Walking so close to Sam had its advantages but it also had its disadvantages. She felt safe in the creepy old house when she was close to the older boy but when the youma suddenly appeared from behind the door and grabbed him, it caused Ainsley to fall forward and land on the ground on both her hands and knees.
Her reflexes were slow, and when she gathered her wits and looked up to see why she had fallen down she was quite surprised to find a pumpkin holding Sam like he was a piece of luggage at a busy airport on Thanksgiving. It took a second for her to realize this was no ordinary pumpkin, and that there was no way there was a person in that just trying to scare them for Halloween before giving them piles upon piles of candy to rot their baby teeth out.
"No! Sam!" She called, pouncing into her feet and grabbing at the pumpkin in an attempt to free the boy.
"Sam, no! I can't leave you!"
She could run away and transform but what would happen to Sam in the time it took her to do that? She couldn't risk it! She had to free him first and get him out of here! She couldn't leave a civilian like this so how was she supposed to leave her Sam like this? There was absolutely no way! She shook her head at Sam, trying to push the youma off of Sam. Two forces were greater than one, right?

Sam was surprised that Ainsley didn’t just up and runaway like he wanted her too. Darn civilians were so hard to deal with! Especially when they were close friends. Still, with the added force of Ainsley, Sam was able to wretch himself free from it’s terrible grip.
Sam stumbled backwards, but quickly regained his balance. He took a firm hold on Ainsley and just started to run. Maybe, if he went with her, they could split up and he could come back and take care of the youma.
Running down the hall of the spooky house, Ainsley in tow and the youma clumsily stumbling after them, Sam shot out the front door. On the houses porch, Sam looked around. “You go that way,” He pointed back the way he had come. “I’ll go this way, and we can meet up back at my house. Stupid thing can’t chase us both.”
Letting go of Ainsley, Sam started to go down the way he gestured. “I’m fast, it won’t get me.”

Ainsley most definitely had her serious game face on when she managed to help Sam free from the grip of the youma. Now all she had to do was get him away from here so she could properly deal with it. It shouldn't be too hard, right? Before she even knew it her and Sam were running away and her plan was going perfectly! They were gaining a bit of distance on the youma and they were practically home free, or Sam was. She would have to sneak away before he realized.
The plans took a change for the worst though. Sam wanted to split up. Ainsley's face immediately changed into something almost sour. She didn't think they should split up, at least not right away. It took a few seconds for it to dawn on her that by him suggesting they split up, he was saving her the trouble of having to sneak away. Not to say she wouldn't still worry, but she'd just have to quickly make it back here before the youma could even think of following him!
"Okay!" She replied. "Don't you dare let it get you!" She warned Sam before running toward the corner they had bound around previously so she could find a place to transform.

Soon both children were out of sight of the house. Sam could back it back. The dark-haired boy ducked between a fence and soon reemerged as his powered self, Super Sailor Chibi Ixion. Running back down towards the house, the senshi went inside.
What he found was the clumsy youma, on the floor in the hallway, eating the candy that Ixion had earned trick-or-treating and dropped on his mad-dash out of the house. “HEY! That’s not yours! Pumpkinhead, you better get ready to be made into pie.”
Candy wrappers and chocolate crumbs fell from the youma’s mouth as it stood back up.

Ainsley's breath had been short when she stopped to transform, wasting little time before running back to the house as Super Sailor Chibi Hypnos. She knew she had no time to waste, never knowing if the youma had left the house and escaped after Sam or not. She was worried when she didn't see the youma anywhere outside, but there was hope. She ran into the house with gusto, nearly running into the back of Super Sailor Chibi Ixion!
She gasped, almost expecting Sam had tried to be a hero and had come back. This didn't feel like his back though. No, it was familiar but not the same kind of familiarity. It felt larger, more powerful. It was a body that had protected her time and time again. It wasn't Sam. The back she was pressed up against so suddenly was Super Sailor Chib Ixion and with the realization of that she gasped.
"Ixion?!"
She pulled away, her eyes darting from the youma to the candy on the ground. There was definitely a frown when she seen all of her and Sam's hard work on the ground, half of it eaten by the beast. This was no time to be sad though. Sam had gotten away and after she'd taken care of this she could go back and get more candy with him! She wouldn't let this over sized pumpkin ruin her evening with Sam.

A new body smacked into his. For a second, Ixion worried that there were more pumpkin youma, ready to move on from candy to eating senshi. But a familiar voice quelled his worry. Glancing over his shoulder, he saw the familiar body of Hypnos only with a new super fuku. “Hypnos???”
What was she doing here? There was no time to ask, as the jack-o-lantern moved forward, twiggy hands stretched out to grab the children.

Like Ixion, Super Sailor Chibi Hypnos had no time to ask him why he was here. She could always imagine it was partial to the fact he always seem there when she need him, almost like a real knight in shining armour. Ixion was more like a knight in soot covered armour though. Dirty or not, Hypnos always appreciated when he was nearby. She knew she could count on him to save her if she was ever in trouble.
"Close your eyes!" She warned her ally as she cupped her hands together and called to her asteroid. Like Ixion, it was always there to give her the strength she needed. She need her power, and it began to flow freely in her hands until it was practically overflowing. She didn't have a chance to look to make sure because she had to stop him from grabbing them and to do that meant she had to act now!
"Hypnos Sleep Dust!" She cried at the youma as she opened her cupped hands onto the face of the pumpkin youma, most of the particles becoming trapped inside of the pumpkin while the rest blew into her face with no effect and floated around Ixion with what could only be described at this moment as malicious intent. She couldn't afford to have him fall under the affect of her spell. Although she knew it would affect him, she didn't know if it would work or not on the pumpkin youma because it only had holes in a pumpkin in place of eyes. It did work for the bog monsters at camp though and they didn't entirely have eyes. The pumpkin youma seemed very much alive and seemed to be able to see them just fine so why not? She prayed that it would work because it looking to grab either of them any second.

Ixion followed Hypnos’s order well. His eyes shut tight when Hypnos blew the dust towards the pumpkin’s face. The youma sneezed at the dust. Afterwards it began to move slower, and it let out a curious sound much like a yawn. Yawns, no matter their source, we contagious. They were even more effective, when there was still sleep dust in the air. Ixion yawned , then looked to see the youma moving slowly like someone about to fall asleep. He was feeling a little bit sleepy himself. “Hyp.. nos?”
Ixion yawned again. Rubbing his eyes, he tried to keep his concentration of fighting off the sleepy feeling, as well as the youma that was still approaching.
The youma continued to move it’s mouth open wide. There was a chance! “Ixion Ember Blitz!” Two firey coals shot into the youma’s mouth. The effects were, surprisingly minimal. The interior of the pumpkin’s head was already lit by fire, Ixion’s coal only fueled it more. The pumpkin’s head glowed intensely.
“What?” Ixion said surprised. Normally that would do a youma in. Apparently with this one, his power was not so effective. "I guess we'll just have to smash it."

Hypnos remained unphased by her attack but the contagion of a simple yawn seemed questionable. She didn't know why but even she felt a yawn come on, and seemed to be a bit more tired than she had been prior. It certainly wasn't her attack, but perhaps her company? Thankfully, unlike her attack, it didn't linger very long at all. Her eyes flew open in time to see Ixion's attack on the youma.
She looked to him, and then back to the youma. Ixion seemed quite surprised by this and when Hypnos took a closer look at the situation she could see something was off-putting. It didn't seem effective at all? In fact, it seemed to help it! This most definitely wasn't what they wanted to do! However, when Ixion suggested smashing it it Hypnos practically grabbed his arm in an intent to stop him from possibly trying to.
"No!" She called out, slowly withdrawing her hand off him.
There had to be an alternative to smashing it! The child tried to think fast, her eyes looking at the pumpkin head and the glowing eyes. Did it seem like the fire was fueling it on? There were plenty of thoughts and ideas running through the child's head but after a quick moment Ixion would hear what would probably be the most bizarre questions he'd ever hear Hypnos say in lieu of there not be a zombie apocalypse.
"C-can we just remove its head?" It could go to sleep, make a nice porch decoration... something other than try and eat children.

Ixion was taken aback by Hypnos’s protest. Youmas were meant to be dealt with and in this case it seemed like smashing was the only option. “But…” Ixion shook his head and started to try and convince the girl that killing it by smashing was the way to go. But he saw the desperation in her eyes to do anything else. “… I guess.”
The monster had slowed down to the point it was almost sleeping standing up. Ixion moved up to it cautiously and put his hands to the pumpkin, careful to avoid the mouth. “We can try it.” Ixion held the side of the head firm, ready to pull when Hypnos was.

Ixion... stopped?
Hypnos had never actually convinced someone not to before. This was a great stride toward her goal and she could barely comprehend it. She didn't have time to enjoy it but she was definitely looking at Ixion in a whole new light. He was fantastic! She just wanted to hug him and thank him but she had something more important to deal with and it was threatening to bite off Ixion's hands at the moment.
She carefully walked over beside it, looking carefully at the youma's face as she put her hand on top of it. It was so sleepy that it barely seemed to notice but the child was stroking the top of the pumpkin head, caressing it gently. She was trying to comfort it like a parent comforted a child after being awoken from a nightmare, trying to lull it to sleep. She didn't want it to suffer, and she hoped that this would be better than smashing it to pieces.
"Sweet dreams," she whispered, bracing either hand on the pumpkin head before lifting it off.

Hypnos was a weird senshi. That’s what Ixion noticed when she pet the pumpkin like it was a cat or another pet. But he admired the way she dealt with the issue at hand. He had never seen anyone treat a youma like that, it was odd. She wasn’t malicious, or keen to get it of the thing. More like she just wanted what was best for everyone. Safety for themselves, and a peaceful sleep for the youma rather than a messy end.
Together the children lifted the head off. But it was still active. The youma head continued to try to bite at the hands of the young senshi, there was a fire inside of it that simply refused to die that easily. Literally, that was the case. The candlelit fire was still burning inside the youma’s head.
Walking the pumpkin over to a table, they put it down. Ixion stepped back to look at the thing, wonder exactly what they should with it. It seemed just like any other jack-o-lantern now, except for the moving mouth. “Maybe…” Ixion mused. Wandering back over to it, he lifted up the stem top of the lantern to peer inside. There was the soot left from his coals and a burning candle. That was it.
“I wonder… we could blow it out? My parents always blow out the candle at the end of the night... maybe that'll work here.”

The pumpkin had a desire for life that seemed to rival any human. It definitely made a dent in the child's heart just thinking about it as she tried to make sure it didn't manage to bite her fingers off in the process of walking it over to the table.
Curiosity would be what it was called that caused Hypnos to look into the hole at the top of the pumpkin and then right into the pumpkin's body. There was a burning fire in there that most definitely was what seemed to rival their very spiritual flames. Even without a body it burned on, possibly even after a time ti should have quit. Who knew what it was feeling without a body, possibly helpless. Maybe it felt afraid. Either way, Hypnos looked at Ixion and nodded. His suggestion seemed reasonable and logical to her.
"Okay, let's try." She said with little emotion before she looked to him, and then went to blow into it. It would probably take both of them to blow out such a flame.

“Alright. One. Two. Three.” Taking a big breath Ixion blew at the same time as Hypnos. The candle was quickly snuffed out, leaving only a trail of smoke. The pumpkin head’s mouth stopped moving and it became as still as any other normal jack-o-lantern.
A clock on the haunt house’s wall struck. Reminding Ixion that somewhere outside, hopefully back at his house by now, Ainsley was waiting for him to return. Glancing at Hypnos, Ixion gave a faint smile. “Uhumm. I guess I better get going. I have somewhere to be, and candy to collect. “
Ixion made to leave, he didn’t bother to retrieve what was left of the candy in the pillow case. The sack itself was old, it wouldn’t matter if he turned up without it. But he wanted to make sure he got home before it was too late to go back out. He didn’t want to leave Ainsley without any candy after the scare they had.
Before going, Ixion turned and looked over Hypnos’s outfit. “Not a costume but it looks nice. You almost look princess for bed, or Wendy in Peter Pan.” Without saying anything else, Ixion went out the door and ran off down the street. Soon enough he was back to being plain ol’ Sam and rounding around a corner towards his house.

The youma had been put to rest, and hopefully it would be able to have sweet dreams. It was a small thought, but Hypnos sincerely wished such a thing on even it. She gave one last look at it before she took behind Ixion to leave. She paused when he complimented her fuku, blushing lightly due to it. It was her first real compliment regarding it and it was coming from Ixion!
"Thank you," she murmured before she waved goodbye to him.
With Ixion gone, Hypnos suddenly had something cross her mind and it was very urgent. She had to get back to Sam! Oh dear, what was she going to say when she came back so much later than him? Did she get lost? Yeah, maybe she got lost! It would have been a good idea if this hadn't been the neighbourhood where her house was at but it was the best she could think of. She was scared, and she got lost, it wouldn't be so unbelievable!
Of course, she rounded the corner of Sam's house as Ainsley but she didn't see Sam.
"I wonder where he is," she said to herself. Maybe he got tired of waiting outside and went back inside? Ainsley stood by the door, pondering whether she should knock or not.
