"No I mean-" She paused and glanced at the door as Jude gestured to it. "Yeah, I guess she's probably meaner than I am huh?" She smiled at him but even she could feel that her face was not conveying mirth in the slightest. Wrapping what was left of her half of a sandwich back into it's plastic wrap and stuffed it into her purse. She wasn't really sure what to say so instead she moved to the side so that Jude could get to the exit.

"If you want we can walk home together?"

Okay, so she admitted it to herself. It had been a while since she'd hung out with the boy but she missed it. Unlike most of the other girls in the neighborhood it wasn't his brother that she'd gone over to see. There was no way she was going to force either of them to play My Little Pony or watch old CareBears movies though. That would be cruel.

As soon as the snuffling began Genevieve had a sinking feeling that Jude would not appreciate it at all if she wrapped herself about him to keep him warm. So instead she just stepped outside with him and in her usual bossy manner snaked an arm about his to keep him close. Without giving him room to protest.

That was better than becoming a girl-shaped coat, right? Right.

Nodding her head at his question she smiled brightly. "Yeah, I'm at the same place." She wasn't old enough for her own apartment yet. Not mentally at least, and she recognized that she still needed her parents about. Even if most of the time it was grating and extra stress to live with them. It would be nice if they could all live somewhere nicer and safer but that would never happen so the girl put on a brave face, pulled up her big girl panties(so to speak), and carried on. "Are you sure you want to come over to my place first? We can drop the milk off so She isn't kept waiting." Genie knew the boy next to her didn't like forcing his mother on other people, but she was a big girl and could handle it. Besides someone needed to teach Jude to stand up to the woman. Even if that was never going to actually happen.
