Rosie sat in a little swivel chair next to the one Joker was sitting in. Legs curled up under her, and a doll wrapped in her arms, she watched the screen displaying Sapphire kneeling on the ledge of a building. Her eyes then fell on another screen. This one of Alex walking up and pausing in front of the enterance.

".....I tooooollllddd yoooouuuu..." she said in a little sing-song voice, grinning as she looked up at the man beside her.

Rosie grinned, watching the monitor with Alex as the woman walked through the entrance and began looking around. "You know...you never did show me just what all you made for this place. You....will warn me ahead of time if they run into anything really gruesome, right? I can handle the before and after...but I don't think I can watch the process just yet." she said, looking back at him.




Meanwhile, Sapphire was on the rooftop watching on as Alex disparaged through the entrance gate. A shadow at the far corner of the area move in an odd manner. That should be Roxy. She had moved inside as well.

Alright....that just left herself. She needed to wait just a tad longer, then see what she could do about sneaking i-

Very suddenly, something wrapped itself around Sapphire's mouth, and she felt her entire body jerked backwards and into the shadow of the higher building next to her. She landed hard on the ground, and felt a body pressed against her back...as well as something very sharp pressed across her neck.

"Make a sound...and I'll break your jaw..." a woman's voice behind her hissed in a hushed voice. A very familiar voice.

"Nice to see you too..." Sapphire replied quietly, sarcasm dripping from her tone.

The blade pressed against her neck harder. "I...am not in the mood to play games with you." Gossamer hissed.

Rosie frowned and gave him a bit of a look. "Well that's no fun...I'm going to miss everything then."



Alex carefully walked down what paths were stomped into the ground. Her eyes scanning every inch of the area around her, not wanting to miss the slightest bit of movement. She agreed it was way too odd that the heroes had gotten an invite. And even stranger that there seemed to be no workers around either. She didn't want to believe that, but so far....she really didn't smell anyone around. At least no one that was around now or recently.



"What do you want?" Sapphire asked, doing her best not to move too much. The woman could slit her throat at this point, and wouldn't hesitate to.

"I want you to go in." she replied simply. "I'm not setting a foot inside until I know exactly what's hiding in there."

"And what am I supposed to do? Give you a call and say the coast is clear?" Sapphire asked. So wait, she'd gotten an invite too?

"Not exactly..." Gossamer replied. "You're going to be my eyes for a bit. Anything you come across, I should be able to see."

" .....and you probably could have spelled me without me even knowing, couldn't have you?"

Gossamer grinned a bit. "Well...I needed you to get off your a** and actually go in."

"I was getting to that...now I'm not so sure I want to."

Rosie looked up at him with a bit of a frown. She certainly hopped she had a good stomach. She'd need one now. She wasn't sure if her mom would have made her watch anything like this, but...she probably would be a lot now.
She nodded, then turned her attention back to the screens.

Alex had paused in front of one of the animal dens and was looking curiously inside. Then drew closer to the entrance and paused just inside it, careful too keep part of herself outside the entrance in case she needed to jump back out.

Rosie frowned a bit and looked at the other screens, pausing on the one of the rooftop. "Hey...where'd the other girl go?" she asked, tilting her head. She didn't see her in any of the other cameras.

Rosie paused a moment in thought, frowned a little, and sank back into her chair. Her attention turning back onto the other monitors.
She could do this.....she could do this.....she could do this......




Alex paused in the doorway of the building, staring inside. She could....smell something. Animals of course, but she couldn't tell if there were any still inside, or if it was the lingering scent left behind. Cautiously, she took a step farther inside. It was too dark to really see, and her eyes needed to adjust to the dark for her to be able to see.


Shadow, meanwhile, was slipping in and out of any shadow she could. Slipping out just long enough to get a look around, then slipping back in and moving to another location. The place seemed....deserted. Utterly. She wasn't finding anyone outside anyway. Which meant if they were to find anything, they'd have to go into the buildings.
She really didn't like that idea. This place just....screamed trap.


"You're going to go in." Gossamer hissed. "I'll make sure it's the only area you can stand in where you won't feel your flesh bubble under your costume."

"Aren't we cheerful today. Why don't you just go in your self? We're all a little leery about this place. You could probably blow up anything that looked at you the wrong way. ....not that I'm suggesting it." Sapphire growled.

Gossamer didn't reply. Sapphire blinked and tried to turn her head to look back at her. That was either a BAD pause....or it was fear. Which was rare for this girl.

"Go." Gossamer said slowly. "Or you won't live to see the next hour."

Rosie looked up at Joker and gave him a little smile that she wasn't quite feeling. It...shouldn't be too bad though. She had other people she could watch for a while.



Sapphire had felt Gossamer tense up behind her when the Joker spoke. But when he called out specifically to her, the tenseness took on a whole different feel. The woman behind her just...froze. She was positive she even felt her heart stop. It had sped up when the clown first spoke, and then suddenly nothing.
Now that the blade wasn't so tight against her neck, she twisted her head back to look at the woman.

Gossamer's expression was blank, but her eyes were wide and full of an emotion Sapphire very, very rarely seen from her.

".....are you.....afraid to go in?" she asked quietly.

Gossamer didn't respond. Which, considering the fact that she should have retorted, gave her all the answer she needed.

"......If this is all for your benifit, why were we invited?"

".....I don't know." Gossamer finally replied. "I.....I just don't know."

Sapphire looked at her. It seemed like the last statement was directed towards something other than her question. "Then why don't we go in and find out?"

Gossamer hesitated.

"Alright...I've got to ask. What the hell scares you? You vaporize people that annoy you."

"......not being in control." she replied simply, snapping the blade back and away from Sapphire. As much as she wanted it to, the reply didn't sound very convincing.



Alex jumped when she heard the voice and ducked close to the corner of the entrance of the building. She stared outside, back into the room, then back out. Yep. Trap. Well this was shitty. Now what was she supposed to do? Wait on Shadow to come?


Shadow had froze next to the entrance of a fun house when Joker spoke. She grimaced when the voice announced who it was. Now she was even more determined to find where the living bodies were hiding. She had a score to settle with this clown.

Rosie's smile wavered and she looked away. Hugging the stuffed doll tightly against her and nervously rubbing her shoes together in front of her.
"...I...I guess we'll find out...." she replied quietly.

In all honesty, Joker had been three times the parent Gossamer ever had been for her. Gossamer had never spent time with her like Joker had, taken care of her, paid attention to her, taught her things, given her gifts.

But....maybe it was just because Gossamer did something when she created her.....but....she was still her mother. She didn't really want to do anything to hurt her chances of letting Gossamer actually BE her mother. She really couldn't be sure though that Gossamer would be that good of a mother. She had abandoned Joker when he needed her. Could she really do the same to her?





All of the other women stood where they were. Hesitant to move any farther, trying to think over their next move. That is....all except for Roxanne. She wanted pay back, and she wanted it now.

She glanced at the area around her, trying to find any sign of life. Still nothing. Which meant she'd have to look inside buildings. Hesitating, she glanced at the Fun House entrance beside her. She gave it a suspicious look over, then cautiously slipped back into her shadow.

The shadow crawled across the ground and slipped through the entrance and into the darkness inside.

Rosie glanced back over at him, then took a quick look at the empty monitors. "....yes?" she replied, looking up at him.
