Navi grinned as the other Dark Mirror Senshi sped his pass, fueled onward by the promise of a home cooked meal. Or perhaps it was that pretty girls would be cooking said meal, either way. It was a small price to pay for the manual labor she'd sort of forced on her teammate.

When they got the fire escape, Navi too stared up at it thoughtfully, fingers leaving the mirror so he could brush a strand of pale hear back behind her ear. "Rope? Not on me." She frowned, then smirked rather suddenly. "But I know where one is. Hold the mirror steady, I'll be right back."

She didn't really give him a whole lot of time to register what she'd said before she'd jumped through the mirror, disappearing for a moment or two before reemerging with a coil of rope slung around her shoulder. "There's a mirror in the bathroom at a service station, and they have helpful s**t scattered all over the place." She tossed the rope to Al-Janah, palms smoothing down the length of her fuku.

He staggered under the weight of the thing as she jumped through, was left grumbling to himself, jaw set and both hands curled around the edges. Al-Janah was still clinging to it, his cursing died down to a scowl, when she came back through, and the eyes he turned on her were less amused by how cute she was or clever, or whatever.

"For ******** sake. Okay. Let's get this done with." He held out a hand for the rope. No clue what he was doing, but he could probably put something together -- a crooked harness wrapped around the bottom and up the sides and hopefully there was a lot of rope, so they still had enough to toss up the fire escape and start making their way up.

"This was a dumb plan. We should have just sent the mirror to them in the mail and called it a gift. Probably would have set it up anyway..."

His scowl was met with the most sugary grin the girl could manage. As if she'd considered feigning innocence, but had known damn well she couldn't have pulled it off, and hadn't really wanted to to begin with. Hey, he'd asked for rope, and she'd delivered!

"Yep, sooner we're done, the sooner we can figure out when Leto and I will be making you dinner." She knelt, helping him tie the robe around the mirror in a makeshift harness, then jumped up to catch the bottom bar of the escape route's later so she could pull herself up. It probably wasn't the best plan considering she was in a short skirt, and her team mate was beneath her, but whatever, they had a job to do.

She blinked down at him when he mentioned sending the mirror instead of everything they were going through to get the damn thing across town and up the roof, and she bite at the inside of her cheek thoughtfully. "You're probably right, but we're here now, so we might as well finish." Damn, why hadn't she thought of that? Clearly Chaonis was having a a negative effect on her ability to make rational decisions. "Hand me up that robe and I'll climb up and loop it around the top rail then feed it back down to you."

All the Dark Mirror girls wore such short skirts; a temptation he could hardly fight against. As Navi hauled herself up, Al-Janah tipped his head back to get a good long look, amber eyes narrowed. His sights might have been aimed in a different direction, long term, but he could still entertain himself by learning what color undies Navi wore under that thing...

"...hmmp." If she wanted to do the hard work, he'd let her -- handing up the rope and then stepping back a bit. All he'd have to do was navigate the mirror up and around as she puled, maybe push a bit from beneath, and follow it onto the fire escape to make the next turn. Of course, that would still likely leave both of them sweating, and Al-Janah cursing again...

Black, so the everything matched rather nicely. It was only good taste, after all.

Navi had no intention of doing all the hard work, she wasn't that athletic, and there was a perfectly capable young man standing in the alley below. She looped the rope around the railing as she'd said, then pulled it until it was tight, dropping the end back down to him before climbing down herself. It was tempting to just all the heaving up to him, but she already felt a little bad for having made him go to all this effort, so they could both pull, and both guide the mirror up so it didn't break.

"Alright, if we work together this'll be done a hell of a lot faster. I'll start pulling, you guide it up, then I'll climb up to the level above you and you can heave it up to me. Back and forth until we're at the top." With the set up, it was kind of like a pulley, so the mirror rose up pretty easily. They'd just have to be careful not to drop it as they made their way up along with it. She waited until he shimmied his way up, then started pulling.

There was more growling, more cursing, her name mixed in with them now, 'stupid women' making quite a few appearances. Despite the bitching, though, he did it, hauling himself up and guiding the mirror up awkwardly. He wasn't exactly athletic either, so when it came his turn to tug on the rope he all but threw himself at it, hanging off of it to tug it down, the mirror thudding against the fire escape but -- not breaking. Thank god. Not this time, anyway.

By the time they were at the top, Al-Janah was huffing a bit, had to pause to catch his breath, dropping down to sit and scowling up at her. "It better be a damned good dinner."

It was a real challenge for Navi to hold back the humor and lauhgter that followed each and every grumbled curse and insult from the other dark mirror senshi's mouth as they worked together to get the mirror up the fire escape. So much so in fact, the girl hardly noticed the effort she was putting into it herself until they'd reached the top and she too had to stop for a brief breather.

But despite the bitching and hard work, they had reached the top, and they were one step closer to finishing their cumbersome task and going home. Not to mention, one step closer to there being a direct doorway into the community center. Both thoughts had the senshi of tumbleweeds grinning as she leaned against the railing beside the mirror.

"Scouts honor." She smirked over towards her teammate. "I'll even make brownies."

Breath caught, Navi climbed up on the railing and hopped across the short distance to the roof. "Throw me the rope, then just tip the mirror along the rail until I can grab it. We should be able to pass it across a lot easier then getting it up here." The rope had been an excellent idea, point to Al'Janah.

"With chocolate chips." It took him two tries to get the rope up and over; Al-Janah's throwing arm wasn't the best. Or the second best. In all honesty, he prided himself on the sole fact that it wasn't the worst, and it didn't take him ten tries. But up it went, and huffing and puffing he maneuvered the mirror into place, arms straining and attention turned downward again.

He at least wasn't afraid of heights, either. He took a good long look, double checked for any energy signals that might be approaching, and then looked back up at her. "Why the ******** do you want this here, anyway? I mean, you can just walk into the building, can't you? No one's going to question...go into the bathroom and change, then you can get your hunting done."

"Fine, with chocolate chips." It wasn't a hard addition, so Navi didn't see why they couldn't be included.

She waited for him to toss the rope over, and did a splendid job of not snickering or grinning to widely when the first attempt fell a little short. She wasn't athletic either, not really, so who was she to throw stones? No body.

When the Mirror was guided over she used to her weight to couter balance it and tip it up so she could hold it on her own on roof of the community center. It was heavy after carrying it few blocks, but it wasn't really heavy. Cumbersome, yes. She set the end carefully at her feet and held on while she waited for Al-Janah to cross over.

She too was scanning for energy signals, but she was looking for something specific. She didn't sense the tell tale sign of a certain eternal's aura, and for once that was a very good thing. If ever there was a night for him to avoid the this new haunt, it was tonight.

It was because of these inner musings she jumped so bad when Al-Janah questioned her reasoning behind wanting a mirror here, specifically. She blinked at the other dark senshi, lips pressing into a uneasy line, then made herself smile. "Not at night I can't, the doors are locked, and eventually they'll fix this window." That was the truth.

"You're going to laugh," she protested lamely. "They'd got a really nice music room, despite the whole place being fairly run down, and along with there not being a mirror in this area of town, I wanted access to all those instruments." Not entirely a lie.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 30, 2011 10:05 am

"That's really ******** stupid. Just go into a music store and steal their instruments -- then you'll have them at home." It wasn't a joke, out of Al-Janah's mouth. He sounded deathly serious, following the mirror to help her out, hunting for the supposed loose window. He wanted this done fast, now. It was already getting dangerously close to his raid time, the risk that he'd be late and lose his slot. He'd only just started rebuilding rep with his guild...

"Or come around during the day, I guess, if you're too much of a p***y for that." He blinked up at her, pointing at a window with his eyebrows raised. "Do you have any idea what's on the other side of this window? We're not just going to plummet to our deaths or anything, are we?"

Navi bristled, and she turned narrowed eyes on the young man now standing beside her. "I'm not going to turn into a thief just because the opportunity arises!" Probably not.. Stealing her own things back from her former room totally didn't count. "Besides, that's not really the point. The appartment is small, and I usually practice at night. I don't want to disturb or keep Leto up with my playing. That'd just be rude." She gave a rather stubborn sniff, left hip jutting out as she shifted her weight.

"You don't get it, but that's no excuse to be a jerk about it either." She curled her fingers around the mirror again, lifting. "I don't tease you about your hobbies." Not that she had much knowledge of them besides second hand tid bits from Quinn. Still, her point still stood.

"And of course I know what's on the other side, I've been through it a couple times already. It's just a skylight, and the floor's only about 14 feet down. We'll lower the mirror down, take it down to the basement, then we're done."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 01, 2011 12:34 pm

Fourteen feet? She was crazy. He stared at her for a long moment, then stared down at the skylight, and then looked back to the mirror. His mouth pressed down into a line.

"Here's my suggestion, then." He moved to get the skylight open and grabbed the rope, his own motions twitchy and sharp and maybe annoyed as well. Brittle. He didn't really like getting snapped at, not even when he deserved it.

"You take the damned mirror down. I'll go back out the fire escape, walk to the nearest restaurant with a nice bathroom, and then come through." He put his shoulder into opening it, crouched, narrowed eyes turned up at Navi. "That way, only one of us has to risk falling and breaking our necks."

Navi stared back at him as his lips thinned down. She could see the complaints forming in his head, and it was only a matter of time before they came spilling out his mouth.

She didn't have to wait very long at all. He grabbed the rope, shimmied open the sky light, and the flood gates burst in a tidal wave of sarcasm and bitching. She waited for him to come to the end of his smart a** remark, Carefully setting the mirror down before arms folded under the swell of her chest, and then promptly shoved her heel against his shoulder to unbalance him. While he teetered she moved forward, hands closing around his wrists to force them back against the roof as she came down to straddle his waist. Pinning him down, unless he realized he was stronger then her and fought back.

"Are you done bitching?" She didn't sound irritated, or even annoyed. If anything she looked amused, and if the grin spreading along her lips was any indication, he wasn't going to like what she had to say next. "Because I was under the impression that you were not only a guy, but also a magical warrior of chaos." Pale brows arched in a silent challenge. "Or am I mistaken in either of those assessments?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 02, 2011 6:51 am

The sound he made when Navi caught his wrists was higher pitched than he would have liked, more startled than he would have liked, and certainly not masculine -- in any way. It was thoroughly shocked, his expression wide-eyed for a moment before it melted down into something considering, instead, his hands relaxing in his grasp. If she had any experience with boys, she might recognize that look: somewhere between enjoying himself and trying to picture Betty White naked so that nothing awkward would crop up.

"...did you guys like....get lessons at this?" It came out slowly, testing, not as baited as she would have liked. Of course not. He had long ladylegs around his waist. Al-Janah could deal with that. "I mean, was there a 'Dark Mirror Ladies Night' where you all learned this move?"

What a girlish squeak. She stared down at him, watched the shock fading away as he realized there was a girl in a very short skirt sitting on him, and smirked as his hands relaxed under the press of her own on his wrists. Lydia did have experience with boys, and she certainly recognized that look on his face. It only made her smirk all the broader.

Considering her questions, his answers didn't make a whole lot of sense, and she lips pursed thoughtfully as he inquired if all the girls in the Dmc learned similar moves while the boys hadn't been paying attention. "No," her head tilted, considering, and she settled just a little lower on his waist as terribly evil grin blossomed on her face. "Who else has been pinning you down like this?" She was curious now.

"Seriously though, are you done being a little girl? You're a senshi now, heights really don't mean s**t to you anymore." She leaned down until their faces were closer, ginger curls falling against his cheeks. "It's time you put your big boy panties on."
