Otto felt accomplished having sent the kid flying a few feet. He smirked back at Gale, feeling good and cocky now.
That was his downfall.
Otto didn't have time to try and run, having been lost in his own ego, and took a direct hit to the gut from the butt of the rifle. He let out a winded grunt, staggering backward. He used his weapon as a mans to lean on as he caught his breath, gripping his stomach while he glared daggers at the other hunter.
For now, he waited for an opening.

Otto's glare was rather unpleasant. Gale cocked one eyebrow, tilting his head and slanted a gaze at the other. He spun the rifle around and aimed a shot at the other's arm.
"That's not a particularly nice look."

Otto hissed at the next shot, but simply ignored the pain for now. It wasn't as hard a blow as others had been, and he had bigger things to worry about. He had a fight to complete!
And fight he shall!
"Yeah well I ain't a nice guy." Otto snorted, moving to lift his weapon to take a swing at Gale. It might have worked if he hadn't tripped. Oops.

Gale smirked, amused in spite of himself.
"Yeah, well, so I've seen. Considering you came up and kicked me - a complete stranger - in the side."
He suppressed a laugh at Otto's trip - the swung the rifle back around and directed it at the other's leg again. Instead of actually shooting the rifle, however, he grabbed the barrel and used it to whack the butt of the rifle against the back of Otto's leg.

BAM.
Another whack to the leg, and this one hurt, bringing Otto to his knee. He winced, grabbing his leg trying to rub out the pain.
"Aww." Otto coo'd in a snarky tone. "Cry me a river." He sneered at Gale "I'll try and remember to bring ya roses, next time."
He brought up his arm to try and wing the boomerang around to trip Gale.

"No roses necessary," said Gale cheerfully. He was feeling quite confident, considering that finally - finally - it seemed a fight was going his way for once.
He dropped down and swung his leg out in wide arc, knocking the other off their feet.
"Just praises will do," Gale added cheekily, smirking.

Otto yelped, swept off his feet by a kick,. He grunted upon impact, propping himself up on his elbows and glaring upward at Gale. Oh, he was getting mighty cheeky with him.
"Praise this, asshat!" Otto growled, kicking the other boy in the ankle.
...and totally missing.

Gale let his leg whip out and kick knelt down beside Otto, his expression melting into one of calm disdain.
"You're not going to get very far as a Hunter if you can't learn to respect your own teammates."

That was it. He was down. Any more hits and Otto was sure to be requiring a visit to Dr. H.
Otto sneered at Gale as he knelt down, cussing under his breath and de-summoning his weapon back into a bangle on his wrist. "I don't give a s**t. Ain't nobody gets my respect." The young blonde, pushed himself up to his feet, dusting himself off. "I'm outta here."

A smirk dusted Gale's face, but it turned to one of irritation rather quickly.
"Next time you decide to kick someone without introducing yourself, remember the fact that I kicked your arse and will do it again if I have to."
"Also have fun trying to get through this with that sort of attitude."
Gale shrugged, desummoned Jinhai, cast a small wave over his shoulder without looking back at Otto, and made his way from the training field.
