Bix scowled when he thought about those horse things. He'd almost forgotten about them at this point and knowing that they were just living in Halloween, with normal bodies like people... well it disgusted him. Haven't you heard of the four horsemen?Well yeah but I thought that was just a bible thing.. oh well.. okay. Everything was a story to me until recently. So wait are they going to bring on the apocalypse?Being a bit dramatic, hmmm snowflake?Just asking."Mina is telling me they are like the four horsemen of the apocalypse or something. But when I mention the apocalypse she says I'm being dramatic." He rolled his eyes a bit. "But I guess at the very leas they are powerful huh? They seem like good targets." Bix sat on the edge of his bed and pulled his braid into his lap. "How long do you think before we can go out in golems? Since we just finished a mission? I never thought I'd be eager to go out.. but.. " It was boring and he wanted payback? "I'm glad you like. Now that it's finished I will admit its the first time I ever cut someone's hair that wasn't my own." He turned a little pink and laughed. "Oh would you please trim this for me?" He turned on the bed, folding his legs under himself, and offered his braid to her. It was long enough to reach the desk chair. "I don't have the heart to do it myself.. How do you think I'd look with .. .uh.. short hair? NOT RIGHT NOW.. but maybe in the future?"

"I dunno when we can go out... I don't think anybody's said." Madison spun the desk chair to face Bix and gently took the long braid into her hand, running her thumb idly over the hair as it went from smooth to crispy. "Do you think they'd let us go if it was just to, like, beat up on horsemen? Caelius seemed pretty pissed at them too..." At the mention of short hair, she looked at him, tilting her head to one side. "I can't quite picture it," she admitted, after a moment. "Then again, I couldn't really picture myself with short hair either, but look at me now..." She picked up the scissors with her free hand. "Just the burnt bits and the split ends, right? Do you think you should unbraid it first, or just leave it?"

Bix smirked. "That would be awesome. But I doubt they will let us out just for revenge. But hey, maybe you can go talk to him about getting a special mission?" He shrugged. "He might be happy to give you an assignment if he knows the motivations. I'll help you if you need backup of any kind." He had learned a few tiny battle tactics in the fights they had been in. Bix realized how good a pair melee & ranged fighters could be. "Oh yeah.." Bix undid the hairband holding the end of his braid and then began combing his fingers through it until it loosened and unraveled. Somehow when framed by his loose hair, it made it much more obvious just how albino he was. He was teased a lot for his skin issues when he was a kid so he did all he could to look less like there was anything wrong with him. "I could do with a trim. A couple inches? Maybe two? Split ends and whatnot." He looked down at his hands, suddenly feeling shy about having a girl he barely knew do his hair for him. The hair itself was thin, but soft, and perpetually wavy from being in a braid.

"That I can do," Madison said with relief. If he'd asked for something super-complicated, well... but she'd trimmed off her own split ends plenty of times, when she couldn't afford the full salon treatment. It was just restyling her hair from scratch that she balked at. "And, um, thanks... I don't know if I'll ever have the chance, but I wouldn't mind burning her hair off. Or whatever." A beautiful dream. She combed her fingers lightly through his hair. "Man, if it weren't, like, burned... I know people who would kill for your hair," she said with a wistful sigh. She took the scissors and carefully began snipping off the burned crunchy bits.

Bix laughed a little. "The girls in school used to say that." Bix lifted his hand to mess with his hair but then paused when he remembered he was getting it trimmed. "It's nice.. i mean it's just hair." Typical guy. "It'd be nice if the whole 'toasted to a crisp in the sun' thing didn't come along with it." He picked at the blanket on the bed while he waited, red eyes sliding over to watch her work. "So what made you join up with this whole dealie?" She didn't seem the type, to be honest. He expected a lot of misfits and not many of them were too far off from the mark. Madison seemed like a normal girl though. As normal as you could be around here.

Madison looked up at him for a moment, vaguely surprised. Then she bit her lip and stared back down at his braid. "Uh, I saw them, I guess. The freaks. The shadows. They were all over the place. There was a monster that, like, lived in my local nail salon, of all the stupid places for a monster to be. There was one in my closet, too..." Her voice trailed off; then she laughed, the sound self-depreciating. "I tried really hard to be normal. Then maybe they'd leave me alone. They didn't, though."

"Well you aren't the only one. At least you found a place? Even if it's not ideal." Bix only ever are niddlings in the back of his mind. He never had any big traumatizing experiences with ghosts or monsters. Seems like most of his friends here had, which put him slightly on the outside but Bix was already considering Madison a friend and so he, of course, wanted to share his life story if she was interested. "I never saw anything really. I mean not more than any normal person, I guess? I had paranormal experiences here and there but usually I ignored it unless I saw Ghost Hunters too often.." He laughed. "I guess I just asked too many questions for too long. My brother disappeared and then everyone, at some point, just gave up and I guess I didn't." He shrugged. "No biggie really but if anyone could have made an extra effort it would have been nice. I want to do something more for someone." Bix smiled to try and not seem cheesy. "I also like the new start, being someone new. It's cool. It's like a video game a little bit." It sounded really insensitive and a psychologist would probably have a lot to say about his state of mind, but he wasn't too far off with the mystical weapons and returns from the dead.

Madison trimmed at the braid a bit more as Bix talked, a wry grin growing on her face. "Yeah, I guess so. I didn't... really like who I was. Popular girl... we used to laugh at like, movies with popular girls in 'em. When I was paying attention to them. My boyfr-" She bit off the word abruptly, though probably not fast enough to hide what it had been. "Well, that doesn't matter now," she said, hunching her shoulders a little bit. She'd been talking to him as casually as if he was one of her 'friends'. More so, honestly. And, well. That.

Bix laughed a little when she seemed to get shy. "Hey what does it matter? You can talk about it if you want. I bet you haven't talked about home once yet. I haven't really." He scratched his head. "In high school a girl like you would not have hung out with me. I'm that weird guy in the Star Wars t-shirt who always got good grades and got really angry when he got messed with." He turned a little but tried not to disturb the trimming of his hair. "I had girlfriends. Only maybe 3 and they treated me like crap but.. I guess I liked having a girlfriend." Girls who let you touch them and kiss them. Always a good thing. Personality usually was cast aside since not many girls wanted to date an albino. "I lived like.. out in the boonies." It was interesting discussing home.

"Heh. I didn't like him all that much," Madison said, with a wry grin as she trimmed off another bit of burned hair. Forcefully. "Just, y'know, if you're... uh... in, I guess? You need... need one. So I got one. God, that sounds so stupid when you say it out loud. I don't miss him," she added, firmly. "And I don't miss... thinking people like you were stupid." Her gaze lost focus a little, as if she were considering memory more than reality. "My parents, though, I miss them. We lived in, like, Burbank. Uh, California, y'know? Little house, oldish. Not old enough to be haunted, thank god, but... ours, I guess? I try not to think about, like, what they must think happened to me..." Her words trailed off. "What did you mean, your brother disappeared?"

It was kinda cool seeing someone in the 'it crowd' say they didn't miss it. Sometimes he wondered if those kinds of people even contemplated their own behavior. Of course Bix was not always as mature as he made himself sound. He was just as likely to lapse back into the stereotyping and act like a kid who was still being bullied. "Well like I said, we lived in the boonies. Everyone had a lot of land around their houses and all the stores and stuff were usually in one spot so not like there's tons of police presence. One day he didn't come home after school. They did all those searches with the dogs in the woods.. you know. I was in high school at the time. So the required period of time passed and they all just said 'Oh these things happen sometimes'. They think he was snatched." Bix recited the story as if he was being strictly informational. It was like the emotion center related with this tale had totally shut down. It was facts now. "So you know some weirdo is driving down the high way and snatches a kid. Or some neighbor is secretly a serial killer.." Or a child rapist, or human traficking. "but no one knows. They just stopped looking. So I kept wanting to know and trying but my parents just got upset they thought I was having problems. I just thought there had to be something else they missed somewhere." So he stashed the talk and left it alone and kept living. "So yeah. But I never thought like monsters ate him or anything." Bix laughed. "Maybe I should have huh? I'd have got here faster probably."

"I.. I'm sorry," Madison said, after a long moment. "That, um, that happened to you and your brother... I guess you've got a better reason to be here than me, huh? They just annoyed me. Well, and they scared me. The one in my closed touched me once, I think, when I was like four or five or something..." She hunched over his braid again, trimming and combing the fingers on her free hand through the hair before she looked up. "I think it's done? What do you think, is it okay?" she asked, a little shyly.

"Thanks? Sorry I never know what to say with that stuff." He chuckled. "But its no big deal. I mean for all I know he could have run away or something. It was a while ago. I've accepted all that stuff by now. Did you say you think one of them.. touched you?" He gasped a little bit. he hoped it wasn't like.. bad touching. "I'm sorry I am sure you don't want to talk about it." He looked at his braid, now shorter but finally without all the hideous burnt pieces. "Oh thanks." he touched it, ran his hands over and through it. "Yeah it's perfect. Maybe I will work up the courage to get normal guy hair in the future." For now he'd stick with his massive braid.

"It's okay, I don't really remember it all that well," she said with a wry smile. "I just remember being pretty little and waking up in a set of arms that didn't belong to my mom or dad. They were all... hairy. And it licked my forehead. But that's never going to happen again." Almost unconsciously, she touched the pink beads around her wrist. Kouki. "Oh, good," she said with relief as he approved of the cut, then, "Don't you dare! I'm going to have your braid, like, declared a national treasure or something." The smile turned fully genuine, a little teasing.

"That's kinda crazy.." He gaped a bit at her. He couldn't even imagine what that was like being a kid. He'd seen a bear once when he was small and it seemed like a giant monster but an actual monster? "Ok.. noted. Chicks dig the braid." Bix laughed a bit. "Will you braid it back up for me?" They'd had to unravel it for the trimming but he did prefer looking like a guy instead of some long haired, pale anime man. He'd been called it before... "I am also starving. I think I am going to grab some food when we are done. Wanna go with?" Sosiqui (( Up to you: if she wants to eat too.. we can either RP it or just assume they had some lunch and had a good old laughy time XD ))
