on her face. Everyone has to learn this lesson the hard way, this is what Rockets get for caring about someone, Izaya gets to experience why now.

Asch remained standing where he was, even as he heard Izaya's shouts from down the hall as he was dragged away. He said nothing, but his posture spoke volumes, making it clear that he was indeed bothered by the words. As much as he wanted to pummel Izaya, though. He couldn't very well do that in front of an Elite, plus the fact that Aila's memorial service was still going on.
What an idiot, raving about how he was tarnishing Aila's memory by simply letting Vahy'n wear a necklace. When Izaya himself was showing such blatant disrespect at his partner's memorial service.
Finally the shouts faded away and Asch finally looked up. Cold green eyes glaring at the wall for a moment before turning around to see that Faleen was still there. Them being the only two that remained.

Her walk back to join Asch was in silence, the agent had his back to her, but when she was close enough for him to notice her, he turned, and for another long silence Faleen just stood and stared at him, only for a couple of seconds before her eyes drifted past him, and settled on Aila's casket.
"Don't take his words to heart, Asch." she said, crossing her arms over her chest. "I doubt anything, no matter what steps were taken on your part could have changed what happened."
She didn't say it here... but if Izaya really wanted to point fingers, and get angry at Asch, then perhaps he should consider his own actions during that raid, and his choices.
She turned back to him.
