Growing Pains. (Dust Spin --> Child Quest*) Faust's nightmares seem to becoming a reality! Waking up one morning, Faust finds that everything is green - his room is littered with rich green leaves, vines of various widths reaching up the walls and wrapping around almost anything in their path. Unfortunately, in their bid to either root or find sunlight, they're beginning to try and press through the very flooring and ceiling! If Faust doesn't act fast, he may find his family Inn being torn down around his ears by his precious bottle! What does he do? How does he satisfy Willow's sudden need for growth? Can he save the Inn in time? Most importantly, how does Faust feel about this seemingly harmless bottle holding more than it initially appeared?*Please note, there's a minimum word requirement of 500 words for this quest.

____________________________________________________________________ solo o5._____________________________________________________________________ Blue eyes fluttered open slowly as the morning light danced through his window. It was a winter dawn, chilly and bright. The inn keep stirred and slowly tried to sit up.... however he couldn't. He raised an eyebrow, that was strange, why couldn't he move? His bright orbs drifted downwards and found himself strapped to his bed like a mental patient by what seemed to be vines. He gasped as began to struggle, it was too early for these shenanigans! He was not dumb enough to think this a dream, he knew his Willow was magical, but this was a little extreme even by supernatural standards.
His little trinket had become quite cheeky as of late, using it's long veins to steal things from his room, sometimes even grabbing his legs and tripping him over, and now it was taking over his all establishment!
When he first took the item in he would have never guessed it would lead to so much trouble, and he certainly would not have predicted an inanimate object having a personality, but this one did. If a bottle could cause so much trouble, could you imagine the child that was to be born of it? He did not know what to think right now, he did not know if he was scared, or angry or just in shock and in truth he did not have time to analyse his emotions. How could he when his world was being turned upside down.
He sighed, finally feeling the vines go loose around his arms. He grabbed the sheets and struggled out of them, before watching the vines tighten around his mattress. He gasped, was his precious little trinket trying to kill him? Finally he was able to look around. Everything was overrun! Vines of different sizes ran across his room, consuming almost everything, they were even flooding out the door! He jumped over the foliage, his pyjama top flapping out behind him. The hallway was just as chaotic and he could hear screams from upstairs, no doubt coming from his guests. This was not happening. This couldn't be happening!
"Willow! Stop this right now!" He scolded, however this only provoked the plantation, a vine swung for him. His eyes widened as he leaped to the floor to dodge the blow, his banister rail snapping in half through the sheer force of impact. It was trying to kill him! The inn keep sat on relatively large vine which lead down the staircase, and slid to the bottom level like it was a slide. He ran for the front door and the next thing he knew he was outside, a group of people had already gathered and he paused. What was going on here? He looked back at his beloved inn to see green seeping out of every window! Guests were hanging out of their rooms, screaming for help and people were placing ladders against the walls in attempts of rescue.
He did not need this! He had always been a respectable man and this kind of thing was not forgotten in such a tight knit community! This thing would ruin him! The blood left his face and he ruffled his hair, what was he going to do? He never signed up for this! Normally parenthood was not this complicated God damn it! Why him!
He clenched his fist and ran back inside, smacking leaves out of his way as he fought tooth and nail to return to his desk. On it rested his precious little Willow, glowing bright orange as the vines continued to sprout from it's top. He did not know what it wanted, but this had to stop, right this second! He picked up the bottle and hugged it close. "Please Willow, you are going to tare this place down." He expected his plea would fall on death ears, however to his surprise the glow dimmed. Was it, actually listening to him? "What am I doing wrong?" He muttered, a small sigh escaping his lips. He did not deserve this, he did not understand why Willow was so angry with him. What had he done?
One small vine raised, pointing upwards towards the window. Faust blinked and shook his head, the sun had broken the night completely now, and light flooded inside making the dust in the room sparkle as it fell. "Light, you want light?" He was astonished, so his little child was more plant than person? He did not think the bottle needed anything, maybe he should have thought it more as a seed, a beginning stage of life. Everything needed components to grow, and the promise of love was only one part of it.
The innkeep smiled, walking back towards the entrance, and as he did so the vines retreated, flooding back into the bottle and fading into an orange glitter dust. He needed to go apologise to the townsfolk, and also find his baby a nice windowsill to sit on. How was he going to explain that this giant leaf based monster was not meant to be feared, and how would Willow's tantrum effect his business.
All he could do was hope that from now on.
"I hope you know, that when you grow, or emerge, or are born or whatever - you are so grounded for this!"

____________________________________________________________________ solo o6._____________________________________________________________________ The last few days had been rather uneventful to say the least. Though in truth that was not helping the innkeep from sleeping any better. He found himself lying awake in the early hours, he was beyond counting sheep and had totally given up on the idea of rest. Regardless, he laid there, hoping that somehow he would drift off without even realizing.
It was then that he heard a noise from downstairs. He was used to guests roaming about at night, but this was different. He leaned up in bed, tilting his head to the side and listening out intently. He might be imagining things... No, there it was again, and it sounded like it was coming from the kitchen. He rolled his eyes, if he was not sleeping he might aswell go to investigate the source of this disturbance. He just very much hoped it was not more vines, his customers had only just come back from that mishap. He wrapped his robe around him, before grabbing his candle and going on his merry way.
He tried not to make any noise as he walked down the stairs, turning the corner curiously to see the door to the kitchen wide open. He raised an eyebrow, guests were not allowed to wander into that part of the establishment... Maybe it was a theif? or a raccoon? or something along the sorts. He pushed the door open just a little more, and shone the light inside. There was nobody here? He looked around, trying to catch movement from the shadows. Then he heard another noise, this one coming from the connected larder. He walked over to the door and pulled it open, blue eyes scanning inside to catch the source of the disturbance before it escaped.
What he saw shocked him. The innkeep put the candle on a nearby shelf instinctively, before looking down at the creature. Silence.
She had a moppy head of brown hair, and orange eyes. Her skin was around the same colour as his own, and she had a wheel of cheese in her mouth. He tilted his head curiously at the small child. Where had she come from? It was then that he noticed that her body was wrapped in vines, clinging to her like a blanket, it did not take him long to follow the strands to the bottle, which was not dim and lifeless on the floor in the kitchen. He looked back at the naked child, and got down on his knees.
"Willow. Come here... Willow." He reached out and held out his arms. The girl took another bite of cheese, before making her way over to the man, her legs still fresh and deer like. Faust grabbed the vines, pulling them off her bare frame one by one. She was so small, just born. He knew this day would come, but he still never believed it would really happen. Willow. She was here.
He smiled. Pulling off his rode and wrapping it around her naked frame so she did not catch a cold. He did not know what to say, would she even understand him?
He opened his mouth so speak, only to get two fingers making contact with his eyes. He let out a yelp and held his face. Falling backwards onto his backside. The peace of the moment had ended. The girl grabbed the cheese, stuck out her tongue and made a run for it laughing. Faust, with tears in his eyes, looked up at the roof.
Why him?
Why was it always him?
