Riley would stand by the rock, silently, with only a flicker of a look at Jericho and a nod, before returning to the rock. She would stand here until the last student left, to make sure no one wasted their mementos on this sham of a memorial. No doubt if any of the students placed their precious keepsakes here, the boogeymen would make sure to remove them. She was determined to not let that happen.

Lattice had come to the ceremony and she listened and paid respects though what she was expecting was not what she got. Her fingertips had clenched into tight fists her body becoming tense and uneasy. The brevity. The lies. It did nothing to make Lattice calm or happy it did just the opposite.
She thought she had felt rage back when it all down and she thought she felt angry when she was arguing with Hel but this...This was just ...
The Engraver let out an audible snort of anger when the whole thing ended and soon she was on her feet again. This was no way to hold a ceremony to honor the memory of the Professor, 'retirement' or not at least they could have done was properly do things.
As she stood she gazed around at the moving shapes of students. The ghoul wanted to do something but when it came right to it...
All she could do was stomp a foot and hiss the word 'Lies' under her breath as she moved to leave while not even looking at the sham of a 'memorial' left for Red.

He didn't bother to hide the look of pure irritation that was thrown at the Boogeymen as he walked up to them, his bells chiming softly. "When I said wait," he began, "I didn't mean wait until I'm looking the other way before taking off. I mean wait as in give me a few minutes to finish up what I was working on so I could come too."
A gloved hand was raised, thumb and forefinger used to pinch the bridge of his nose. This entire situation was ridiculous. "Look," he said after taking a deep breath, jabbing one finger at one. "I'm going to overlook the fact that you two ditched me and made me miss the announcement completely. Okay?"
One of the boogiemen stepped forward and murmured something in his ear before stepping back.
"Fine," the nameless boogieman snapped, jabbing his finger at them again. "But you both now owe me. Got it?"
Hmm... wasn't that boogieman familiar? Bells light colored hair, blue-white cloak... You got the feeling you've seen him somewhere before. But where?

Mot heard bells.
His head turned again to regard the familiar looking boogieman talk down to his colleagues. The conversation didn't interest him as much as his appearance. Where had he seen him, heard him.. It was on the tip of his tongue.
Wait.. wasn't he the one who had healed everyone in the front yard after the gauntlet?
Mot wanted to confirm. His head turned to Sammy, then Xiu, raising a brow behind his shades. "Isn't he.."

He stood near the back, without sitting, his wings curled against his back and a stony, unreadable expression on his face, paler than usual. Ren's chest felt tight, like he was having difficulty breathing, and he drew a sharp breath, willing himself to stay calm.
He had not planned on attending the ceremony; he'd told the others he had not known Professor Red that well and did not want to go.
Except here he was.
Why was he here? His mind and his heart seemed to be at war with one another, and Ren remained stoically silent throughout the brief procession, his lips pressed together in a thin line.
"Retired from Amityville."
What a load of bull.
He had no doubt Arel was only doing what was asked of him; after all, the minuscule secretary kept casting wary glances back at the boogieman standing at attention behind him. But retired?
Disgust and anger flickered across Ren's face briefly before it closed off again into a vacant, empty expression. Quietly he stepped up to the stone beside Mot and Xiu, giving them both a small nod in greeting.
There was someone else there, however - someone with a pale white cloak that might have been a shade of blue when caught by the light. Ren's brows drew together, stepping back to lean towards the pair he stood by. A flicker of recognition caught across his face, then quickly extinguished.
"Do you know who that is?"

Mot nodded his head to Ren. "I'm fairly certain he was in the front yard back at the House. He rang bells to heal our Fear. I'm almost certain is was him."It was that or bells were the IT thing that season.

Sammy stood with Riley and Jericho, for a while simply eyeing the small stone, it was a pathetic excuess for a resting place considering the monster of a stone dragon that rested somewhere between this world and the Human world. That dragons skull held pins of the students who had been there, all piled and placed in the cracks of the other wise smooth skull. The only spot of color left in that grayed out area of the landscape.
"I suappose you two first heard from Chris and Barth then?" She mentioned to Jericho and Riley, she didn't specify what but she was sure the two would understand.
As for the strange Boogiemen, he hardly rang a bell to Sammy. She had seen one or two maybe on the way into the house and even more on her way out, but otherwise the only one she ever cared about was currently dead and being brushed under a rug.

Glancing back as Sammy came on by, Jericho nodded before glancing back to the stone as well.
"Among others," he said. He actually hadn't gotten his information from Christof or Barth. There were others who had filed in and mentioned what had happened. Some had even brought back a piece of her... or ashes in the case of Vee.
His gaze shifted over towards the new boogeyman that came by but he didn't think anything of him. The dragon was not on the field trip after all.

Lattice had almost been able to leave until she heard bells.
Pin her limbs down tight...
The Engraver froze where she stood almost out but still very much there her minds filled with screams and she almost swore she felt blood spatter upon her face and neck as she relived a single moment from her childhood yet again.
It had to be bells. Always bells her hand reached out and grasped for support but only found thin air and after a few moments she just lacked the strength to stand and she just sunk to her knees. Perhaps it had been a mistake to be here...

Mandy looked tired. Tired and sad and oh so broken.
Retired. They-
They wernt even going to acknowledge what had happened. The sacrifice-
Just, brushed aside.
She hadn't thought.... She hadn't thought she could get any more cynical about the world. She'd thought she'd gotten over innocent ideas of if not happy endings then at least good ones long ago.
And these where the people she wanted to join.
Boogeymen... they wernt like the what she'd been told as a child or like how Professor Red had been.
Sighing Mandy stayed in her seat, empty eyes watching everyone move around the room. What a farce this was....

Arel's speech was heard even by the tatzel in the back. She was sure he was mistaken- no, he was downright a no good liar if he'd meant to say Red was still in Halloween. She was there- back in that room; Levi had been there to witness the death.
Her first field trip ever and the tatzel would have experience death in multiple fashions. She'd died ...and so had...
Her ears twitched at the thought of the final bout with BigRed. The ghoul wouldn't have known the symbol represented on the monument before, but now the connection was there- this was their professor's. Levi had left her own emblem by the skull of the beast back in the rocky terrain of the battle field where the hunters had first struck. The broken pieces of bone and ash were all that was left... she silently scoffed again at the idea of retirement.
Levi heard the chiming of bells near a certain grouping of boogiemen, briefly noticing her friends were also observing the events going on.
This... this was one of the ones that was in front of the haunted house. He didn't seem pleased.
It was all still too fresh in her head. Levi had been lucky enough to escape without physical injury, but the millions of thoughts, memories and experiences had her placing a hand over her face for a moment. Her head throbbed thinking about it.

Bul wanted to hear this. Although there had only been a day between the field trip and this announcement he was at least in walking condition. Approaching the so-called ceremony with a brutal limp, wrapped up in bandages, Unstabul kept his eyes to the ground when Arel began to speak. Keeping out of the way of the crowd the half beast leaned against a self-made crutch he'd been carrying around wherever he walked and sighed solemnly as the secretary poured out lies.
No s**t he was mad at this but he wasn't going to throw his neck out there and tell everyone about what happened. That wasn't his job and jack damnit he was not going to remember the painful experience moment by moment.
You keep tellin em what you're told but these Boogeymen are stupid for thinking shits' gonna stay quiet. Bul thought to himself staring down the officials by the ice demon. What goons.
It wasn't until one of the boogeymen chimed with his bells that Bul broke his concentration with the others. A familiar figure, he could only remember it for a moment's time considering he had rushed back into the house with his team once they were reunited. "Interesting.." he uttered under his breath and remained attentive to the figure. Maybe it had some interesting things to spill?
--
Word around this school got around pretty damn fast. Pepin was no exception to the telephone game in fact she was the champ at it. Though when the news came to her through various facts and fiction that Red had died and retired she couldn't pass up the opportunity to take some notes for the first issue of Paranormal Post.
It was a story that surprised her really, and did not make any sense with the one she was prepared to run about the wedding gift at all.
Hovering off the ground to get a better look, the glitch ghost pushed and shoved her way around to get closer to Arel and the boogeymen for any comment, utter, facial movement she could record in her mind and on a sheet of paper covered with intangible text.

Ren's brows lifted.
"I...don't recall that, but perhaps I wasn't there," he replied in a low voice to Mot, his brows drawing together in confusion. "But something about him seems familiar. I'm not entirely certain why."
He hesitated a moment, debating whether it would be rude, then finally asked quietly "...how are you feeling?"

Tybalt wanted to spit at the whole thing.
Retirement? What retirement? Red had died! Died protecting them after turning into an abomination and fighting against them and the fake reapers, and now they were all just supposed to pretend that it never happened? Pretend like everything was okay and that Red was off somewhere having a grand time?
Bull s**t!
It took all the black dog's strength from barking out. From saying something that he knew he would regret and face it for results that wouldn't change no matter what he said or did.
So it was with gritted teeth, and claws half dug into his own arms that he watched as the ceremony was carried out; remaining quiet and keeping a firm grip on his temper.
Though one thing was for certain. He would not repay his respects to this false ceremony. He had already paid his respects and said his good byes, face to face with Red's remains, with the knowledge of what really happened.
This? This was nothing more than a cover up to save face.

Wasn't there? Oh, that was right. Not everyone was at that strange field. What was the polite way to say he was feeling like s**t? He supposed there wasn't such a way. Mot scratched his head, raising a brow behind his shades. "Okay, I guess. Very groggy... You?" Mot asked, turning to look the boil over some. Nearly everyone left the field trip with some kind of injury, minor to severe. Oh right, Mot knew this guy. He was in one of his classes. Ren.
