Al-Janah was chatty, but he wasn't really eloquent, and that was the true problem. Not a lack of understanding -- sure, he knew why he was here, what he was supposed to be doing. Who the energy was for. Their purpose. He'd met the senshi in the surrounding, had seen their fanatical fury, had also talked to some about how important they thought they were, and as a decisive atheist, it made him uncomfortable.
He should perhaps have viewed the dark mirror in the same way. He didn't. And he didn't think about that too much, either.
Valhalla swung, and it shocked the hell out of him. After all that talking, Al-Janah really hadn't been expecting the blow, had thought the page would just take it, confused, fist catching along his jaw and rattling his head. Blood welled along the bottom of his lip, and he brought one hand up to feel the spot, the pain --
Fury bloomed after a moment. His instinctive reaction was to throw another punch, body thrown into it, toward Valhalla's gut this time.

How their conversation had disolved into a fist fight, Valhalla has no idea. Sure, he wasn't all that impressed with the lack(?) of intelligence this senshi for the Dark Mirror Court was showing, but he didn't think he'd said anything to cause him to suddenly throw a punch.
But now that it had started, Valhalla wasn't going to just let this little punk get the best of him. No, it wasn't one of his crowning moments, to fight back when he tried so hard to promote peace and no violence, but what Al-Janah had done was simply uncalled for! He'd already given him a chance when he'd jumped him the first time, but this? No way.
The page winced, unable to deflect the punch in time. He'd tried to use his leather vambrace to push the senshi away, but Valhalla would be the first to admit that he wasn't a trained fighter. But he did know how to swing.
Valhalla lunged at the senshi, throwing a few more punches at his sides and jaw, trying to get him to back off. He knew he should be more careful about himself getting hurt, but at this point he'd all but lost his sense of reason to the anger welling up inside.

One of Valhalla's blows caught him across the jaw and split his lip, left his head ringing, tumbling back and to the ground -- and in instinctive reaction, Al-Janah gestured skyward, summoning up his attack. The bird came immediately to hand: launched into the air even as Valhalla scrabbled up to stand and stumbled back a few steps, as it began to circle.
His face still hurt; he stumbled, spat, pointing up at the bird. There was blood, and that made him shudder, but he drew himself together some.
"One step and that bird'll tear you to ribbons." It came out with another flash of blood, his eyes darkening with frustration. Al-Janah stumbled back another step, frustrated.
"You've got a minute and a half. Don't so much as breathe hard." Lies piled on lies, but hopefully Valhalla was gullible enough to believe it. Al-Janah turned on his heel and ran.
