"Take the straight and narrow path, And if you start to slide-" For a brief moment there was clarity, and Jerry realized exactly what he was doing, and what was swarming in a massive pile of clawing hands and gnashing mouths and flickering eyes. His voice trailed off, his knees buckling as he felt the edges of a swoon take him.

"G-g-give a little whistle-" Jerry wobbled, much quieter now until he registered his weapon screaming in his head. What? Oh! Blast! RIGHT. Breath hitched in his throat and hands moving on autopilot, Roar suddenly erupted with all the pent up collected Fear the little shadowlings had left in him, the hands just barely touching Jerry's jacket before being thrown back, dashed to pieces by the sonic blast that sent the hunter tumbling backwards off his feet. Cass didn't move to step in when Jerry got into his bind, instead letting the hunter do his own thing and RELEASE THE LEVIATHAN (or whatever species that weapon was, she wasn't sure, actually) on the shadows. She herself still didn't have Nicodemus in any condition to do just that, but still she didn't want to be outdone by the other hunter and his impressive display.
Which might have been the fuel behind:
Boom, headshot, boom, headshot, slice, stab... she wasted no energy, or mercy, on her final wave of shadowlings, just grinning the entire time. And while Jerry faltered for a moment on singing along with her, Cass just hummed even louder to make up for it.
That's kind of an annoying song.

Shadows shadows shadows, they were in the thick of it now, but the darkness was pealing away from his last blow. He was loosing steam as well as approaching the end of the song. He stumbled to his feet, tripped, and ran towards the blessed beam of white light at the end of the tunnel- light light fantastic, amazing, visible light! Singing turned into a frantic hum, his shoes suddenly scrambling across the stone floor as a wave cut Cass out of view. "Ah...! Ah!! C-c-c-" He gulped for air, nearly dropping his cannon. With a swing it was back on his shoulder, blasting the last handful that cut off his way and finally LEAP through the doorway without much more to-do, nor real care to see if Cass had actually crossed through herself. Blessed, blessed Halogen... Status Wave: 5Attack Dmg:3 Total Shadowlings taken out:31 Recoveries left:0

Cass moved through the portal after him, brushing off her pants once on the other side and desummoning the gunblade she bore, it settling around her hips again. However, the grin was still firmly planted on her face.
"You did pretty damn good, Jerry! I even beat my own score from last time." she did a slight fist-pump action. Oh, that was really exciting!
She walked over and patted the sun trainee on the back, beaming. "See? That wasn't too bad." Her arms were a bit sore though from swinging that gunblade around and she probably needed to go get some water and relax a bit ******** Jenga. She would make it her b***h someday. She would.
"How about you and me go get something to eat to celebrate, hmm?" she offerred. Probably nothing fancy because..well..it was the island, but it was still an option and a fun way to socialize more if he wanted.

"I'm fine." He squeaked, eyes glued ahead as he stood in the white receiving room, hugging Roar so tightly one of the quills just barely missed his eye, threading through his glasses and across his nose, another just saved from piercing his cheek by the tougher scars, (thankfully). "I'm f-fine." He blinked a few times as he realized she had asked him a question. "Ah... w-what? Oh! Er! Sure! Yeah I could... I could go for a drink," He laughed a bit too enthusiastically, before relaxing ever so slightly and desummoned his weapon. "I mean. Tea or coffee or something."

Cass grinned. "Coffee sounds awesome to me." She was sixteen, why was she so keen on coffee? Then again, it was probably better to her than tea was. So finicky, those teenaged tastes. Either way, she linked her arm with that of the older man's, as though she was going to break out into the Wizard of Oz and go skipping off down the Yellow Brick Road with him.
"Shall we, then?" she glanced at the other portal as the next player entered before pulling on Jerry's arm to get him out of there and to a....funner place, if nothing else. Yes!
Off to see the (Coffee) Wizard!
