B. Politely ask if she's seen any children about alone tonight, or anything else suspicious. Only right not to jump to conclusions; and manners are always important.

Aquos rubbed the back of his head, not have expecting a Naiad? Maybe? It was too dark after all. "Well you see miss...Having you seen any children about or anything suspicious? It's of great importance to find any possible information on this matter..." He hoped he was being nice enough.

Zuine opens the door to the reading room and peeks in. "Ooh, Terjie, look at this! What comfy chairs! We should look in here." She nods sagely. She'd been a little intrigued by the haphazard state of the library; perhaps little children had been through here.

Terje, however, had found another door. This one led down a dark stairwell. "Zuine, over here!" he calls. "I think we should look down here. We can come back and search the other room later--if it's just chairs and stuff they'll likely be safe there until we come back. But it's dark and scary down here--if they've gone this way then they'll be frightened. Too bad your power doesn't do the reverse also," he says, chuckling as he starts down the stairs.

They're gonna go look in the basement incase that isn't clear. sweatdrop

Round 3.5
(for Mene / Zuine and Terje)

The stairs creak a bit as the pair of Pae descended into the darkness; it was almost too stereotypical actually. There was a little light filtering down from the open doorway. It wasn't enough to illuminate the entire room, but it was enough that they could move about a bit without bumping into one another. Mostly.

A few minutes of searching confirmed that there were definitely no Pae children down here. There were a number of other interesting objects with potential, however. But it was almost time to rejoin the others and see if they'd had any more luck. On the way out, one of the Pae spotted a lantern on the floor. The other tripped over a box. Ouch.

Do you...

A. Open up the box and see what's inside?

B. Take the lantern with you. Could help if you can get it lit and have to search any more dark locations.

"Jeesh, it's dark down here," grumbles Zuine. Her dark-vision was pretty good, but normally she liked to take advantage of the darkness and not be trying to penetrate it. "I don't think they're down here, Terje. Let's go look in the comfy room."

"No, wait, I've found something," says Terje. He'd spotted a lantern. "I think it's a lamp--hang on while I try to light it."

"I'm gonna head upstairs, you figure out the bloody lampOW SON OF A....GUARDIANS' GIANT TITS! WHAT IS THIS?" She'd tripped over something. Normally she isn't quite so...loud...but it'd startled her and something about this night had her on edge.

Terje puts down the lantern and darts over to Zuine. "Are you alright?" he asks. "Looks like a box you've tripped over. it must have something heavy in it if it didn't just....move." He kneels down next to the box and opens it.

Zuine mutters darkly. "Better be valuable."

B.To Hula Bob's! Even if the kids aren't there, maybe you can get a drink or a snack?

Kobocha headed towards the light and spotted...a bar? Yes. Yes it was.

Kobocha started to doubt they would be here and almosted turned around before she heard good laugher and friendly chatter. It was true. The light did have a warmth to it. Maybe the kids are here? Could they be taken in until the calmed down or healed up before they were taken home?

Kobocha decided to go in and ask

(I'll fill this post in later, I have to run to work and I won't be back until the next prompt is up D= )

Chika chooses option B Ask politely

Chika blinked, looked at the other pae. "Would you happen to have seen a couple of kids running around here?" The faun asked curiously, trying to be polite about it. She didn't want to insult the naiad if she was willing to help!

But then, Chika was just grateful to see someone else out there. Hopefully this naiad knew where the kids where, and better yet was nice! She always wanted new friends.

B. The kids are more important. Grab that sandwich from the table, and get moving. It's almost time to rejoin the others.

SANDVICH.

Add a teaspoon of BOLOGNA

Edit:
Cosworth grabs only a few food items that are within easy reach and easy to swallow. He knew the children weren't in the kitchen. Indeed, it seemed like they had never been here.

Disappointed, but at least with a nearly-full stomach, he grabs one more sandwich as he's preparing to leave. He bundles it into a bag and shoves the lot into his pocket, not really looking what's inside it.

Round 4

Mmm...Sammich...

Kids definitely came first; that was the whole point of this search. Just a quick snack to keep up your energy, then back to the search. And sandwiches were portable, so you don't even have to wait. Grabbing the sandwich, you take a last look around the kitchen, then start to head out. It's time to meet up with the others again...and...what is this, paper?

Peering at the sandwich curiously, you're surprised to find a piece of paper between the slices of bread. What in the world? Holding it up to the light, you read something about...a coupon? How odd. Well, anyway...back to the others...

Open the Box!

Heavy? Yes. Valuable...maybe not so much. You open the box to find...

...rocks? The heck? Who the heck keeps rocks in a box? In a basement? Just for good measure, you push some of the rocks about...yep, more rocks...and more rocks...and...a piece of paper?

Rocks and paper...now all you need are scissors. Oh wait, it's getting close tot time to meet the others. Best get back to the rendezvous point.

Ask Politely:

"I'm sorry," the Naiad says, shaking her head, "but, I haven't seen any children around here. No other Pae at all, though...I did find something strange by the water's edge. You can have it if you'd like." She reaches out, passing you a piece of paper. "I'm not sure what it is, but it's not like I can take it back into the lake with me," she chuckles. "Either way, best of luck with your search. If I see anything, I'll be sure to let you know." With a smile and a nod, she turns and slips back into the water with barely a ripple to mark her exit.

You look at the piece of paper in your hand, studying it as you turn back to meet the others. Maybe they've had some luck.

Hula Bob's Bar:

The atmosphere in the bar is light and festive, and everyone seems to be having a nice time. And yet, there are no signs of any kids around. Shame. Still, while you looked around, you got a chance to have a drink and a bite to eat, so at least you're feeling satisfied. No worries about feeling faint on this search mission!

You're about to leave when you set your drink glass on the bar. The napkin wrapped around the glass sticks to your hand and you have to pull it off to leave it on the bar. Wait...that's not a napkin...coupon? For what? As you puzzle this over, you make your way towards the door to leave and meet back up with the others.

Everyone

Back at the meeting point, all the Pae have gathered around to share what they did (and didn't) find. Looking disappointed, but perhaps not surprised, Iris fluttered forward to address the crowd.

"There, there, quiet down, everyone. Don't lose hope! The little ones could still be found soon. We can't give up yet. There are still two places we could look, though I warn you, one could be dangerous. We must tread carefully, but I fear we can leave no location unsearched. We must find these little ones."

"Some of us will search the Loka Nei Forest. It is dense and dark, but not so dangerous. It has become a bit overgrown as of late, so it could be easy to get lost, especially for little ones. The rest of us will search Dragnid Forest. We will not tread deeply into its depths, of course, but we must make sure that there is no sign of the little ones there, and that they haven't gotten themselves in trouble. This forest is a dangerous place and not for the faint of heart. Please, do not feel that you are being forced to go there if you do not wish."

Where will you go?

A. Loka Nei Forest; it's a pretty big place and surely no children would be foolish enough to have gone anywhere near that evil forest.

B. Dragnid Forest; even if it's dangerous, that's all the more reason to go there and make sure the children aren't in trouble!

Zuine grumbles as she and Terje rejoin the group. "Who keeps a box of rocks in the basement?" she mutters.

Terje chuckles lightly. "Don't be such a whiner, Zuinnie. The children are still lost, and it's getting quite dark out, and all you've got is a stubbed toe, you silly woman."

"Hmph." Zuine folds her arms over her chest. "Well, since you seem to care so much, you pick which of the nasty places we go next."

Terje shrugs slightly. "Let's search the Dragnid Forest. If they've gone there, they must be terrified."

Zuine opens her mouth to say something, but remembers she did tell him it was his choice. Brothers. D:

Chika blinked, looking at the paper in her hand. Odd. Well whatever, she tucked it away for later and resigned herself to returning to the meeting point. She hadn't found the kids out there, she'd gladly try another spot.

Once there, Iris offered the choice between Dragnid and Loka Nei? She giggled, knowing where she was going. She was a forest dwelling girl, this wouldn't be too hard for her right? The stripped girl figured not too many of the other pae would be willing to go into the dragnid forest, but then she hadn't expected to have company with her when she went to the north beach too..

"I'll go to Dragnid, I know my way back from the forests pretty well.." She offered, stepping off to the side to see who would be going with her, if any at all.

(She chooses option B)

Aquos blinked at the paper and thought it may be better to keep that for later, swinging by his place to dump it off before heading back to listen to what was to happen next. He listened quietly, looking to the two small groups that had already picked and ran his hand throw his hair. Where to do...Eenie, menie....

"Dragnid Forest it is..."

Once more, Cosworth gauges the reactions of the other searchers. He's quietly relieved that most seem to have decided to search Dragnid Forest- which gives him the perfect excuse to volunteer for the much less perilous Loka Nei forest.

"I'm not sure I'll be of much assistance in Dragnid." Cosworth says, apologetically. "I'll search Loka Nei. I won't weigh anybody down that way.

Kobocha went back to the meeting point and decided to see what everyone else found. But alas, nothing.

Kobocha heard where they should look next and she decided to look in the Dragnid Forest.

"Im not scared of some forest," she scoffed and went towards the direction of the forest to begin the search anew.

Round 5

Loka Nei Forest:

Once a temperate forest, Loka Nei has become overgrown with the climate change, now bordering on becoming some sort of tropical rain forest instead. It would be no small wonder if the kids had gotten lost in here. You pick your way through the lush greenery, wondering which direction you should go.

If memory serves, the Fae Clearing should be not far ahead. Even with the forest's transformation into a jungle, that small clearing remains by magic of its own. If the kids did get lost, maybe they knew well enough to find their way there and stay until someone found them.

In another direction, you think you can hear the sound of running water. A river, if you remember your geography correctly. A big one, that has some spots with pretty rough rapids...uh oh...

Where will you go?

A. Head towards the Fae Clearing; it is a magical place afterall. You can always hope for a miracle?

B. To the River; the clearing might be safe enough, but no kids should go swimming in the river at this time of night!

=====

Dragnid Forest:

Even though it was already dark, there's something about the forest ahead that seems even blacker than black; simply...sinister. The crickets and owls and other night noises that you'd heard previously in the background are now conspicuously silent. The forest seems to simultaneously be trying to will you away while reaching out to welcome you into its shadows, with open claws...

Best not to linger here too long, but what to do? Where would the kids have gone, if they came this way? Would they have played it smart, keeping to the outer edges of the forest, or would they have foolishly plunged into the dark? Or something dragged them there...not a good thought.

What will you do?

A. Stick to the edges; you can't be too cautious in a place like this.

B. Plunge into the darkness! For pony the kids!
