Robert stood up and held his hand out, accepting the challenge like the manly man he was. "You got it! I'll meet you out there next Monday, all right? I'm telling you though, I'm gonna slay you."

"Next Monday it is," Jordan agreed, and stood up, taking Robert's hand in a firm handshake. "You better put a pillow in your pants, because I'm gonna kick your a**." He grinned.
Then he sobered. "Thanks, bro," he said quietly.

"My pants are stuffed enough, thanks." He laughed out as he shook Jordan's hand. When the quieter words came, Robert regarded him for a moment, his eyes softening, before rolling.
"All right, bring it in." He hollered out, pulling the handshake so that Jordan was pulled into him. Robert gave him a full on, bro-hug. With a pat on the back, he muttered quietly. "Anytime."

Jordan found himself being hugged. For a moment he just hugged Robert back, grateful for his friend's presence and understanding. Then he thumped Robert's back with his free hand and pulled away before it could get all mushy or anything. "Okay, I'm gonna go take that run now," he said. "Meet me at the dorm building door in five if you're coming with." He grinned up at Robert, then turned and headed for the door.
