Domey followed the General-King, still in some state of partial disbelief as he listened to his duties and.. how to go about them.

"What?" Energy? He let his bag slump down to the base of the bench and bent over the hobo (who, he might add, did not smell very wonderful). He hesitated over the grimy skin before he reached out and touched it. He didn't feel anything at first, no matter how he concentrated. Just the pulse of a heart, the raspy rise and fall of a chest, but then.. something like a current, rippling beneath the skin.

He concentrated and pulled, until a glowing orb began to fill his hand. He was busily staring wide eyed at what he was doing when Zink's casual words over what Domey interpreted as murder passed his ears. He started immediately and jolted upright, forgetting what he was doing.

"Wait, why the hell would we - " he paused as the energy ball began to slip from his fingers. He stooped and caught it just before it shattered on the ground but couldn't help a confused glance back at the General King. "Why would we kill people?"

“Because this is a war, if you were faced with one of those ‘Senshi’ trying to kill you or force convert you, brainwash you into their ways, which believe me is entirely possible, then it’s an option you may very much come to value.” His voice was quiet and dark edged like a storm cloud. Something odd and personal lingered behind the words ‘convert’ and ‘brainwash’.

“There are those among them, who wish to ‘save’ us that way, taking away the free will that brought you to US, taking away anything that might lead you to doubt what they say, their cleverly assembled very nearly plausible sounding propaganda that entirely fails to account for any of what I will show you in the Rift, our sanctuary and the once great strong hold of Earth.”

A small pause and his eyes narrowed, gazing out over the roofs of the city, skyward as though he expected to see something, or someone there. “Others, say we are simply not worth even trying to save, less than human, monsters like the Youma that they made possible. Worthy only to be hunted down and killed for sport. I imagine he struts about and brags about how many of us he has fought, and killed.”

He glanced down at the fallen energy sphere and then back to the Hobo, holding out his hand he concentrated just enough to re-create it, never once touching the man it appeared over his hand like a pearl before dropping into the half gloved palm. He offered it to you with a solemn gaze. “Well done, but if you drop them the energy returns to the target. He will sleep this off and feel little the worse for ware, perhaps he’ll feel better for not having soaked his sleep in cheep booze.”

Domeykite stood from his half-crouched position and reached for the energy orb that Zinkenite held out to him. He took it and, unsure suddenly what to do with it, simply held it awkwardly in one hand. His fingers curled around it, but not too tightly, and he let his arm fall level with his waist. He opened his mouth to ask what the point in the energy was but found that the conversation beforehand was much too appealing to die without question.

"What happens when they convert you? Do you become.. human again?" Was he now considered a non-human? He wasn't sure. He wasn't even really sure what the senshi, his new and unlikely enemies, even were. There was just so much he was unsure about.

What had he let Zac, er, Zink drag him into?

He glanced back down at the hobo with a shrug. It didn't matter much to him if a hobo lived or died, what were they really contributing to society? He didn't want to kill people willy nilly, but if it came down to his life or theirs, well.. he had used human meat shields in more than one game. What was the real difference?

He stooped to pick up the bag he had dropped but paused, realizing he didn't have enough hands for the energy, his weapon, and the bag. He set his megaphone down and slipped the bag on one shoulder, then grabbed his weapon and stood awkwardly trying to hold it all.

“To date, those whom they have taken became what you will learn to call ‘Knights’.” He said with a small tip of his head to one side, a dark warning look but he did continue. “You loose the will that let you choose this, you join them, believe their ideals in most cases without question. “Imagine, in one of your games if suddenly you had to change… from Horde to Alliance, suddenly being forced to love their Moon queen and believe utterly in all the little lies they tell to keep themselves sane.”

That was a perspective that Domeykite could understand. He took his factions very seriously in games and while making life out to be a video game could eventually be a bad world view for the teenager, it certainly made everything a lot easier to comprehend.

"You have no will power to choose?" His brows furrowed and he pursed his lips, toying idly with the handle of his megaphone. "They can just brainwash people into fighting for some.. silly princess?" The furrowed brow quickly rose and his face gave way to a disgusted expression.

Domey certainly didn't like anyone taking away his right to choose.

"I'll make sure I'm careful of that, I don't think you have to worry about me wanting to follow some ******** alien. They can keep their dirty hands to themselves."

“They don’t see it that way obviously, but they are drooling fanatic about the side they serve.” He curled a lip behind the mask in irritation at the idea. “But for all that they lack unity, small fracturing groups of senshi are more common than anything lasting, but almost all of them, save for a handful I’ve found who have slipped through the cracks at a ‘young’ age in their power ranks are willing to speak for any length of time rather than doing things like trying to set you on fire or drop a meteor on your HEAD.”

“For as peaceful as they say they are, they have seemed far less willing to try and sway us to their side than we are to sway them to ours. I think that alone speaks a great deal. I suppose you could think of them as…” He waved a hand thinking, grasping at terms. “Various levels of randomly generated boss fights, you’ll have to be mindful of your own rank when dealing with them or they will do you serious harm I’m afraid.”

Boss fights and ranking? That seemed like a pretty simple idea to follow, though he suspected his over zealous risks in games would not end as well if he tried them in real life. He certainly didn't want to be set on fire anytime soon.

"Got it." He nodded once in response to Zinkenite's warning, though in the pit of his stomach there was a mixture of excitement and apprehension. It was like his video games were manifesting into real life and yet.. they suddenly seemed much more dangerous for it. He wouldn't know until he actually tried to play the game, though.

"So.. now what?" He curled a hand around his bag, tightening and untightening out of habit. He was just waiting for Zink to make the next call.

“You’re a lieutenant, so your starting missions are simple, the energy like you just collected, we need that.” He waved his hand to encompass the city as a whole. “This of it as adventure fuel. You need to collect it to keep us working smoothly, it will give you interactions to learn from, and at the same time if you are hurt then it will help you heal, but you’ll need to fulfill quotas, do so consistently and faithfully and you’ll advance. The more you advance the more likely you are to find an area of specialty, be it fighting, taunting, even playing bait… there will be a roll for you, think of it as a specialty class.”

He’d never been so glad to have dallied in the arcades before or listened to prattling about some of those online war games. “Find an area where you can gather energy without being noticed, we do NOT want to be noticed by the general populous, let the senshi gather their media attention, or bring the attention to them but we aren’t here to create a panic.”

This guy really knew how to speak his language. Inside of Domeykite's brain the Negaverse was being mapped out like a finely tuned machine - or maybe just an ability map. Spend the experience, level up, find a specialty class.

He totally had this.

"Alright, enter stealth mode and collect energy. That seems easy enough." His eyes shifted around him as he glanced in each direction, trying to decide where he needed to head first. Where was the best place to do this s**t?

Well. He needed to find a place to stash his bag anyway.

He took a hesitant step backward, away from the General-King, and gave him an awkward wave with the hand holding his megaphone.

"So.. I'm just gonna go do that and stuff. I guess you'll be in touch?" Probably. If he based it on video game etiquette, Zinkenite would probably show up out of a dark alley with a mission update in the next couple of days. Or something like that.

A small laugh and a nod “Oh yes, I will be around. You will almost always be able to find me if you can get to the rift and find the War room, if you break the purple crystal you will find yourself able to call on, then it’s likely me who will come to your aid, or one of the General Queens. But believe me, you should not crack that crystal unless it’s an –emergency.” He said firmly. “You’ll be able to give the energy you collect to any general or captain. They can also help guide you, though if you have any points they leave you confused on, please, seek me out.”

"Right. Don't break the crystal thingy unless I really need to break the crystal thingy." He gave the General-King a thumbs up to say that he understood but.. he had no idea what kind of crystal thingy he was going on about. Better not to bother though, he thought, if it was something he was going to really only need in an emergency.

Cause really, how hard could it be?

"I'll catch ya 'round, then." His thumbs up hand turned into a wave and he swiveled on the heels of his feet until he could stalk off properly with determination in his step. Where he was going he really had no idea yet, but he had purpose and duty and all kinds of new motivators.

He just had to hope that they stuck, because motivation rarely ever did with him.
