Ariane twitched at the tone of Caelius' voice as well as the contents of his little speech; she had died back then. Or rather, went quite close to it. Her weapon stopped talking, and she found herself in some place dark until she finally woke up - even then, she felt unusually cold inside, like Dr. H someone had decided to place a freezer in her lungs as some sick joke.
"Yup, sounds like the condition I had been stuck with," She murmured, walking up to their superior and taking one of the green pills, rolling it between her thumb and finger, "Thanks, sir." Still staring at the little green pill, she shrugged and then swallowed it as she walked back to her seat.
She wished there was a glass of water to help wash it down right about now, but failures can't be complainers.

"Is there any water or-" Jerry caught sight of the looks people were giving him before obediently swallowing. "Yes, sir." Hopefully whatever it was would help with whatever it was he was feeling. And if not... well.
No. Thinking clarification was coming was probably hoping too much, judging by his lessons as a Hunter so far.

Bix silently took the pill, always obedient in the face of authority. He also wanted water and cast a sideways gaze to Jerry who had asked. The hunter popped the pill into his mouth and tried to will enough saliva to swallow.
This led to him gurgling strangely, coughing, choking on the pill a bit and then gagging it down.
It was actually pretty loud and unpleasant to watch. By the time he was done his eyes were watering he was wiping them quickly to try and ebb the embarrassment.

Like many of the others present, Before could not help himself from staring at Caelius' hair. Openly at that. There were times when his mouth gaped open and close, much like a goldfish gasping for air, whenever the urge to comment on their leader's coif struck him. While he may have been in the doldrums, he was not in them too much to prevent him from tilting his entire upper half to the left when he remarks to his seatmate, "Do you think Dr. H did that to him after his check up?" All thoughts of the Chill registering much later as right now he was momentarily fixated on Caelius' unique do.

"Fixed him up?" Harrison muttered back, oblivious to the target of Before's concern, "Guess so."
Harrison was fine. No weird cold feelings. B0nez, on the other hand...he started to ask about it.
Do I look like I can - urp, take a seasick pill, dumbass? Ugggghg.
Okay, so you'll just stay sick forever. What do I know? Couldn't hurt to ask.
It could and it hurgh- will, because if you do it you're hearing The Backwards Boils in your head the rest of the week.

Before blinked as he turned his attention towards Harrison. "Uhhh, I ain't no Vidal Sasoon, but pretty sure the chop-job on Boss-Dude-Caelius ain't exactly fixed up," he paused as if to consider this, "Or was he going for an avante garde look?"
Vanna was not sure who or what this Vidal Saloon was, but she was content to listen to Before's chatter. He'd been so quiet it unnerved her.

It seemed like the trainees had not been the only ones to lose hair to the flames. Actually, considering the condition the senior Death Hunter had been in after that battle, Jordan would have been surprised if there'd been no change in Caelius's appearance. Nevertheless, he would have expected the man to do something about how uneven he currently looked. Either Caelius was just that busy, or he didn't trust anyone to help him with it; neither possibility would improve the Death Hunter's already perpetually sour mood. So Jordan had glanced once and thereafter carefully avoided looking.
It had taken some effort to remain impassive while Caelius told them off. They'd been thrown into a situation considerably more dangerous than anyone had expected, followed the orders given to them, had actually managed to kill some of the abominations, and despite everything had come back without actually losing anyone, as far as he knew. He didn't see how they could have done better. Maybe that was just his inexperience speaking. Who knew? He still didn't think it had been handled with the kind of incompetence they were being accused of. ... The lack of proper reports was another matter, and he winced internally. That they deserved. He kept his mouth shut and his thoughts off his face. Nothing anyone could say was going to make any difference, and Gale had already proven that protesting was not just risky, but actually dangerous. Caelius was in a bad mood, and he was going to take it out on them; that was just the way of things.
The fact that the lingering cold had a name, a cause, and a cure was a relief, though. He'd been lucky to avoid that near-death state himself, and had worried quietly for his friends. Asking about it could have been a serious risk itself - if it wasn't a known condition, Dr. H would certainly want to know what it was, and that too was dangerous. But it seemed that it was a known and curable condition. One less thing to worry about.
He was sitting too far away from Jerry to kick the older man under the table when Jerry objected. Then again, that might have caused its own problems. Just as well, maybe.

"Good. Now let me explain how the Mission Report Forms are filled out. The first page is simple, place your full name, and the current date that you returned, or in this case, filled out the mission report. Secondly, you can ignore all the arbitrary questions about your age and health, if we were really concerned about that, you would not be here." Caelius was in full Speech Mode now as he went on about proper indentation and spacing mechanics.
For the Hunters who had not experienced the effect of The Chill, perhaps some of them actually listened, or perhaps they were still fixated on the Death Hunter's new hairstyle, it was hard to tell. Maybe a glorified sideways mohawk was the in thing these days.
However for those who had somewhat-obediently taken as prescribed, the best sensation they could explain some odd moments later was that something that was very obviously not their weapon was hissing at them. It was saying something but it was unclear, and it was upset, angry. As Caelius talked, the whispers became louder, until it seemed like a voice was screaming in their head. As the screaming seemed to drown out everything else out, it suddenly lashed out, invisible claws grasping at their chest. Their heart lurched and stopped, their lungs seemed to freeze over, and everything was pitch black as a force seemed to sweep through their body, they toppled to the ground, or half-toppled on against their table as their body worked against them, convulsing angrily.
And then, with one last whisper, a chill so foreign it was almost terrifying, the feeling was gone. The darkness had receded and so had the effects of the Chill. All that was left was a mind-numbing tiredness.
"-forget to sign the bottom part of the third page with your full signature." Caelius finished. He looked at the fallen trainees. "Welcome back. Good to see you cleared of the little bug you had there. It seems quite easy to succumb to Fear when you pretty much died yourself, isn't it? It would have been a pity to come back weeks later only to find a... misfortunate problem in our hands, we have enough work already without having to do disposal work as well. Perhaps next time you should consider telling the proper medical attendants about your little condition." There was definitely disdain in that tone, the same as always.
Without another word, he began to pass the sheets around. "Now then, are there any other questions?"

Jerry swallowed again, trying to get the pill to stop sticking in his throat as he shifted in his seat, trying to pay attention to the rest of the speech. It wasn't long before there was something in his ear... in his head. He shook it, rubbing at his temples as his breathing quickened. "Ah... s-sir..." He started, his voice barely a whisper. Candace was sitting nearby, the look of terror on his face as the hissing grew louder. What... what had he just...
The skinny, burn-bandaged man suddenly jolted, grabbing at his chest as his breathing became quick, asthmatic, his eyes wide with terror. He couldn't hear their commander's speech, his head full, bursting with a roar that did not belong to his weapon. "C-cand..." His hand had reached out to grab her arm, but it was too late.
He suddenly slumped, falling completely from his chair as his eyes rolled back in his head to land limply on the floor, spasming as though over come with a seizure.

Bix, who had been having a hard time concentrating already, found focusing on Caelius to be really difficult after he'd taken the pill. And then Mina started to hiss.
That's not me.. That.. snowfl...Bix... The voice of his weapon seemed to go in an out like static for a moment and then there was a brutal screaming in his head. Then there was just pain and blackness.
Of course that was all internal. On the outside the albino hunter suddenly clutched his head and seized forward. His forearms and elbows hit the table with a loud bang and he suddenly twisted to the side with a high pitch squeak of pain. The hands on his his then jumped to his chest and he was grasping and squeezing at his shirt, seemingly against his better judgement.
And then he just stopped. His limbs sagged, his writhing stopped, and he half lay on the table in silence. Bix's eyelashes fluttered a bit and his mouth seemed to sag to the side, a trickle of drool sliding out of his mouth onto the table top. The stillness only seemed to last a minute, two at the most, before he groaned and blinked awake.
Why was he on the table? Why was he drooling? His fair skin flushed bright red and he sunk back into his chair, feeling 100% again.
"Ummm.. what?" He stared dumbly at Caelius. He had totally missed all of that.

Cass nearly stumbled out of her seat when the first person hit the table, a look of something like panic coming over her face. She looked at Bix and Jerry, and for a moment it could have been questioned if the girl's eyebrows could have come off of her face. Woah.
UM, MR DUDE??
The mist hunter looked to Caelius, but he seemed content in continuing on with his talk about filling out reports, so she cautiously sat down again, trying to not look too freaked out by what had started happening around her. For the record, she was completely terrified. It was like the Death Hunter had said - they didn't care about their health. If they did, there would not be a group of hunters having a <******** seizure on the tables. Yiiikkeeesss!
Either way, Cass took the pile of papers when they were offered to her, taking the necessary form for herself before she passed them on to the next person, pausing and taking a form for Bix and setting it by him before she passed the stack on entirely. There. Now he had one too..for um..when he wasn't drooling all over the table. She sort of wanted to reach out and poke him to make sure he was alright.
The question about there being more questions from Caelius caused Cass to look at him in horror. Yes, she had a question, but..should she have...but then...would he..?
She bit her lower lip and looked at those who had taken the pills of death. Then she took a deep breath;
"Sir? If I think there is something wrong with my weapon, who should I be talking to about that?"
((Note: Cass is referring to the fact that she can't use Charge attacks until she's gone through three complete battles as it was rolled in the Red!Boss fight. ))

The Hunter had been there the entire time. What you talkin' about? He was just seated in his chair paying attention to what was said and done for the most part though his mind did wander a bit now and again that was until Jude glanced over at Harrison and Before as they talked about Caelius' interesting change in hairstyle. He shifted his shoulders and offered a quiet, "Goin' for the punk rocker look," but otherwise he said nothing else of it.
It wasn't Jude's business whether the man wanted to be a sudden punk or not.
Soon his attention was caught by those afflicted by the pill and it seemed something that he honestly didn't wish to go through himself. He made a firm mental note to do everything and anything in his power to avoid such a fate.
"That seems unpleasant," he said out loud sitting up a bit more in case he needed to help anyone. He may be a bit apathetic but he wasn't completely heartless.

Candace was giving Caelius her full attention, needing to get this right the first time so they would have to ******** do this again. She was going to begin to more actively avoid failure and do whatever it took to do so. Stab a few backs? Fine. She'd ******** do it. She did it before! Her fingers drummed along the table, the only visible indication to her extreme irritation to this situation other than the rigidity of how she was sitting. She was not amused. She knew how to fill out goddamn paperwork. She was an adult. This would not be her first time--
"C-cand..."
What now, Jerry? She wasn't in the mood right now. Candace sighed, her hard expression softening a little as she turned to see what he wanted. "..Jerry?" Where did he go? She heard something under the table and slid her chair out enough to duck under the table a moment. She was still listening but what the hell! Caelius was just going on like this was nothing! Was it? He was a strange man but...he wasn't even sighing in irritation over Jerry and Bix and anyone else who took the green pill suddenly having a seizure. Was this supposed to happen? The seizing stopped and Candace just stared. "Jerry? Are you okay?" She whispered to him as she reached out to help him out from under the table, concern showing on her face. She was still not in the mood for this s**t but it wasn't like any of the trainees were doing these things on purpose.
"So..the pills do that every time?" Candace asked skeptically as she sat back up, accepting the sheet and looking it over.

Jerry was like ice to the touch, even as Candace hauled him back up onto his chair, his head lolling. "Nrrrgle," Came his helpful reply, and no sooner had she let go of him, his head lurched forward to land on the table top.
He... SEEMED ok at least. Relatively speaking.
But the quiet snore that left him made it clear he had missed the rest of Caelius's speech.

Avant garde. Harrison squinted at Caelius's state of dress. Jude's comment on Punk rocker cleared it up though. The hair. Mohawk or toupee, Harrison thought it maybe wasn't the best idea to comment on a superior's personal style.
Especially when that superior was in a bad mood and giving people pills that made them flop around like fish in a frying pan.
He clenched his hands on the table, posture stiff, and tried to look unintrusive and not involved.
That is, until Cass asked about her weapon. He couldn't help leaning forward a little.
