Aha. What a b***h. Offering her hand like she was some ‘friend’ of Jetts. They were more than friends…Date? That b***h said this was a date. What the hell. What the hell, Jett going on a date with a little…

A little slut is what she was. Raven just took Harmony’s hand and gave it a small shake. “Such a pleasure to meet you, Harmony.”

Play it cool, Raven. Now was not the time nor the place to get upset. Keep control of the situation and calm down.

The blonde drew in a breath then let out a little laugh. “Yeah, you could say we’re as close as siblings, to be honest. “

She locked her teal eyes with Jett’s and her look plainly said that he would be having a nice long talk with her later. “And, Harmony…how did you and Jett…start dating? He never told me about you at all, my dear. But, you must be something special to be going out with a guy like him.”

Another laugh escaped her mouth and she looked back to Harmony, eyes taking her in. There didn’t seem to be anything special about her. She wasn’t overly attractive…and her hair…well, whatever. If you wanted vomit colored hair, power to you. It wasn’t Raven’s favorite color by a long shot.

Girl did seem to have a good taste in both food and guys though. She had to give her that much.

If looks could kill...

Harmony was a great many things but stupid never was among them. Despite her words, her tone, she could see the anger beneath the surface. It was in her eyes and in the stiff way she was holding her body. It was even in the tense way her hand kept curling and uncurling. Harmony could feel herself dying many awful, painful deaths in her eyes and felt uncomfortable. Obviously, there was something going on here.

Jett didn't seem to care about it at all. He even managed to look comfortable. He explained all of this away as if it were nothing to be concerned about with an ease that made Harmony a little queasy. Siblings. She didn't buy it for a second. Raven obviously had it for Jett in a big way and either there was more than meets the eye here or Raven was just obsessed in some unrequited thing. Sadly, Harm couldn't say with any certainty which option it was. She, the girl who read people, couldn't put a finger on it and she was getting more uncomfortable.

Unlike Raven Harmony had no judgments about her one way or another. She wasn't catty like that. She simply saw an upset girl and felt like she was stuck in the middle of a situation she didn't know she was entering.

"Jett and I met at my coffee shop I guess about two weeks ago. Now here we are." She turned her violet eyes to the guy in question who still hadn't said anything to put her at ease. She didn't want to invite Raven to join them since this was technically a date but at the same token it seemed rude now to know she was there and not include her. Would someone save her from this damn awkwardness? She looked at the blond boy expectantly. "Jett?"

Either he needed to clear this up or she was going to leave. She had no interest in undue drama or gutless wonders that couldn't make up their minds. She was starting to get a bit testy.

“Relax, Raven,” Jett said, voice soft and soothing as if he were speaking to an upset child. “Just because I haven’t flaunted Harmony doesn’t mean she was some dirty little secret. Tonight was rather impromptu, I didn’t realize that I needed to relay to you every aspect of my nightly outings. But, if you’d like, I suppose we could take a stroll or something and I could catch you up on all the happenings in my life. Though, they’re not all as interesting as she is,” he said, gesturing to Harmony with a quaint, calm little smile.

He wasn’t the least upset by any of this and seemed as charmed as ever. “Are you here by yourself, Raven? You shouldn’t be eating alone. Unless you were just coming for takeout or something, then I suppose it’s all right to eat alone.”

It was absolutely disgraceful to subject any pretty young thing to eat alone in a public place, and—date or not—he wasn’t going to dismiss the girl. That would have been rude and quite ungentlemanly.

He leaned forward a bit, giving her a most innocent smile as he propped his chin up in the palm of his hand as his elbow remained planted atop the table. “I mean, if you’re busy—of course I understand. We can catch up some other time, maybe this weekend, Raven? I’d love to hear what you’ve been up to the past few weeks. Had any fun with Darwin, or Mary, or that blonde girl from the Surrounding—what’s her name? Oh, Candice. I’m sure you’ve seen at least one of them recently, yes?” he prompted, a subtle reminder that Raven had done her fair share of lip locking and—therefore—he had nothing to be ashamed of.

He and Raven might have kissed on a few occasions, though they’d never really set up a relationship to be involved in—or, at the least, Jett hadn’t been aware of engaging in one.

Raven raised a brow at Harmony, wondering why she suddenly seemed so gosh darned jumpy. She didn’t think she was acting too pissed off, no, she was on the outside, perfectly calm. The blonde gave the mint-haired girl a smile. “Two weeks ago, hm? How lovely. How lovely indeed.”

She listened to Jett’s stupid little speech about the people she hung around—and yes, she had locked lips with a good many of them…all of them, in fact..well, all but Mary. That didn’t matter though. That was before Jett and her started dating…that wasn’t cheating on Jett then. If she were to make out with one of them now, yeah. That would be cheating. But…Before was just…stupid hormones from being away from home and whatnot.

Oh well. They would have a nice long talk, later. Right now she just wanted to go home and fume. Or go and patrol for a while…maybe take her anger out on some homeless saps or something stupid like that. Yeah.

The blonde gave another cheery smile and shook her head. “Well, I’ll just excuse myself now. I never meant to interrupt your date, please, go back to your kissing and your sushi. Jett, I’ll see you at school and stuff.”

Harmony heard Jett’s speech and it sounded eerily similar to a challenge. A kid taunting in the school yard “anything you can do I can do better.” It didn’t make her feel at ease and the fact that he invited her to join them on their date mildly horrified her. Perhaps if Raven didn’t come off as quite so much of a jealous psychotic b***h Harm wouldn’t have minded. The fact that they both seemed to be playing off each other in a negative way, pointing out each other’s conquests, did little for her peace of mind. She was stuck in the middle and if they were just trying to one up each other on the player scale she wasn’t interested.

And this had started off like such a good evening. She’d really liked him.

She likes you.” She paused, clarified. "She thinks she has ties to you."

Harmony was quick to observe that as soon as Raven walked away. Her saccharine sweet tone didn’t fool the mint haired girl one bit. Raven didn’t know her talent at reading people as well as Jett did so of course she was going to be confused as to why the girl could see right through her façade. She was cold even after the girl walked away

Look, Jett, one of the reasons I liked you was because you play this game as well as I do but I don’t want any extra drama. It seems to follow me like a bad penny already. She’s got an extreme case of jealousy over you. You can feel it coming off of her.

She spread her hands on the table, fanning out of her fingers and trying not to act as upset as she was by all of this. Clearly, there were issues between the two of them and clearly they were not resolved and clearly, at least one of them thought Harmony was intruding in a big way. She had no interest in being the other woman. In fact, she had no interest in anything past finding a guy she could be herself around and have some fun. And she’d had that…up until Raven burst in on them. So as good as she felt before he’d kissed her was about as bad as she felt now.

You guys seem to have issues. She’s way possessive of you and you either don’t notice, don’t care, or want to keep her just close enough to jones for you so you have her anytime you want. I’m not like that. I like you, Jett, but I’m not gonna be like her. Those types of games I don’t play.

She stood up to pay and leave, thinking that this was not the date it should have been. If Raven aimed to break it up she'd done a good job. And if Jett wanted to stop her, so much the better. She wanted him to tell her that she was being silly and that Raven was nothing more than a friend who wished she was more and didn't want to see him with anyone else. That he liked her, too, and meant that kiss. She'd meant it and now wondered if it was wasted.

Oh, yes. Jett could feel the jealousy radiating off of Raven, but that certainly wasn’t the first time he’d felt such—and quite honestly, he rather enjoyed it. Not because it meant Raven was suffering, but because it meant that she was deeply invested in the situation and was willing to get upset over it for him.

He had noticed Raven’s feelings for him a long time ago, and for a few years it had just been that he didn’t care and hoped the girl would realize that on her own, though now, the more time he spent with her, the more he was questioning his own motives.

Jett was the sort of guys who played many games, though even some games were taboo too him, and while flirting was fun and all, he would back off when it got to be too much. He’d lead girls on before, but always made it very clear that ‘fun and games’ did not mean marriage and children in the very near future. He had far too much that he wanted to do in his life, and relationships only bogged you down. His mother had learned the hard way that not all men were good men, and in a bit of self loathing, Jett wondered how much of his father he’d inherited.

He reached for the glass of ice water on the table, not looking at Harmony. Raven had ruined the evening, and yet he couldn’t find it in himself to hold it against her. Even when Harmony said they had problems, he chose not to acknowledge the truth of the situation, instead taking a sip of the water before he lowered it, eyes still locked on the floating ice cubes.

”If you want to go, I won’t stop you,” he said only, voice—albeit somewhat distant, at least still casual. “You’re a big girl, Harmony, and a smart one, too.”

She was probably making the best decision to just leave. Jett couldn’t bring himself to pine over anyone—couldn’t allow that sort of emotion to push through him, so he didn’t bother. It was easier being aloof, calculating and manipulating but not really caring. He had emotions—everyone did—but he was well trained in not acting on them and keeping himself in check.

Apparently in everything other than flirting.

It hadn’t been his intention to cause any sort of distress between either of the two girls; it was just taking someone interesting out for dinner and a good time, though quite clearly the evening had soured. “I won’t be held responsible for her actions, and if you aren’t comfortable with seeing me knowing that Raven is a passionate, free spirited girl, then it’s quite possibly in your best interest to just move right along. At least that way you won’t end up getting hurt,” he mused; his tone wasn’t apologetic, but had taken on a rather pensive tone as he watched the glass. Oh, sure, things could have gone much better, but there was no way to turn back time, and Jett wasn’t going to jump into a lie to try and make everything all right. He had nothing to confess to, but he certainly wasn’t going to deny that Raven was a part of his life—particularly in the aspect that they worked together, and if he had to salvage any relationship, it was going to be the one with the girl who knew his powered and civilian identity, no matter how appealing Harmony might have been.

"Wow."

Could a state of delusion this large be called a country? A continent? Even without knowing what he knew about Raven and having a powered identity she knew what callous was when she heard it. He was basically telling her that she was over reacting when clearly she didn't think so. She knew that all she was to him was a game. Inside she felt stupid and impotent and he'd all but told her to run away.

Calling Raven free spirited was like calling an apple and orange. While they had similar size, shape, and weight...everything else was absolutely different. The girl was a shark pretending to be a house pet. A predator pretending to be prey. A ******** wolf pretending to be a sheep. And everything she'd said was because she felt she had claim over Jett. And this was something the boy didn't even have the decency to deny. She hadn't expected one date to turn into a relationship and God knew she was only 16 and not even thinking of marriage. But she had expected a boy asking her on a date to be...you know...available.

"You are so not who I thought you were. I mean...you really don't give a s**t about me, do you? I may be a flirt but at least I care about people. I play games for fun. I don't use people and hurt them."

If she had to create a laundry list of what he'd done wrong it would probably reach the floor. He couldn't even look at her. Didn't deny that he and Raven were involved in some kind of sick competition, tied to one another and seeing who else they can collect on the side, and seemed above all not to care in the slightest that she was distressed by this situation or how she'd been treated.

She reached down for her purse, pushing back the tears so he wouldn't see them. Thank God she'd come on her own so she didn't have suffer through trying to find a ride or walk home. He didn't even apologize or try and prevent the attack. He even managed to look...pleased by it. Is that what he expected her to do? Be some possessive b***h that acts catty and mean every time another girl comes around? She wasn't that kind of a girl. She believed in honesty and respect and clearly she had none from him.

"Goodnight, Jett."

Jett’s smile had faded and his lips pursed just slightly. This hadn’t been a game to him to see who he could hurt and what games he could play with people’s hearts and emotions, but apparently that’s all tonight had turned into. He tapped his fingers lightly across the table and then glanced over at Harmony’s back.

He couldn’t tell what her expression was, but he didn’t really need to. Her posture and words gave him a fine impression of what he could expect if she turned around. Jett didn’t particularly like insults to his character, though this seemed to be an instance he wasn’t going to argue against.

“For what it’s worth,” he said after a short moment, doubting his words were worth anything at all to the girl right now. “…I didn’t come here to give you any hard times. I’d wanted to spend dinner with you. Raven was unprecedented and,” he sighed, “I apologize for ruining the evening.”

…Even if it hadn’t exactly been his fault.

He pushed himself up from the table and discarded a few bills just for the sake of it. “…Be safe on your way home.”
