Draft blinked as his sister told him about a poetry contest. Had she really stayed there to listen to his music just because they had made a deal. Something warmed in him. He had stayed for her and she had stayed for him. Despite their desires they kept their world and had a better understanding of each other.
"Ack! Hey! Wait for me!" he took off behind her. He lead her to his shortcut to the bookstore but the contest was over. He frowned a bit, knowing she had wanted to enter it. But then they ran off to the signing area. As with the bookstore his event was over too. But he still felt happy. He understood his sister a bit more now that he had seen her create.
"Ok Taquita. How about another deal?" he went into the store and made a purchase. "How about we each have 'our time' in the house. During your time I can wear these," he held up a pair of headphones he had bought, "so my music only can be heard by me. You will have all the silence you want but I can still work. I can't wear these headphones all the time or it will damage my hearing. Mom says so. But when it's my time I can play my music as loud as I need to. Deal?"

Taquita didn't mind missing the poetry contest either. She had actually had a fun day by the end of it!
The deal sounded good to her. Plus, mom would probably thank her for at least a little quiet around the house. By staying loyal to to her family instead of looking out for her own interests, Taquita had won some peaceful time. She wasn't so sure she liked the idea of Draft playing his music as loud as he wanted but, "Alright, you have a deal. During your time, I'll just leave the house and go and spend some time in Uncle Honey's garden."
She gave a sheepish grin and blushed a bit with embarrassment, "and maybe we can do this again some time? Spending time with you wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be."
