Tess came from a jungle mostly full of poisons/toxic sludge that not many could survive in. Most of her family remains there, but she chose to wander elsewhere as she found it to be rather boring. Because of her previous home, she has a high resilience to toxins. Means well but its rough around the edges. Tess is a tom boy to the extreme, scoffing at anything girly or dainty. Vain and snobbish. Vivy is what you'd consider a high class gal and most definitely high maintenance. For all the good in her heart, which there is some, she tends to see herself higher than most, especially those she deems as 'enemies'. Caro was born to a whimsical magical family who runs a traveling fairgrounds (name to be determined), where everyone from the family assumes a believable position in one of the fair rides or games, later revealing themselves to be real. They enjoy the surprise and sometimes shock derived from the acts, but never truly mean to scare someone. It's all apart of the mystery!
Caro Korvas, from the time he was little, was fascinated with the Carousel, hence how he got the name. When he came of age to be choose which ride or game he wished to stand in for, he naturally chose the Carousel. He has never taken his saddle or scarf off since.
His family's magic is able to let themselves appear fake, like a statue or part of a ride, as well as give them the stamina to hold riders on their backs or if absolutely need be, as a sort of solid defense. Of course, the magic wont last long and there are times where riders can get a little too rough and leave bruises.

Rylaine was a sweet teddy bear like lion, once proud and strong but with a heart big enough to fit many. However one day, things happened he still can't explain. Via some source of dark magic, a malevolent spirit was infused within his body. Rylaine fought to keep control, but the spirit was powerful. While unsuccessful in taking over Rylaine's body, Rylaine wasn't able to fully purge the demon from his soul either. The result left Rylaine a timid, soft spoken and shy puppet, simply playing host to Korbavsh, the demon now taking residence in his body. Korbavsh forced him to pluck out his own eyes and sew buttons in its place, in order to show Rylaine how much control the demon still had over him. He attempted to mutate Rylaine's tail and split off from him, but only managed to form himself a set of eyes so he can see. Korbavsh however, remains limited in what all he can do and relies upon the rest of Rylaine's senses to thrive, including eating and speaking. Often times, both will fight to speak at the same time, causing it to look as if Rylaine suffers from some strange disorder.
