Kalypso smiled at Uaithine. When he told her that how he wished he had the magic talent she had made her happy. There were times when she wished she didn’t have that magic, especially the times when she wished that she could use magic to fight. It made her think about the ball all over again. She could have fought and helped everyone. She shooked her head to clear it. She wasn’t going to think about that.
Kalypso was quite pleased at the young witchling. It was so hard to find someone who liked plants like she did. “Umm. Do you have a favorite plant or flower? Mines are Dahlia flowers. They were the first flowers I ever grew.” Kalypso remembered waking up every day to check on her flower that she kept by her bed. She also remembered getting frustrated when it didn’t grow the way she wanted it to. She cried when her plant had gave trying to grow and withered and died. It took her trying to grow one two more times before she got it right. Her experience reminded her of the continual cycle of life.
“Seeing how lovingly you treat that rose brings a tear to my eye.”

Uaithne didn't even seem to have to consider the question that she had posed to him, answering instantly, "Roses, actually." They were his all time favorite flower for so many reasons, "They are so beautiful! Not to mention they come in a rainbow of colors, they smell like so many different things, and with the right care they get bigger and bigger each year! I love flowers that come back after the winter is over. It's always so lonely when they are asleep." Sure, he had the ones that stayed inside all winter but that didn't make up for the loss of the sleeping roses. He still went out often during the winter to check on them, to make sure they were sleeping peacefully, and he was always happy when they woke up again come spring.
"Roses have always been my favorites, I have a lot of them waiting for me back home. All sorts of colors and scents, they are quite amazing. Dahlia are really nice too though, they are such a vibrant color." He said, unable to keep from praising his own collection of them since he found them to be quite amazing but wanted to lavish praise on the Dahlia as well since they were a pretty flower themselves. He was likely more then a little biased about his own roses back home though that given that he was the one that raised them but he couldn't help it, he was proud of his garden, "I miss the ones I have at home but my personal collection in my dorm room is getting pretty extensive." Taking up every flat surface in the room and then some given that he'd brought in more shelves for them when he ran out of the space he'd started out with.
When she mentioned how him treating the rose she gave him lovingly brought a tear to her eye he couldn't help but to flush a little, "It's a really nice one, I can't wait to get it back to my dorm room to join the other plants." He said, giving a smile. He already had great plans for the pretty rose, ones that made him smile at the bloom before smelling it again.
