I can relate a whole lot to their music.
I was in Vermont in 2001 (went up there because my grandmother was having heart surgery, and my grandfather was in the nursing home due to Alzheimers) when I first got the CD because I heard it was good (I was still in my pop/rap/hip hop stage) and I listened to it, and thought, "Damn, just a bunch of ******** who want to scream their head off and blare their guitars."
But then I got to thinking about the lyrics and realized the meaning of them. Like someone who knew what I was going through, who could bring out the emotions I was going through, and let it out.
So, while headed back, between playing Totally Hits 2001 (amazingly, I still like a few of those songs) Creed, and a few of my burned bling blinging rap CD's (damn, don't ask) I popped in Hybrid Theory.
It's like I finally had a way to let out my emotion, through Linkin Park.
I can relate to a lot of their songs, but I'll just give you a few.
One Step Closer- For too long I was on that edge, and about to break.
In The End- From a viewpoint of a person who thought that nothing mattered anymore, helped me to show that it really does.
Numb- Basically, who I am, is not who my parents want me to be. Here I shall explain the biggest part of my problems: I am TG. Also hating who you really are has its problems. Don't hate.
Breaking the Habit- "I don't know what's worth fighting for, or why I have to scream" When coming out to my mother and she disapproved, I felt like that. When she denied who I am, and shunned me, that's how I felt. What is it worth?
But their music helps a lot of people, not just me. Perhaps that's why they're popular.
But their style is so unique. They can change it up! With Chester's rocking and screaming to Mike's flowing rhythm, and they can really change up their music too, and sound awesome doing it.
I'm no longer that helpless soul I just described up above. While I have a hill to climb, I've realized that life is what you make of it, so I try to look at the best in things, and everyone.
Also keeping up with Linkin Park.
Now I'm mainly a rock type, but I listen to a real mixed bag now, when I used to be exclusively hip hop/pop.

Zaeon I love LP because my life relates to almost every song! Same here, it's like you can listen to their music and imagine things in your life that are related to the lyrics. It's awesome.

I like Linkin Park because they write music that is easy to relate to. You can just be drowned in their music, and come out calmer and know that other people are in situations like yours, or possibly even worse. You're never alone. (Listening to High Voltage right now ^^) Besides, how often do you come across a band that could (and has been) called...Heavy metal, rock, rap, and yes...even Christian rock once. Their music is inspiring and wicked awesome (XD) and well...they're just plain cool
