"I think I'll pass, honestly." Just looking at the 'food' was making her queasy, and she didn't care if she was offending the cafeteria worker. For all she knew, he hated the food here as well. She couldn't blame him. "Otto's right- looks more like paint than anything." Sighing, Reine looked around the cafeteria. Were people seriously downing bowls of gloop like there was no tomorrow?
Maybe they were drugged, so that eventually, people had no choice but to eat them.
"Wanna check out the vending machines?" There were snacks, peanuts and small packets of crisps, amongst other things, and in one corner...
The closest thing to heaven in this place: a machine that sold hot sandwiches. "GUYS, LOOK, GUYS, I THINK WE'RE SAVED?" Waving them over, she examined the machine more closely.

It seemed as if they were saved when Reine noticed the sandwich machine, but the feelings of relief quickly dissolved when she realized that there was only one sandwich left in the vending machine.
...Uh oh. This wasn't going to be like one of those comedy movies where they all started to fight amongst each other for the last toy, book, or--in this case--sandwich, was it? Eva immediately held up her hands and took a step back, grimacing at the ridiculous image that had just flashed through her mind.
"Er, well, there are other machines here." Not that any of the offered snacks were exactly filling or healthy, but--
Wait a minute. Would they have to go through this everyday?

One chicken sandwich. One? Well then..
"If we run around like morons lookin' for another sandwich machine, then someone might take this one while we're gone." Otto reminded them, fishing around his pockets for change. If they wanted another machine, good for them! Otto was in the mood for some chi---
What he pulled out wouldn't even cover half.
He furrowed his brows, moving the change around in his palm. "This place seriously wants me to starve." He clasped his hand, looking from one girl to the other. "Wanna split it?"

Reine was already calculating the best way to split it. Lengthwise? Breadthwise? Oh. Hey, that was a good one.
"We can cut it into three," she volunteered. "Breadthwise."
The other two might wonder why she was grinning so widely, and looking at them so expectantly.

Eva sighed, digging in her own pocket for some change. "That works. I suppose we could buy some snacks from the other machines after and split those as well." Man, this was really kind of...well, sad, wasn't it?
She looked up as Reine spoke, and was about to nod in agreement--breadthwise, why not--but she noticed the look on the girl's face. Eva stared, and stared, and stared some more. Then she turned to look at Otto questioningly before finally glancing back to--
--OH. "Hahaha, I get it!"

"Huh? Was that 'sposed to be a joke?" Otto asked bluntly, blinking slowly.
He huffed, stuffing his changed into Eva's hand. "Just buy the damn sandwich, woman."

She gets it!! Reine felt her heart practically soaring at Eva's comment- and then it practically sank to the depths of the ocean. Thanks, Otto.
"Kids these days," she muttered, smacking him over the head. "Just don't get good jokes..."
Pulling out her wallet she emptied coins out of it, and handed whatever there was to Eva. There wasn't much, but Eva was right- they could get other snacks and split those. Though, she hoped the food at least tasted good, after they'd gone through all this trouble.
"Maybe we should come here earlier, tomorrow.. maybe there was more stuff than just that awful gloop. God, I hope they don't recycle it..."

Eva laughed at the smack, taking the offered coins and turning back to the machine so that she could purchase their breakfast. "It was a good joke," She assured Reine, grinning as usual, "Maybe he'll appreciate it when he's older." She was speaking as if there was a huge age gap between Otto and the girls, even though she knew that the gap was probably only 3 or 4 years at most.
...But then again, Otto had just called her "woman". "By the way, Otto, that's Evie. Ee-vee."
Once the sandwich was purchased, she picked it up and jangled the change in her hand. "Let's pick up some snacks and then go eat." Eva turned to look at Reine then, nodded in agreement, "Yeah, we should come out earlie--oh god, please don't even suggest that." She looked vaguely horrified, casting a look in the direction of the cafeteria and shuddering.

Otto did not appreciate being smacked. How did he retaliate?
Otto smacked her back.

He returned a glance to Eva, narrowing his gaze. "I'll call ya whatever I feel like." He muttered grumpily. So far he hadn't called anyone by their name, other than Caelius.
"Yeah, I'll get up early if it means skippn' out on paint fer breakfast."

"Eep!" She squeaked when Otto smacked her back, instinctively hopping away- she hadn't seen that coming at all- but instead of getting angry, Reine laughed it off.
"Always stay cute, Otto. Always stay cute. Puppy's growing up so fast though, eh? He's already learning to fight back~" It was nice- comfortable, somehow, being with the two of them. They were always bickering about something or other, she'd noticed, but it wasn't so much fighting as it was just teasing.
"Wanna go outside instead of sitting in here? Or, we could always go check out Otto's room. I bet it's messy."
And wait! Speaking of Otto learning to fight back...
"Hey, what've you guys got planned for the rest of today, anyway? I heard there were training courses we could do... You two interested?"

"Suit yourself, but I'm just going to call you 'Puppy' like Reine now, then." Eva chuckled, finding the nickname to be quite an amusing one. Turning to Reine, she winked, deciding to play along. "Someday our little puppy will be old enough to date girls! But right now, he's still just a young little thing."
They girls were having fun at poor Otto's expense (but they love you Otto, really).
She grinned at the suggestion to check out how messy Otto's room was--she was under the assumption that it was probably already a mess as well--but her expression turned into one of curiosity when Reine mentioned training courses. Eva wasn't entirely sure what those courses entailed, but...
"Count me in!"

Otto's temples seemed to have veins popping up as the girls belittled him, that wretched nickname seeming to stick. "You ain't seriously gunna keep callin' me that?!" He grouched, curling his lip. "And hey hey hey! I've dated already, I'm plenty old enough!" He wasn't twelve, godammit!
He crossed his arms, giving both girls a narrowed glare as they spoke. "Stay outta my room." He snapped back.
FYI: Otto's room is a pig sty.
Training courses? Was it different than a battle? "Sure, whatever." Otto mumbled, shifting in place. He never seemed to look happy.

"You've what?" Reine looked over at the boy dubiously, then at Eva. "y'know, we're not counting playdates from when you were a tiny kid..." admittedly, Reine had never been on what she'd considered a proper date, either, at eighteen; maybe she just didn't want to think Otto had one up over her.
"I guess all votes are for a training course, then! Maybe we'll eat as we walk..." Reine's stomach was growling; a sound she tried to cover up as she looked somewhat hungrily at the sandwich in Eva's hands.
"Count yourself lucky, puppy. I guess you managed to skip the room check for today, huh?"

Eva couldn't help but giggle at Otto's defensive statement, and then burst out laughing at Reine's. God, she loved these guys--where would she be without them? Bored, for one thing! She slung an arm around Otto's shoulders, a wicked grin spreading over her lips. "But tell us, Otto...what was this girl who you went on a playdate with like? Was she the cute kind?" He was way too much fun to tease, that was for certain.
Eva felt a flutter of excitement as it was decided they would head towards the training course. At the suggestion about eating while they walked, she held the sandwich out to Reine. "Why don't you do the honors and cut the bread breadth wise?" She suggested with a grin, throwing the girl's pun right back at her.
And of course, they couldn't let Otto go so easily. "Let's hang out in puppy's room after we're done with the training course."

"WHAT?!" Play date? How naive did they think he was?! Otto huffed indignantly "My girlfriend was the bitchy kind. Nagged me all the time. But she put out, so whatever." Smooth, Otto. Smooth.
Naughty Puppy.
"Yeah yeah, well I ain't responsible for casualties when ya walk in." Otto explained, crossing his arms and huffing again.
