"And what if the female is better than you?" she asked, keeping her tone mildly curious as she stretched lazily, her tail swaying slightly behind her. "What if you fail to be the equal of the female? Have you considered that possibility? Or are you so very confident that none could be higher than you?"

His eyes sparked a dangerous glint at the question. Females had an inferior role,aside from the importance of providing new generation, in the pack he'd grown up in. "She'd better accept that I'm the heir to the pack.. and as such she is my equal in all ways." He wasn't stupid, he knew there'd always be some one younger, stronger more cunning, after all it was these reasons he was biding his time to wipe his father from these lands and existence all together.
Finished with mutilating the corpse for now, he licked his paw as he watched this female for a moment. He didn't know her name,didn't care much. For not to him she was just some passing female, he didn't see anything in her that interested him past her looks to be strongly built and the fact she was female. but strong build and gender were only half the battle for him.. he wanted exceptional expertise. Some one who could be as twisted and corrupt as him.

She smirked a bit at his answer. It was an interesting answer, full of arrogance. Clearly, he didn't think it possible for a female to surpass him. One could work with that. Arrogance and conceit made for an easy puppet. Now, how long he could hold her interest was another matter. She could see from the dismissive way he looked at her that he was less than impressed with her. That was fine. She didn't need to impress him, she simply needed to ensure there were no other candidates for his affections, such as they might be.
Not that she cared for affections. But one never knew with males. They were a sentimental species and that was what made them weak. Perhaps this one would be different, but she doubted that.
"I would be interested in seeing this pack of yours," she decided, nodding once as if she had been invited. She was jumping topics a bit, but she didn't care. If he couldn't keep up then that was his own loss.

Hez flicked an ear and gave a snort. "To see the pack?" He leered at her a moment. "You interested in joining the cause or something?" He smirked lightly. "If so, you'd likely have to prove your worth to the current pack leaders." He stood and looked over his shoulder at her. "Very well then.. We could always use more... contributing members I guess.. just don't expect any ultimate acceptance right off." With that he took the doe in his mouth and started back towards the way he'd come.

She followed, watching how he moved, making note of it. One never knew what tiny details would come in handy in the future. Once again, she considered his words. How...cute. He thought she'd be just another follower in his pack. Silly little kitten. He'd learn though. She considered telling him now. But it would be so much more amusing to see how long it took him to figure it out on his own.
For now, he interested her. She found him entertaining, and even wondered how long it'd take to break this arrogant male. For now, she decided, he was hers. It was just a matter of time before he figured it out. Unless he was truly dimwitted. If that was the case, he might not be as much fun... but then again, a healthy dose of viciousness could counterbalance the lack of intelligence.
Another smirk curled her lips. This was always the best part about finding a new toy. The shininess of learning its weaknesses and strengths.

He drug the carcass as he walked in his feral form, the blood trailing behind has it created it's own drag marks in the ground. He was light on his feet, carefully stepping even dragging his kill. It was like he was always expecting some one to come out of the shadows to take him out. And why shouldn't he? He didn't trust his conniving brother as far as he could toss him with his tail.

She watched him, wrinkling her nose at the trail he was leaving. He seemed prepared for an attack, but clearly didn't know how to cover his path very well. Maybe he was used to being attacked because he was such an easy target. Well, that would have to be fixed. If that was the case, anyway.
"Do you require help?" she asked, her tone honey and condensation.

Hez smirked and set his kill down at the edge of the pack lands. "Nope.. let anyone who dares follow this trail.. Not like they'll fine anything but the blood in the tree." He chuckled. Picking the carcass up once more, he climbed the tree and stashed the remnants of his kill on a high branch like a leopard in the wild would. Sure his mother would find it later more than likely but it kept his father from gloating about eating it.

"You could just say one can never be too careful. To move asthough you're not ready for an attack would surely be a stupid mistake to make any met their doom." He dropped down from the tree and resumed his soquili form with easy. "As for my name.. I never gave it.." He seemed to think weather or not he should anyways. "Heziah..." It wasn't like it mattered to him what she thought of his name any ways. it was his.. and he'd always thought it sounded as cruel and merciless as he truly could be.

"Heziah," she repeated, tasting the name. "Well, it isn't a terrible name. I can live with it, I suppose." She would still think of him as Frosty, until he gave her reason otherwise. She considered making a comment about claiming him now. Just to see how he would react. However, she decided to hold off until she had more time to observe.

He snorted a bemused laughter at her words. "You'll have to.. I'm not changing it for you or anyone else." Turning, he stepped into the pack lands. "These are the beginnings of our lands.. here what the alphas say is law.. to falter with it and go against means your death." Stopping he looked back at her. "I'd wager that you shouldn't have many issues in acceptance though.. you are female after all." It sounded a bit cheeky of a remark.. but fact of the matter was, outside males would always have an issue with gaining the trust of the pack simply because they were rivals.

He did not just dismiss her because she was female. She knew he didn't. Because that would be foolish and stupid of him. However, just in case that was what he'd meant, she shifted back to her own equine form and swatted at him. With her claws out, taking care to draw blood.
No one, no one, hinted, implied, or claimed that she was a follower or lesser in any way. Not in jest, not seriously. Not even her favorite toy of the moment.

He felt claws rake against his hide and knew he'd have a crimson trail of blood to follow. With a snarl, he spun around, ears pinned back to his head, teeth bared and swatted back at her, clearly aiming for her face. "Such acts of aggression are not tolerated in these lands." Deadly sinister unadulterated malice dripped like venom from his every word. How dare she attack him. He'd stated a fact, little more and she dared to attack a member of the pack she sought to enter...

"Such comments as the one you uttered will not be tolerated in my presence," she snarled, leaping back to narrowly miss his retaliatory strike. She had expected it, and thus been braced. The fur of her pelt stood on end and her tail whipped back and forth like a weapon. "Dismiss me because of my gender again, boy, and I'll do worse than mark your hide. I do as I please, always. Do not mistake my amusement as submissiveness."
She braced herself, her claws out and every muscle ready for a fight.
