Riley gave him the idea? Well, she was such a smart ghoul, so it didn't surprise him. She was worthy of the title of Captain.
"Wait.. seriously?" Mot snorted, laughing hysterically the more he thought of it. Hel, the Valkyrie, singing and dancing to a ghoul band. Oh it was precious. Xiu, he could see it, imagine it. It suited her. "Oh no, don't delete them, I have to see this." Mot grinned, shoving Roch's bowl toward him. "Eat up, partner."

Roch started to eat, seeming to recover with each bite. "Man, I thought that too, but do you KNOW how horrible those songs are? They're insidious, man, and I do NOT use that word lightly. They sneak into your mind and kill brain cells and by the time the second one is over you're drooling--and not just over the ghouls dancing."
In other words, one was still stuck in his head. "Maybe I should get some earplugs."

Mot's sympathies? Yeah, he was still laughing at Roch. A lot. "Wouldn't know, partner. I don't think I've heard that music in a long while." Mot still chuckled behind a grin. "I feel bad for you, I honestly do." Did he really?
"Or stuff some cotton in them. Cotton works?" He was trying not to laugh anymore, but he seemed amused. "At least they didn't make you sing them too."

"Do NOT mention that fact to either of them. EVER," he said, looking terrified by the very idea. "And if both of us are there we might wind up having to sing boil band songs, thanks to Hel. Jack, that's a scary thought."
He didn't even KNOW boil band songs and it still scared him. "But this definitely rules out inviting Freya to a karaoke party. Next thing you knew, everyone would be threatening suicide."

Mot smirked, crossing a finger over his heart as if promising not to breathe a word of it back to the ghouls. Besides, he wasn't keen on singing boilband songs either. What if they made them dance too? Shudder.
Mot let out a short laugh at the thought of Freya singing and making the whole booth depressed. "That would be a disaster." In more ways than one. Freya was just scary. he kind of ghoul who seemed like she was always up to no good. "Sweet Sally, can you imagine if she entered a talent show? Does Amity have grief counselling?"

"If it's anything like their music training, I think people would be better off not going," Roch drawled, having finished off his stew. "Jack that's good stuff," he said. "I'm going to have to find out what else she makes. Maybe she's got some snackage I could bum off of her for my trip," he said, thinking about Hel. "Cuz obviously I can't go to Xiu..."
Maybe Taryn, though? Some cupcakes would be great for a train ride! He would have to ask her after he passed his exam. It was a bit late now.

"I'm sure Hel would be happy to make you something." Mot nodded, leaning back in his seat. "She seems to enjoy it, as far as I can tell." Mot was obviously not worried about snack choices for his train ride. He barely ate as it was. "If I take anything for my train ride it might just be a bit of jerky." His fondness for the snack was also thanks to Hel.
"Well, at least let Xiu know you'll be gone a while. So she doesn't worry." Mot looked to his door, tilting his head. "I have way too many friends. I don't think I can warn them all that I'll be out for a while. Maybe I'll put a notice on my door."

"Or post it on groanspring," Roch agreed. "I'll do that after I pass my exam, do two things in one spam message," he decided. "The whole, 'yay, I'm a knob, now I'm skippin' out for a bit' message. People will go 'yay you're a knob, have a good trip' and it'll be over and done with."
Roch, so romantic about going up a grade. "You passed yours already, right?" he said. "What was it like?"

"I did!" Mot exclaimed, straightening up in his seat. "It was awesome! We had to ride bucking one eyed corgiclops!" He grinned thinking back on it. "There was a farm, and Savage had a cowboil hat, and she even made a ludicrous attempt at a southern accent. It was fun."
The reaper grinned, "I almost fell off at one point, but I managed to hang in there. Hel and some kid named Raziel passed too." Should he mention that Xiu was there? Maybe not. "I've never ridden anything like those corgis before. It was intense. Nothing like a skeletal horse. Oh! And I got Savage's pin to show for it." Mot was beaming with pride.

"Dude, that's awesome," Roch said, grinning now. Just a few minutes with Mot cheered him right back up. THAT was what was really awesome. "Man, I'm gonna miss you on this vacation," he admitted. "I'd invite you over, but seriously, I think it's better if people DON'T know exactly where I am. Not that many people would look me up, but still."

Mot would be missed? That actually made him feel appreciated, and made the reaper smile. "No problem. I'll miss you too. But, I'm sure the time will fly by." He scratched his cheek, thinking a moment. That is if Roch could have a good time? If his place was as shady as he made it out to be, then maybe the time would drag out.
"Ah, well. I'd offer you to visit me instead but.. it'd have to be downtown or something. I'm not keen on anyone meeting my parents."

Roch shrugged. "Nah, I'll just text you," he said with a shrug. "Don't worry about it, bandit, I grew up there. I'll have plenty of stuff to do. Some pals to meet up with, some learning to do. I've just been learning by ear lately, I'm bettin' Bones will kill me. Besides, I understand the parent problem. Trust me."

Mot gasped, holding his heart like he'd just been hit with devastating news. "You... have other friends?! How could you!" Mot huffed, his head turning to the side. "I am so replacing you once you leave." The reaper laughed at himself, and shook his head. "That's cool though. I don't have anyone at home."
Parent problem. Hah. That was a way to say it. "I figured you would." Mot replied with a smirk. If anyone got that point, Roch did. Hel or Lizzy would never understand it. They came from different family values.

Roch grinned shamelessly. "Yeah, but most of my pals back home howl at the moon, even if they aren't werewolves," he said. "They're more like... big brothers. The guys that helped raise me and stuff. Not many pals my own age," he admitted. "Too many afternoons spent--"
Then he shook his head. "Yeah, never mind about that." He looked around. "You were packing, huh? I should probably let you do that. I feel better now. Thanks."

Mot chuckled, getting to his feet. "Yep. Thanks, I need to get back to it." Still, it must be nice to have people like that at home. Mot didn't have anyone like that back home.
"I'm glad you feel better. Anytime." Mot lifted a fist to be bumped. "Take care."
