He silently rooted for hr as she made her hunt, smiling when she brought the prey down quickly and cleanly. Yes... she would be a good lioness to bring back to the pride. He was not even sure when he had started to think about such a thing, never before had he seen a rogue and wanted to take them home with him, but this one... she was different. As he had watched all through the night and all the next day, the idea had slowly formed, ripening within his sub conscience before it slowly rose to the surface of his mind like a bubble through tar.
By the time he finally realised it was there, it was fully formed and already deeply rooted. He wanted her. She would make an excellent addition to his homeland, for all they were warlike and warriors, they still needed females, but with the joining rate heavily towards males, the pride was swiftly become bare of the feminine influence. He knew he would take her back with him, it was only a question of how.....
For the time being, he stayed in the shadows, watching her as she checked her surroundings. he would let her eat before approaching, for the way home was long and would be hard on her if she was starved.

Brìghde narrowed her eyes, that sense of 'wrongness' still making the fur on the nape of her neck stand on end. She weighed her options, looking about her, shoulders tense, then choose to remain in the semi-open. The tall grass would limit her vision and right now, she wanted to be able to see around her.
Lowering her head, she tore into the soft underbelly, not wasting time with the her favorite pieces. She ate quickly, emptying the body cavity, not bothering to crack the ribs and suck out the delicious marrow she so enjoyed. Throat was consumed next, the blood lapped up, and while she regretted not being able to eat the thick meat of the hunch of her kill, she did not feel it wise to linger to long.
Licking the blood from her muzzle, and cleaning it from her paws and chest, she gave her self a quick once over, hoping to find time to clean off better when she was away from this place and perhaps away from whatever was 'stalking' her like prey.

Enough was enough. He had waited long enough. he knew he wanted her and that her future belonged in his pride. He only had to bring her back,one way or another. He may have been gree to the ways of women, but he had known enough thralls in his life to make a guess that she wouldn;t come willingly, at least not at first. Some thralls came to the pride on their own, seeking sanctuary and safety, others were found and brought back for the same reason... but some, like this female, considered themselves too prideful or, simply misunderstood what the pride was.. others never bowed to the yoke of their position but those were very few and far between, in general most realised their life would be easier as part of the stormborn and so, made their peace with their 'capture. Had Lucivar thought she would suffer within his homeland, he would have moved on, but she was alone and clearly, while she was surviving, she was not living. He could see the strain of her existence in her body, the way she was always alert, the dullness of her coat, on fire though it may be. No, he truly believed she would benefit from being taken with him.
Finally he revealed himself, striding forwards through the short grass with all the power and grace of a male in his prime.

Brìghde lifted her lip, a warning growl leaving her as she placed one paw over her kill protectively, " You took your share yesterday." Her voice was not friendly, in fact it was down right hostile.
Her bright green eyes flashed with her ire and she braced herself. There was no way that she could take him, that she could even fend him off. He was a large mature male, and she barely into adult hood. He had the look of a lion who fought, and fought often, and rarely lost. If he wanted this meal, he could take it easily, but by the gods she was not going to just cower away from him and let him have it.
It never even came into her mind that he was handsome, strong and with eyes that match the sea during a storm, all that she saw was a male who had stolen her kill yesterday and may want this one now.

He seemed unfazed by her reaction, brown ears tipping forwards as he tilted his head. "I am not after your kill." Settling down a few paces away he started to idly lick his forelimb, tail curling behind him. "Eat your fill, no one will disturb you while I am here." He lifted his head, pale blue eyes meeting her own hostile glare, his own expression calm and untroubled, even slightly amused.
He seemed content to sun himself as he turned his gaze away but kept her in view out of the corner of his eye. Of course he didn't trust her, nor really expected her to do as he had suggested, he was ready for an attack, or for some barbed comment. But whatever she did, he was going to try and soft-pawed approach for the time being.

" I have already finished." Brìghde's voice was even, the tone of it neither friendly, nor hostile as she watched him carefully. She drew herself up, her tail laying still along the ground, shoulders tense.
If he attacked her only chance was to be faster then he and hope not to get pinned by him. He blocked her escape in front of her, and to her right was the thick backing of the jungle. She had no idea what was behind, but knew to her left was the steep slope of the ravine. If she had to, she would take her chances with the ravine, though breaking something was not high on her list of something she would prefer to do.

Lucivar continued to clan his paw, though he paused and looked over at her when she sat bristling at him. "It may be presumptuous of me, but when was the last time you had the luxury of eating in peace? Consider this my apology for interrupting your hunt last night." He had little practice with females, even less with rogues who were usually alone and hostile. But he was determined to win her, one way or anther.

Brìghde regarded him with suspicious eyes, " This was my first meal in several days, and as I said, I am done." She stood up, wanting to put as many miles between her and the male in front of her as she could. She had a very bad feeling about him, as if it he had something to do with what she had felt 'watching' her last night.
" You are welcome to the rest of it if you like," she offered as she went to move past him, only the tenseness in her shoulders betraying how nervous she was to do so.

Lucivar sighed and set his paw down, though kept his gaze on the limb as he spoke again, his tone gentled yet it held a note of power.
"You might want to stay a moment. I did not come here by happenstance." Turning to look at her again, pale ocean-blue eyes serious yet warm, he smiled warmly. "I wish to offer you a place within my own pride. You are a talented huntress and a fierce woman. Those qualities are much admired where I come from." Smoothly regaining his feet he remained relaxed, his solid frame muscular but lean, not bulky. Up close the map of scars that traced his body under his fur was almost visible, like a ghost pattern under the colour of his coat though there were no fresh scars.

Brìghde backed up a step, hating that she was forced to look up at him to meet his gaze, for he was taller then she. The sunset colored lioness kept her voice even, " Your offer is kind, but I have no need of a Pride."
If I am within a Pride I can not find my brother
She tried once more to move past him and out into the open grasslands and freedom.

He glanced at her, back at the kill, then at her again. "I hate to disagree, but I must. There are many rogues around who would not hesitate to take advantage of you, or your meal." He remained solidly in her way, like a a furry brown wall, his pale eyes tracking her, still calm, but there was something else there, a cold determination.

Brìghde bristled at his comment, but kept her tongue, almost..." I know the dangers of where I live. I have lived her all my life. I survive."
She took a breath, " I have a long way to travel today to make my next shelter before night fall. Every moment you delay me makes it that much more I must push myself across these unforgiving lands. So if you please, stand aside."

Arching a brow he still did not move, but regarded her silently for a long moment. "Would you not rather live, than merely survive?" He paused and gave her another long look, almost considering. "Have you ever lived within a pride?"

" This is my home, for reasons that are my own," Brìghde told him, her tone flat, " now, if there is nothing more that you care to discuss with me other then the fact you have a Pride I have no wish to belong to, I must be on my way."

Lucivar shrugged one muscular shoulder and stepped to one side. "I guess not." Calm as ever, he watched her patiently, those pale blue eyes seeming to see right through to her very soul.
