When he spoke Amy listened, head raising briefly. Iah's words did soothe her, for the moment. She nodded quietly, tail touching Iah's for a second.
"Thank you." She mused softly, then listened to the second half. "Is that so? So you'll be staying behind during the trip? How many shamans do we have?" She asked, sometimes she forgot. She still hadn't met everyone, not yet at least.

Iah smiled glad that even if he had blurted out what he thought it still seemed to cheer amy up. He hated to see any of his friends down. He wondered how she thought she was useless just because she couldn’t see.
“Most likely, then again if Champaigne is leaving that does put me in a difficult spot. We have a bout three shamans. Two now I suppose” Iah pointed out. “However Voltaire is still in training and thus doesn’t really count and as you say the other shaman is leaving us.” Oh well he often said staying busy was good.

Smiling softly, she nodded. Iah's presence did calm her... Her head raised to where he was, nuzzling his cheek softly. Laying down, the blind vixen rested her head on her paws, tail flicking softly side to side.
She wished she could see. She really did. She wanted to see what Iah looked like, though she had an idea. Though... Raising her head the blind vixen nodded. "Iah, this may sound weird, can I touch your face?"

Iah was distracted out of his thoughts by a gentle nuzzle on his cheek. He turned to look at her wondering what had sparked with and turned a healthy shade of red. Sure he was used to random nuzzles after all he did grow up with a twin sister only at the same time this was very different.
“Touch my… ooh yes. Yes you can” Iah stated. He was a bit confused a first but he had heard from somewhere that blind foxes could form a mental picture with touch. There where ways through echolocation as well but that took years and years of studying he supposed.

Amy smiled, sitting up. "Thank you." She mused, moving to where she heard him breathing, raised her paw, and touched his face.
After moving her paw a bit she blushed slightly, setting her paw down. "I believe your handsome..." She whispered, tail wiggling. "It may seem weird but blind foxes see by touching. Before, when I could see, I'm sure I'd see you as handsome, too."

Iah smiled, even though he knew she wouldn’t be able to see it and let her reach up to touch his face. Unconsciously he leaned into the touch before moving back when Amy seemed to be done.
“Nope not weird at all. I had actually come across that bit of info when I was just wondering around, back before I met Yasashii. Ah well I wouldn’t say handsome but…” still he still felt funny when she said it. Plus if he was to say he looked weird wouldn’t that be putting Zillah down as well. “thank you.”

She nodded, poking at the ground. She had noticed him leaning into the touch, nearly blushing. Head tilting, she nodded.
"You're welcome." She replied, stretching. Sniffing the air, she smelled no one. They were still alone. Well. What could they do? "Iah, are you hungry?" She asked, head turning to where he was.

Iah looked back towards the tribe and wondered if he should go back. Then again no one was really hurt at the moment so he supposed he could still go about doing his own thing for a while.
“hungry….. well I” Iah started and then his stomach interrupted him by gurgling in hunger. “ahaha I’ll take that as a yes I am” he said with a light smile. He had always seemed to be hungry. Maybe it had to do with being blessed with shaman powers. Hmm it would definitely be something interesting to look into.

"Then lets hunt." She mused, standing. Head tilting towards him the vixen sniffed the air once more, padding off towards the scent. "I smell prey a bit away." She mewed, flicking her ear.
"I can hunt despite being blind, thanks to Boniface's teachings." She smiled briefly. A kind male who was born blind, he had helped her with her state. Now she could do things like hunt with Iah~

Iah stood up as well and nodded. After all she had much better hearing than he did. Iah wasn’t that bad of a hunter but he preferred to work mostly on healing people or on extremely bored days trying to see if he could foretell what the weather was going to be. So if Prey was in that direction he was going to take Amy’s word for it.
“See not useless. Yeah I know some other foxes would say otherwise but that’s because they don’t bother to notice things.” Iah replied. “Now off to that hunting” he smiled happier now than when he had gone down there.

Smiling slightly, Amy Waited until she was side by side with Iah, tail touching his briefly. "Thank you for the kind words, I suppose I needed them." She did, she really did. Now that Iah had been there for her she wanted to help him hunt.
Flicking her tail side to side, she heard the sounds of deer nearby, crouching down. She glanced back at Iah, or rather moved her head back, and smiled. "Ready?"

Iah was glad he could cheer up one of his friends. Amy had been down for so long that he was afraid he was never going to be able to help. Then again it wasn’t as if he was out on a crusade to help foxes either… just… “Well I am just telling you how I see it” Iah replied. He normally liked telling people the truth. It normally didn’t come back to bite you in the butt. Then again things popped up like the situation with Terra. Foxes loved to come to their own conclusions it seemed.
Iah looked up ahead and spotted the deer. He hadn’t gone after one in a while but it wasn’t to say he wasn’t used to hunting them. Exhaling a deep breath he steeled himself and shifted most of his attention onto the dear. ‘Yes I’m ready”

Nodding, the vixen crawled nearer to the deer, listening to their footsteps. Ah, if they had noticed their footsteps would have been quicker, more frantic... Tail lashing back and forth she heard breathing closer to the ground, guessing it was either petite or a baby. Quickly she slunk around the group until she was across from Iah. He could see, she was sure he'd have more time to adjust and grab prey before she would.
And so, she leapt. She landed on all fours elegantly, smoothly darting out, body hunkered close to the ground to avoid feet lashing out, and she chased at least, by her judgement, two deer towards Iah, one being the petite one.

Iah kept a close watch on Amy, not to make sure she was doing okay because he believed she could carry her own weight. No it was more because as hunting partners you should have the basic idea of what your partner wanted to do. After all you needed to make sure you could support the other encase any blunders happened.
Amy moved first darting out and spooking the deer towards him. One it seemed was just barely in the grasps of adulthood. The other was a full grown buck. Now he needed to figure out which one he was going to go after. The younger one would be the obvious choice but Iah tended not to like killing things so new to life. Obviously this wasn’t always the case and when starving Iah would take down anything. However in this instance so close to winter the buck had an impressive antler rack. Iah finally made his decision and let out a slightly grimaced sigh. If he killed the older one there would be too much meat and with the tribe scattered all over the place today carrying it back and up that huge hill would probably be the death of him. He lashed out, only a couple seconds passing from Amy’s initial spooking and grabbed on to the younger deer bringing towards the ground. Right as he latched on to the neck of his prey the older male decided it was a swell time to try and gore Iah. Hmmm there was a reason he liked eating fish instead.

When she swerved to the side she listened quietly to the movements of the deer and Iah. Ah. The heavier one escaped. No, wait. He was returning... Amy darted forward, leaping onto the larger deer that was about to attack Iah, landing her teeth into it's side. She would not kill it, instead redirect its path from Iah. When the deer let out a sound and attempted to toss her off she let go, rolling when she hit the ground, and listening until she heard the bigger one leave.
Good. That bite mark shouldn't kill it, anyway. Now, she listened to Iah and his struggle with the younger deer, lazily waiting to hear if she was needed.
