She clenched her teeth and seethed at him. He still hadn't fought back, regardless of the swings she'd taken at him. She wasn't sure if it was his preaching or his refusal to fight back that was making her more angry.
"Alright, Mister Know-It-All, if this war is pointless... Please enlighten me as to why you're prancing around out here in armor and a shield? You're just as involved in this war as I am. If it was meaningless, you wouldn't be here. You wouldn't be wasting your breath on me in this conversation."
Leto shifted her weight uncomfortably, suddenly becoming awfully aware of the pain shooting behind her knee. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath and calming herself. She really needed to learn to get a grip on her temper. When she opened her eyes, she tilted her head upwards and her gaze met his.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't hit old guys," her voice was low and still clearly unhappy.
"It's not. I'm not fighting to make people miserable. I'm just doing what I was trained and asked to do, and if Senshi and you people would stop getting in our way, maybe I wouldn't be ready to swing fists rather than talk. I'm not a bad person, Camelot. I'm a 19 year old girl fighting for a better life, and I'll do whatever it takes to achieve that. You can't tell me you're not out here doing the exact same thing."

"Because if I don't you will all kill each other!" He yelled back, color draining from his face as he rioted against her accusations and her anger. Even though he was causing it, for the most part, just by trying to get her to listen to him.
"I'm only here to serve, to protect, I'm only here fighting for ideals I believe in, just like you. But I don't have to be, any more than you do. It just takes some of us to take a stand, to make a difference, to do things against what everyone else is doing and find an end to it!"
He looked at her and growled. He was angry, but not at her. Maybe at her. He wasn't sure.
When she apologized, though, he stopped. He looked at her, surprised, the anger flooding from his face and color restoring itself in turn. He blinked at her. He hadn't expected her to apologize to him. Even if she had called him old.
"I know you're not a bad person. I know you're doing what you're told to do, what you're made to believe in. What you do believe in. We are similar, but I'm not hurting people. I'm trying to stop that, stop all this. I know I can't do it, I can't do it alone. I'm not out here to make you or anyone else miserable, either." He moved toward her, noticing she was favoring her knee. He offered her his arm. "Please, forgive me."

To say that Leto was suspicious of Camelot's intentions when he offered her his arm would be the understatement of the century. Her eyes moved from his face, to his arm, back up to his face. She held his gaze for a moment, her eyes cold and distant.
Just because she felt bad about hitting an old guy, doesn't mean she wanted to be friends or accept his help.
"I'm fine, I got it, no worries..." She muttered under her breath and rubbed her knee gently, waving away his arm.
"You've got a lot of fight in you, not physically obviously since you wouldn't hit back. But still. I'm impressed that you have the balls to stand up for what you believe in, even if I don't agree." She frowned, nearly turning it into a pout.
"If neither are out here to make the other miserable, then I should probably just accept your apology and be on my merry way. You may not like what I do, but I promise you... I am doing it because I believe what I'm doing is right. I've been on the other side. When you've played both teams, you have a better understanding of it all. I know you don't understand and you want to end this..." she sighed heavily and shook her head. "But sometimes it's not that simple."
She turned her back to him, mentally preparing for the walk back to the mirror that she would have to endure with a sore leg. She would have to be reminded later why she thought it was a good idea to patrol while she was still injured.
"Maybe when this is all said and done, we'll both be able to go back to our normal lives and meet again. As more than just Leto and Camelot. Maybe then our apologies will mean something. Until then? You're still on the enemy's side." She flashed him a quick grin over her shoulder before waving and limping away.
"Watch your back, Camelot. You never know where the Dark Mirrors are lurking."

Camelot frowned. Sure, she had punched him and would likely want to do it again, but he couldn't help himself. Maybe he if approached things from a gentler start he'd have better luck. He simply did not want to chase her off with his impossible goals and stalwart attitude.
At her words he glanced at her, listening quietly for a long moment. He felt his heart sinking, but he took a breath and steeled himself. He watched her limping away, feeling a shudder move through him.
He really did not like that warning.
"Until then," he added as she walked away from him, not pursuing, "I will continue to find a way to help you, all of you. Try not to get yourself killed in the meanwhile." He lowered himself, talking to himself as he glanced around nervously. "I'll try to do the same."
He felt very uncomfortable all of a sudden.
Sighing, he walked in the other direction, trying to decide what to do with himself, but mostly wondering how to get rid of the crawling feeling in his spine that he was left with. So far, his encounters with the dark senshi had not gone very well. Something told him they would not get better, but he had to keep trying.
