And then Mot said "LET THERE BE CATS"
And there were.
And HOLY s**t THAT WAS A LOT OF CATS.
As soon as the door cracked open, a stampede of felines invaded the room, their own little paws sliding along the slick surface. A chorus of meows echoed through the room as circus cats, venus fly cats, candy corn cats, trash cats, nergal cats, big cats, little cats, fuzzy cats, and kittens all jumped and danced around, some immediately taking to the cowboil.
A couple of them simply rubbed up against his legs with little purrs rising up from their throats.
Others... Thought it more bold to try and climb the reaper.
Either way. That was a lot of friggin' cats.

Cats. Lot's of them. Oh Jack that was a lot of cats. Mot had expected maybe three or four. Five at most! WHY ARE THERE SO MANY CATS?!
Mot was horrified.
Mot yelped at the landslide of felines, tensing, holding still as some of the bolder ones crawled up his body. Silently he prayed none would be as bold as Mitsu's cat. He liked his balls where they were, thank you. "Riyoooooo, why are there so many cats?!" Mot asked with a nervous and uneven tone.

"What's wrong with cats, Mot?" Riyo called back to him as a teapot steamed. "You not like cats? Hm?" Her head peeked around the corner to see what was happening, and couldn't help but laugh.
"Check this out." Reaching into her pocket, Riyo retrieved a shiny red whistle and put it to her lips after taking in a deep breath. The small contraption let out a loud sound that commanded the attention of the felines. The ones that had been climbing the tall cowboil stopped, jumped down, and had a seat on the floor, as did the others.
Smiling, the larger feline held up her hands and clapped twice.
... Which made the cats start a conga line.
Who better to teach cats tricks... Than a cat?
For a moment, the ghoul left the kitchen in favor of rolling over to the record player. It took a moment, but she finally found a record that would suit the situation.
W-what was this bullshit?
"Haha, Ah. I rarely have time to get bored, but when I do..." Riyo admitted and shook her head. "... Jack I'm tired..."
And then a whistling, hissing sound joined together with the music. "Ah, what the hell is that noise?"
... Riyo had forgotten she was making tea.

There were no words. Actually, if it weren't so creepy, it would be amazingly impressive. How did Riyo train her cats to do this?! It was amazing! Scary. Unnerving. But amazing. "Aha... I am stunned." Mot managed to bring himself to say. He almost wanted to dance too. Almost. She really needed sleep though. How was he to help her with it when he couldn't sleep either? He heard the screeching of the tea kettle then, getting louder and louder. That was a fire hazard waiting to happen! Mot scurried his way around a conga line of cats. At one point he slipped, sliding into the kitchen. Well, oh well. he was there now. The reaper scrambled to his feet searching frantically for a cloth of some kind before taking the kettle away from it's heat source. "Uh, t-the kettle is boiled!"

"Oh good. Then the tea will be really hot." Riyo called back, her eyes not wanting to open anymore. "If I forget to drink it this time, it might still be warm when I get back up."
Obviously Riyo was no help, but one of the cat's jumped out of the conga line and slid into the kitchen with Mot. Well if it wasn't good old reliable Felix.
... he still didn't like the reaper, but he certainly liked that noise even less. Pawing the reaper's leg to get his attention, the cat opened one of the floor level cabinets shortly after... Revealing cat-face oven mitts. Obviously the nergal hazcat couldn't take it off the stove, but Mot certainly could.
Yep. Cat's again. And yeah. The kettle had cats on it too.
Rolling back towards the kitchen, Riyo sleepily peeked in.... With her eyes closed. Somehow...
"Teacups are on the top shelf, Margret... I mean Mot. Did I ever tell you about the time I ran away from home?" She asked, her head reclining back over the roller seat. "I ate mice for a couple of days. Mice that drank tea. Tea and mice are lovely together. Have you ever eaten mice? A little bony, but they have an alright flavor." Now she was just rambling. "And then... There was the time... Mm..."
... Was she asleep?

Helpful cat was helpful. He nodded in understanding, shaking his head at himself and taking the ridiculously cute accessory to hold the kettle with. Everything.. everything had cats. Mot raised a brow at the dreamy Riyo that slid in, watching her from the corner of his eye as he prepares the tea. So now she was leaving him in charge of hosting himself? Sigh. Oh well. Maybe this was helping her in a small way. She almost looked like she was already asleep, the way she talked with ehr eyes closed.
Wait, was she asleep?
The talk of eating mice was passed off as nonsense. He looked down at the two cups of tea he'd made, then back to the ghoul. "Um.. what time?" If she kept talking, he'd listen. If not? He'd have to find a way to get her into a proper bed so she could sleep.

When Mot questioned her, she mumbled some gibberish about a guy with a violin, though it didn't look like she would be able to say much more. It was slightly comical, the way she had fallen asleep. Head slung over the back of the chair, mouth open, a light snore that was almost inaudible over the noise in the room.
Well... At least she seemed... Peaceful. Kinda.
Looking up at Mot, then over at Riyo, Felix shook his gas mask-covered head. At least the other cats had stopped their conga line when the record reached it's end. Now they were busy climbing on the furniture and the canopy of Riyo's bed. Though for cats, they seemed pretty good about avoiding the fragile stuff.
Nervously, the hazcat approached Riyo's rolling chair and tried to nudge the base towards her bed very, very carefully. Not that he was afraid she'd wake back up, but the ghoul was mighty close to falling off.

Well then. Riyo was asleep. However, she was sleeping in a place she really ought not to be. That couldn't be healthy for her back. Mot chuckled lightly, ruffling his hair and taking in the comical sight before him. However he couldn't stare forever. Felix had given a big hint that he wanted his master put to bed. The attempts the little hazcat made to do so on his own were commendable and also adorable.
Being the gentlemen Mot was, he started to wheel Riyo towards her bedroom, mostly sliding his feet on the floor. He tried is best not to slip. Now, he wasn't thrilled about entering Riyo's bedroom, mostly because he didn't have permission, but he certainly was not leaving her on a chair or couch. He opened the door, then stood back and looked Riyo over. She was tall, almost as tall as himself. However she was also slender. Perhaps he could carry her.
Deciding that to be the best coarse of action, Mot scooped up the bakaneko Princess Style. It was a good thing he wasn't carrying her too far. Slender or not, Mot was probably one of the weakest male reapers in Amnity. Luck was on his side, and he managed to carry the ghoul to bed, laying her down as gently as he could. He feared what retaliation he would get if the feline awoke to see his ugly mug.

Riyo must've been really tired, because the ghoul barely moved when Mot lifted her up out of the chair. The snoring had stopped after she was placed in a proper bed, though her body began to curl up the second it realized there was space to do so. Riyo... Had a huge bed.
A huge bed with a beautiful translucent canopy draped over it. And the sheets, a lovely dark red color that glowed in the right light. One thing that was not a lie, she certainly did have nice things.
Once Mot took over the steering, Felix begrudgingly followed the cowboil into his master's room, leery of the reaper being there. He liked it even less when Mot picked her up, but it wasn't like the hazcat could do anything like that.
Finally, he hopped on the bed with her, though he wouldn't curl up next to her. Not in this state. Too many times already had he been hit as she woke up screaming. She didn't do it on purpose... But the nergal wasn't particularly anxious to repeat it.
And then the stirring started. Small twitches and jerks going off periodically. The feline was obviously dreaming something.

Her room was amazing, now that he had a chance to gawk. The feline hadn't been kidding when she ranted about her riches. The last time he'd ever seen such lavishness... was probably at Lizzy's. Demons and their riches. Sigh. Mot would have left, however, he'd not gotten a chance to even touch his tea yet. 8(
That wouldn't do.
The reaper left the room when Felix hopped on the bed, only to return a short time later with the two cups of tea. He placed Riyo's on a night table (with a coaster he found, since it was apparent the feline was a neat freak), and sat himself on the rolling chair. Mot hadn't been planning to watch her sleep. He'd actually been staring out the window sipping his tea when Riyo began to twitch. He turned his head, regarding the demoness with concern. She was having nightmares too. She'd said so herself, and honestly he was surprised if anyone came out of the trip without any.
Mot didn't want to pry, but he knew what it was like to wake from a nightmare, to only be met with a dark and empty room for comfort. Sure, Riyo had her... dozens of cats, but...
Mot shifted a little closer, carefully eyeing the ghoul and sipping his tea. If it looked like her dream was becoming too intense, he would wake her.

"Mm..." Riyo whined once, her eyes clenching painfully. Those clawed hands reached out to grab a handful of the fabric on her bed. That dream. That same damn dream.
To anyone else it wouldn't have been a big deal. Perhaps nothing more than a minor inconvenience... But to Riyo, the sight of a circular architecture in the distance was enough to make her skin crawl. But the inside. Oh, the inside was so much worse.
She could see the straps slither out like hungry serpents after her, ready to pull her in from the fate he had escaped so long ago. And once she was inside...
Once she was inside...
Those eyes. Those jack-damn eyes. Those horrible, emotionless blue eyes! They saw through her. They devoured her insides and distorted them. Ripping her apart limb from limb with such a simple glance. It said so much with no words.
It said "This is what waits for you."
There was no warning as Riyo lunged up from her sleeping position and let out an ear-shattering scream, her red slitted eyes staring at a horrifying image that had long disappeared. The ghoul's body shivered and shook as she withdrew into herself, though the fear slowly started to wear off as she realized... She couldn't remember why she screamed in the first place.

Mot was mid sip when Riyo lunged up, her scream slicing through his calm as sharp and as deadly as a blade. Mot choked, coughing on his drink, and setting the tea cup down. He looked up to see the demoness looking terrified. Had she had a nightmare? That was the only explanation.
"Riyo.. are you alright?" Mot asked with concern, shifting his chair forward more. "What's wrong?"

The sound of coughing made the feline practically snap her head to the side, unsure of what to think when she saw Mot at first. "W-what are you...?" She started to ask... But her sleepy mind was starting to put it together by herself.
"... I don't know." She dropped her previous question and simply answered his. "This is what's been happening since a few days after we got back from the trip." No use in being mad at him for occupying her room. "Every time I go to- Oooh, tea." When she spotted the cup next to her bed, the ghoul reached over to pick it up. Ah, still warm. "Every time I go to sleep, I wake up screaming shortly after... No idea why.. But I don't think I can take much more of this..."
Her eyes moved down to Felix, who was staring up at her... Probably nervously. She'd decked him pretty good a few times without meaning to.
... Which made her wonder...
"... Why did you stay, Mot?" Riyo's eyebrow rose as she asked, slightly confused to why the cowboil had remained after she passed out.

"Sounds like a nightmare." Mot pointed out, taking his tea again now that we wasn't choking on it. "I'd be happy if I were you. It'd be nice if I didn't remember what the nightmare was." Then he could at least pretend going to sleep would help. That is, if he could sleep. Still, he understood what she meant. This was not rest. It was torture. "I'm sorry you can't sleep well." He really meant it.
Mot looked up from his tea to regard the feline. Why, she asks? "I wasn't done my tea." He answered straight faced at first, smiling and shaking his head. "I was also worried. You'd mentioned you were having trouble resting and I wanted to be sure you were alright."

"Happy?" Riyo scoffed. "I'd love to know what my nightmares are so I can deal with them. You can't overcome what you can't recall..." The feline pointed out, but settled down soon after. Ah Mot, he was just trying to make her feel better. That's what he was always trying to do. Sometimes it was difficult to keep that in mind...
Though her ears folded back when he said the only reason he stated at first was the tea. "Oh." Why did that disappoint her so much? She didn't want someone to-
Her eyes narrowed as he added the second part of his answer. A small grumble escaped her mouth at the realization she had been visibly disappointed. "I'm fine. Well... No, I'm not... But you don't have to stay. It would be a waste of time for you to sit around and worry about me." That's all she was, after all...
Waste of time...
It was a thought process she hadn't recalled since she was a kid. The feeling of uselessness. But she wasn't useless. She was a success... She had her own company... Her own house... How could she feel this way about herself now?
"Either I'll have to learn to deal with this or.. Well..." She stopped when she realized where that was going. "I'll learn to deal with this." Yes, yes. There would be no other road. "So go frolic with your little friends or explore another hidden porn cavern."
