Calder beamed, happy to see the monster dorm slowly start to fill with new faces and familiar ones. It was just the distraction he needed and surrounded by others made him happy and feel safe. As Amrita took a seat beside him, he started to pull out many spools of thread and a slim container of needles. He had been stocking up ever since he noticed how many of his undead friends needed these supplies. Usually he now kept a needle and thread in his sporran in order to have it if any of his friends needed it. It was the right thing to do as a friend after all though he still needed to get better at sewing. In no way was he speedy like most undead with making a fast row of secure stitches. However, now that he was confined indoors for a bit, now was a good time to get better.

"Here Amrita. I brought enough for everyone." He then started to set the needles and spools on the table among the pile of fabric. "Everyone can have one. That way we can learn together. I'm only so-so..." Then Calder grinned. "...or sew-sew." He chuckled. Sewing joke. "...with sewing." He smiled at the everyone. "I'm going to make a blanket for my friend, but I have plenty for everyone to make something. You can make it for yourself or for someone else. If you have any pointers, please share. I'm still learning." He started to select the most manly fabrics he could find for his friend and pile them in front of him on the table, which was rather hard when he was trying not to step on Chuppi. Looking down, he leaned in and lifted the ghoul up and onto his lap. "Chuppi, don't sit on the floor. You're hard enough to see." He then settled on the couch again and then winced. Heavy weight of Chuppi combined with bandaged rump was not a good idea. So instead, he set the ghoul on Herryk's lap. "You can stay there. Herryk, this is Chuppi."

Smiling, he ushered Ulmuka over and pointed near the table. "Hi Ulmuka. It's better if you sit closer to sew. Can't grab your seat with your hands when ya need them." He then glanced up as more unfamiliar faces came in and waved to Mot and Cady to come over. "Hey, come over to the table. Geez. Everyone is hiding over there. I got spools. OH!" He also lifted another basket that had many long blades of grass. "I also got stuff for making baskets." He set that down on the table which was quickly getting cluttered.

At Bea, he smiled. "Hi Bea!" He liked movie night best of all and was learning a lot from their showings. He was happy to see the ghoul here.

Herryk was in the process of frantically waving at Mort when suddenly there was a plump little Chuppi planted in his lap. Comically Herryk froze mid-wave, his eyes slowly sliding down to stare at the back of Chuppi's head. With a choked gasp, Herryk quickly -- and carefully -- grasped Chuppi around the waist before scooting over and tucking her against his side. He made sure she had enough space to be comfortable. It seemed the prudent thing to do, plus Chuppi was going to need room to craft... whatever it was that Calder was crafting.

By this time it was far too late to make his escape.

Offering Chuppi a weak smile, Herryk crossed his arms over his chest and slouched against the backrest of the couch.

Apparently Calder thought it would be funny to move her and Chuppi squeaked at being lifted, though she did her best to not outright screech like she wanted to. Self-control, self-control, and she couldn't really weigh that much right? Still it looked as though she hurt Calder and then she was suddenly moved onto the lap of the large boil she'd been looking at. He felt cold beneath her tiny legs, not really a surprise since he was undead by the smell of him, and she squeaked again as he moved her down next to him on the seat. Her tiny legs barely stuck over the side of the chair, her knees unable to bend.

"Lo siento, Herryk. Calder, is this really okay? I was fine on the floor...." well, even if she couldn't have been really seen she was fine on the floor, but there was likely no objecting to whatever Calder said. The kelpie always had a way with his own odds and ends and so the Chupacabra didn't want to interrupt. There were also more students coming in, two more ghouls and an undead boil, and Chuppi found herself actually moving to hide against the larger body that she was next to. She'd hoped for a small group, those were always nice, but now? Now she was nervous.

Herryk wasn't entirely sure what a 'lo siento' was -- the words were unfamiliar and Herryk cocked a brow at Chuppi's words. It wasn't until she started trying to hide behind his broad form that Herryk grew a little protective. She was so small, and she seemed very nervous.

"Do not worry, little bug," Herryk said quietly to the younger girl, offering a soothing smile. He wasn't sure what she was nervous over, but it made Herryk concerned. Maybe she was worried that someone would sit on her. Herryk would ease her mind.

"Herryk will not let anyone sit on the little Chuppi-bug." Another broad smile, this one larger than the first.

"Haiiiiii, Herryyyyyyyk~!"

o3o Chuppi was a bug? Well she did have a small stature and strange eyes . . .

Cooooool!

At Calder's request, Mort moved right on into the group in the chair beside Herryk and on Chuppi's side (as they were now sharing the same chair. She said some funny words that made him think. Where had he heard that accent before . . . Mama spoke a ton of different languages. Mort pondered for a few moments.

"That isssss . . . Er. Um. OH! Is Spanish isn't it," he commented, and then grinned. "Mort wants to learn new languages sometime. Makes brain smarter."

And he was all about brains.

So they were making blankets huh? o3o Well Mortimer wasn't sure about sewing blankets on the first try, but he did need a lesson in sewing - he was rather terrible at it, strangely enough. His mother had done all his stitching and sewing up for him back at home.

He picked up the spool and sorta stared at it. o w o

Ulmuka's head had turned to look at Cady and Bea when people began to greet them and they weren't in his line of sight. The ghouls received his normal grin but he was forced back to attention when Calder had gotten up to help him.

Muka shifted, moving from the stool when he was instructed. "Thank you Calder but I am not sure if I can manage sewing very well.." He snickered and waggled his fingers, each one ended in a curved talon that was certain to snag fabrics. "Perhaps I will try though. I love clothing. I always wanted to make my own outfit." He snickered a bit for some reason and re-settled in the closer seat that the kelpie provided for him.

His attention quickly shifted from the fabric though. The strix boil seemed much more interested in all of those around him. He teeth cracked open and he tasted the air a bit, trying to discern anything he could about those around him. The Mort boil was closest and seemed to have a good attitude. He was also some sort of zombie and would be one of the first that Muka ever met.

"Hellooooo..." He stared and leaned in on the zombie. "I am Ulmuka nice to meet you." OvO

Amrita blushed at Chuppi's compliment. "Err, um, thank you! Malodore Christof made it for me, isn't it nice?" She was referring to her body and not the dress (or the arm sling), but she didn't verbally clarify or gesture to make it obvious. The jealousy the ghoul possessed went unnoticed, but what did catch her attention were the Undeads.

It was both great, and somewhat embarrassing, to meet members of her own faction. Embarrassing only because she lived in the dorms and barely recognized anyone anymore, aside from a handful of scarelings. It was something she was going to fix, one day! Perhaps a gathering of sorts one day would work best.

"H-Hello." She said to the newcomers with a smile before turning to Calder, helping him distribute the spools and thread to those who wanted to help. "Umm...I'm not...that great at sewing, but...I can do a little!" In fact, not a single stitch on her person was made by her; hopefully they weren't taking that as her skill. She did have quite a few awkward, suspiciously blade-made stitches on several parts of her person. "So! If you have any, um, s-sewing questions, I can try to help!"

Next she turned back to Calder, picking through the fabrics she could see. Err...gee, well, she didn't know where to start. In fact, she didn't even know what they were making for him! How terrible! Best to ask the mastermind! "What are we making for him, exactly...?"

While she waited for her answer, Amrita pulled a needle and a long piece of black thread from somewhere in her hair; she had put it there during the field trip after Moure gave it to her, and just kept it there for convenience ever since. As she was taking the black string from the needle, she happened to see Mort stare at the spool oddly. "Have you ever sewn before?" She asked him, wondering where the look came from. He seemed to have stitches on him, too!

Mort's face mimicked Ulmuka's to a degree: o w o

"N-Nice to meetchu," he echoed back at the bird boil, blinking as Ulmuka leaned in. "Is Mortimer, but likes Mort better for name." He wanted to make clothes? Mort could barely make stitches for his own skin, let alone whole sets of clothing! Those claws did look like they'd be painful, though . . . And those teeth too. Was he a gryphon like Ren? But Ulmuka didn't sport a tail. What sort of bird had sharp teeth anyway? o3o; Maybe he wasn't a bird at all . . . Wait, that didn't make sense. Birds had wings like that!

"Is has bad with the sewing," he went on as the undead ghoul came up, offering help. Mort looked rather sheepish, as knowing how to put oneself back together was rather crucial as an undead. "And, um . . . has not have sewn before. Mama did it all when got hurt."

Calder looked at Amrita's dress and pouted. "Chrsitof and Malodore made you a dress? They never make me things." He had to ask this to the both of them later. They were buddies after all and it was a very lovely dress. The pair was secret fashion-fans behind his very back!

Taking his spool and thread, he paused to look at everyone. "Oh, to start sewing you, have to take a long piece of thread, cut it, and then put it through this little hole in this needle. It's really hard to do sometimes. I lick the end since it gets fuzzy." He licked the tip and then worked to very slowly put the thread through the needle.

"I'm going to make Christofa blanket." He told Amrita. "His room has no nice things. No one makes him stuff, and his Master doesn't care. He works so hard and probably just falls fast asleep when he gets to his room. I thought it would be nice if his room was nice and comfortable. That he had some nice things, but I can't buy things for him so I wanted to make them instead. He's done so much for me and my friends. I wanted to do something special back. I'm gonna decorate his room and make it nice." He beamed at the undead ghoul.

"Oh, no one here tell him. Shh. Secret."

At Calder's direction, Herryk leaned forward to dig through any sorts of craft materials he could find. Surfacing with one small, shiny needle and a random thread, Herryk glared at the two objects he clutched.

Pulling off an extremely long piece of thread, Herryk snapped it loose from the spool with his teeth. This gave the thread a very ragged edge, though Herryk only began to notice it when he tried to thread the needle only to fail.

Frowning, Herryk glared at the thread for a long silent moment before glaring at the needle. Slowly, he tried again. Eyes almost crossing as he held the needle and thread up close to his nose for maximum close-up viewing. He missed again.

Slowly the tip of Herryk's tongue peeked out from his lips. The draugr was the perfect picture of complete and utter concentration. He tried again, and failed.

"Calder," Herryk grunted. "Herryk thinks his needle is broken."

"Oh, well, if you like you can, um, sit next to me and learn?" She offered her fellow undead - Mort - while patting the empty space next to her with a backwards hand, on the opposite side of her from Calder. "I'm...I'm no Christof, or Lizzy or Junko or any other great seamstress, b-but...I know a bit, so...it's a start?" The boil spoke funny, really funny, but at least he was understandable; not like Christof's brief foray into the speaking world, or Johan's jumble-talk. Understandable crazy, that's what that was.

"The dress...? Oh, no! They, um, made me this body!" She was always happy to show off their handiwork, even if she did get it rather ruined over the course of the single-day field trip. The hands and feet? They were always ruined in Christof's opinion. Never not backwards. "But yes, Calder's right, haveta thread the needle first..." She took her own spool, unravelling some of it and separating it with her teeth instead of scissors, going through the painstaking process of threading it with only one arm. Siiiigh she wanted this splint OFF!

"...I think he'd really like that!" The idea of a blanket was a wonderful one! She hadn't been to his room for a while, but aside from parts it did always seem very bare. "I...I really, really like that idea, Calder...thank you for inviting me and letting me help..." She trailed off, honestly touched by the idea. "I...I owe him a lot, too...I would really like it if I could help you more." The ghoul's expression softened fondly, and for a moment she fidgeted with a loose thread on her sling. If it was for Christof, she wanted to help as much as she was allowed.

Herryk, though, caught her attention. Sure he'd been calling for Calder, but Amrita, who was sitting on the other side of the Kelpie, leaned foward a bit to look at him. Woooow what a big boil! Huuuge. Maybe twice the size of Petro? HRM. "Broken...? O-oh, no, I think it's just being, um, mean!" She stammered, holding out her own, already threaded needle. It was obvious what Herryk's problem was, but she didn't want to bring too much attention to it. Too big of hands, too small of needle. "Um, this one is being nice, if...if you want you can have it!"

Thankful for the ghoul's presence nearby (What did they say her name was? Am...Ammy...Rita?), Mortimer watched both her and Calder's example before attempting to put the thread through the eye of the needle. Being somewhat visually challenged, he had to lean his face in and scrunch his face in a similar fashion to Herryk's - he had better luck, though, and managed to to get his piece through after finally licking the end.

Oh right. He was supposed to cut the thread before. With fumbling fingers, the zombie tried to keep the thread still while biting the thread and cutting it with his teeth. Unfortunately, it still managed to slip through his fingers under the pressure, and thus he had a piece of thread now, sure, but he would have to fined the hole again.

; A ;

"Who be Christof?" Mort asked Calder and Ammy-Rita as he refocused on doing so, sighing quietly to himself. "Sounds like good guy." Specifically for making a whole . . . wait what? He made a whole body for her?

owo Holy . . . Well Ammy-Rita looked pretty good for an undead. The flower in her hair was also a nice accent; life amongst death.

Come to think of it, how many undead ghouls had he seen here? From the movie club, there had been . . . one? Shehk, he remembered.

Muka was filing all the mentioned names away for later. Christof, Junko, Lizzy.. He probably wouldn't remember them but they seemed to be fondly spoken of friends. The strix had yet to pick up a needle and thread he was eyeing all the fabrics, gently sifting through him and doing his best to not catch them on his claws.

The sight of them all screwing up their faces and playing with tiny metal needles sent the strix into a bit of a giggle fit until he was distracted otherwise.

"What are these?" He noticed off to the side there were what looked like half put together baskets, twigs and grass. Those.. hmm ..those he may be able to do. No chance of ruining them with his talons and they sort of reminded him of a nest. He'd never needed to make a nest before, but being an owl-monster he figured he had a big of an advantage. "I bet I could do this." he flashed them all a grin but he honestly had no idea where to get started!

Herryk's attention went from the obviously defunct needle and thread in his hands to Amrita. A slow scowl darkened his expression as the undead ghoul mentioned that his needle and thread might be mean. Lifting the needle and thread up in one hand, he pointed at the items with the other.

"Herryk will kill it?" Obviously mean things deserved to die, though he gave pause at her offer. Amrita was obviously a very nice ghoul, offering her very nice threaded needle.

"You get to live another day, mean things," Herryk quipped, carefully setting the needle and thread aside before reaching out towards Amrita, willing to take her up on her offer. "Thank you, Amrita. Herryk is grateful."

Chuppi was very thankful for being stuck next to Herryk like she was, most people couldn't even notice her anymore, and she silently set about to threading the needle like she'd been asked. Due to her small size her fingers were able to complete the task without too much difficulty and she looked around to see what else she was supposed to be doing. She was content to just sit there and wait, watching everyone come in and be loud, and she sort of shrank back into herself . Most of those coming in looked so hurt, wounded, and she was perfectly healthy.

Would she have made a difference had she gone with them to the Field Trip? Probably not, she would have ended up with herself killed and wounded! She was small and useless.
