"Not uh. You go for me?" He was in little kid mode now. The demon was reacting more with emotion then reason. He felt a great deal of anxiety thinking about seeing Amrita again.
"Lizzy.. Would you go with me if I went.." Charlie sat and hugged his knees. He wasn't in the mood for pizza now. Thinking of all the past moments of him and hard head really made his heart hurt bad. He may have not understood it him self but he had real feelings for Amrita. Ones he didn't understand and probably wouldn't for a long time.
"I don't want to go alone..."

"Sure, if it'll make you feel better?" She smiled kindly, giving Charlie another head pet as she wondered what could be wrong with the boil. He was acting so strangely and depressed all of a sudden! She paused, continuing the head pets in a bid to be comforting, "Just tell me when and I'll accompany you."

Tears welled and slowly started to fall down Charlies cheeks. He didn't say anything to Lizzy. Right now he just wanted to hug his knees and stay confused at exactly why he was crying. It hurt bad when he saw Amrita. Charlie him self didn't want to believe it was her because deep down he knew everything was going to change. Now all these pushed back feelings were catching up with him in the worst way.
He was going to have to see his 'special' friend and know that he could never grow in the ways she had. It hurt. There was a gap that Charlie had been wanting to deny. But now he couldn't lie to him self any more.
"... You go..." He said weakly, "I'll pick something out and you go." Emotion was crushing all reason now. He couldn't see Amrita now that this pain had found him.

She didn't want to assume; assuming was bad, as she had came to realize... Yet here was Charlie, the boil who seemed to be ever cheerful, crying because of Amrita, refusing to see the friend who he had called his 'special friend'. It worried and hurt her than Charlie was crying like that.
"There, there," She muttered softly, moving over to sit in front of Charlie before pulling him down, forcing him to lay his head on her shoulder before petting his back rhythmically with one hand, "Shhh... It'll be okay, Charlie. Whatever is hurting you will go away in time... Do you want to tell me about it? It might help you feel better..." All this time, one hand remained on the top of his head while the other remained on his back, trying to sooth him.

The crying kept on and was now turning in to silent sobs in to Lizzy's shoulder. He'd held his emotions back so long and now they seemed to take this moment of weakness to escape. Lizzy asked if he wanted to tell her about it but Charlie wasn't completely sure why he felt like this. He sat like that for a few moments before he tried to dry his eyes with his sleeve.
"Its different now," Charlie understood that much looking down at his boots. He'd told Amrita she'd always be his special friend but he wasn't sure if he was capable of being hers. "Its different now." He repeated him self weakly reaching up to dry his eyes with a long sleeve.
"Everythings different now." The deeper concepts were felt by the demon but not understood. There was a felt gap but Charlie did not fully understand it. He could only feel it in his heart. The tears stopped finally.

She shifted her position to hold Charlie better, keeping quiet save for the random whispered 'hush'; Charlie's words didn't really make sense to her at first, but when she linked it back to Amrita, she could sort of figure out why Charlie seemed so upset.
"Charlie," Her voice was soft, but firm, as she closed her eyes, concentrating on stroking his hair to comfort him, "Amrita might had changed, but deep inside, she is still Amrita. You are still a very important friend of hers - I am sure that hadn't changed... She would be sad if you are intending to avoid her..."
She gently pulled Charlie up to look at him, a small smile on her lips as she rested both hands on his shoulders, giving them a squeeze, "Why don't you take a few days off to rest, and then we can go visit Amrita when you feel ready? She is still your friend, right?"

Admittedly, Charlie was only half listening to Lizzy as he felt sorry for him self. That was until key words hit his ear. Amrita and Sad in the same sentence (well she, who was meant to be Amrita but still). Charlie face lit up with worry and concern. That wasn't what he wanted.
"Okay. I don't want Amrita to be sad." He took in a deep breath then took on a serious expression. "I won't be sad anymore for Amrita. I don't want her to be sad too." He gave Lizzy a determined nod. "She's my friend and and and... I LOVE HER!" He practically yelled it at Lizzy and then covered his mouth with his hands. "S-so I'll protect her."
But a few days of rest sounded like a good idea.

Love. Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear.
Lizzy had to pause at that, trying not to let her expression betray her mixed emotions; did Charlie even understand what he was saying? She could only hope that his 'love' meant that he loved Amrita as a friend rather than anything more... That could only mean trouble - even Amrita didn't understand those emotions yet!
"Alright," She smiled before pulling Charlie into a hug again, placing her chin on top of his head, careful to avoid the horns. She continued to fuss over him, "We can go look for Amrita together one day. You know where I stay right? You can come look for me anytime. Or Mac." Since she practically stayed there nowadays anyway.

It was true the full meaning of the word was too complex for Charlie or most boils his age to fully understand. But Charlie was using the word in the right context. He really was in love with Amrita. It wasn't a friend ship love, not was it the kind you run away and elope on a whim with. Charlie had young first love when it came to Amrita. Something pure that was hard to explain. It was enough to want to make him want her feelings over his own.
The demon nodded, "Okay together... Wait, why would you be at Macs?" Suddenly the hot ball was in Lizzy's court. Charlie gave the demoness a brow raise quite confused.

... Did Mac not tell him?
"Uh, well," She looked sheepish all of a sudden, staring at Charlie like she expected the boil to answer his own question before finally realizing that nope, he was really asking her why, "Mac's my boilfriend. Uh, special friend." She figured that Charlie would understand that term more.

Lizzy had to admit that Charlie was just making a really, really adorable face right now... Although it did not distract her from the fact that Mac did not tell him.
... Was Mac ashamed of her?
She deflated a little at the thought before perking up again; maybe it just slipped his mind? Or maybe he didn't want to have 'the talk' with Charlie? Pausing, she slowly nodded, "Um, yes. Mac's my... Uh, special friend." Her cheeks reddened as she looked away briefly.

Charlie gave Lizzy a stare. He really didn't mind if the two were special friends but the demon felt semi hurt that Mac had never told him this. Though, Charlie never really talked about feelings with Mac. That was usually where Lizzy came in. Finally Charlie decided to let this one go. He gave Lizzy a smirk.
"Well Mac couldn't have a better special friend," The demon relaxed a little.

She hugged Charlie upon hearing his comment, mostly because by hugging him, he could not see how red her cheeks were or how embarrassed she looked, "Awww, thank you Charlie! I'm glad you think so."
Oddly enough, having the demon's approval was important - she just didn't know till he actually said it.
She held him in her arms for a little longer, until she was sure that her face had gone back to its normal coloration, before letting him go, "I should get going, but remember! You are free to come look for me anytime!"

Charlie hugged Lizzy back when she wrapped her arms around him. The demon had no objections to Lizzy and Mac what so ever. Lizzy had always been that mother hen of a big sister to him. Mac had always been the cool big brother. They were both two very important people to the demon.
"Alright," He waved good bye but did not get up. "I'll see you around then~"
