"I'll have you know, what you might be turns from now doesn't mean you can tell me what to do. What it does mean is that your wellbeing and continued survival and that of your dragon are vital to this Weyr, and you need to get your a** back to that shiny dragon of yours and stay there." Dinah didn't bother to keep her volume down, quite intentionally - if someone heard them, all the better! "Any of you sharding baby riders get hurt, it's going to be on us, so you're sadly mistaken if you think I'm going to let you go parading around in the dark."
...was the other handler seriously leaving her alone with this? Shard it!
Dinahsk did not approve of the arguing, and twined around behind her handler, calling back to Nyossk with a worried sound.

K'en too had been awaken by the low moan that permeated the halls, and it was impossible to ignore the chilling sound. Unlike some of the others though, he didn't get up right away, instead staying put and listening intently for any further sounds. He didn't hear any more moans, but after a moment or two he thought he heard the faint strains of... whispering? It seemed that some others were out and about to investigate.
You intend to join them? his dragon's voice said quietly in his mind. Whoops, he hadn't realized that the other was awake.
Not 'join' per se, but I don't think it's very wise to be roaming about the Weyr at this time of night. Especially given recent... events.
I agree. Clearly they need to be reminded of the dangers. Stromath stood up and stretched before leisurely heading for the door. Coming, Mine?
Ah, give me a moment. K'en got up quickly, taking great care not to wake his brother or his dragon as he went out with a glow basket. It shouldn't take them too long to find the source of the voices.

oooh no she didn't .. Kindra glared hotly at Dinah, her arm still linked in N'mol's, then she laughed, a somewhat forced one but still, it sounded amused "And where were your precious Whers when Kestril got murdered?" she said, her tone oozing false amusement, trying to keep her temper from showing too much "It already is on you Wherhandler, so maybe you should join your fellow and try somewhere else to search? maybe you can be useful over there" she said, her hand shaking slightly, making the glow wobble, she was angry, she wanted to be back in bed, sleeping but instead was wide awake having to deal with idiots "No ... i think we're better off searching on our own thank you very much" she said, trying to urge N'mol away from the wherhandler, and maybe somewhere a little more private if Dezima went a different way, preferably with the wherhandlers. Oh she knew that whers were very handy, and she DID avlue their skills on some level but she was pissed and wasn't going to take crap from anyone right now.

N'mol allowed Kindra to cling to him, resting one of his hands over the hand curled around his arm. Tyeth sent his pleased amusement along to his rider. This was going very well. As the girls' debate turned into an argument and a series of chastisements from the two non-riders of the group, N'mol frowned slightly-- meaning, his eyebrows came together very slightly and the usual charming smile was absent.
15-Turns-Old or not, N'mol knew his rank system. Dragonriders outranked non-riders in any circumstance, Weyrling or not. That this was a junior wherhandler just made it that much easier to decide how to handle the situation. Polite dismissal, but one that didn't leave Dinah feeling as if he was trying to be a jerk. She'd see they were capable enough if she stuck with them. N'mol rested a soothing hand on Kindra's shoulder as Nyosh spoke her piece, glad for his height, but he just observed Nyosh unemotionally and then smiled at Brynja once the testy woman was gone. That one was a full handler. Better not to anger her. Tyeth agreed.
"You're just in time." He recogized the new weyrling as being one of the female Blueriders from his Clutch, but he couldn't remember her name. He'd have to look them all up again at the next lesson. N'mol turned his attention back to Dinah as she began to raise her voice, still managing to keep his temper despite the junior handler's presumptions. Then Kindra took the argument to a new level and N'mol finally felt the need to step in, before things got too much worse.
"Kestril's murder was a great loss to the weyr, but I think the only ones who deserve the blame are those who killed her. It's unfortunate that the murder wasn't caught either before or after the crime, but we'll have to live with that." He quickly moved the conversation along, his voice steady. "I think we're safe enough in such a large group. Of course we wouldn't endanger ourselves. If anything looks like it's really wrong, we'll have our dragons bespeak one of the adult dragons," he assured Dinah. "If you're uncomfortable, you don't have to come with us, but I'm sure we would appreciate your wher's sharp skills." He gave Dezima and Brynja quick smiles and then turned it to Kindra, knowing she would be the one he had to calm the most. Obviously, this Goldrider had a sharp temper. He stored the information away for later. "Shall we?"
He led them down the hallway, leaving it up to Dinah as to whether or not she and Dinahsk were coming along. As long as the weyrlings stuck together, he was sure they would be fine. Eventually, they did come to the break in the path that Nyosh had mentioned, which brought them to a stop. N'mol's sharp blue eyes glanced from one side of the fork to the other.
"Which way, though?" He wondered aloud.
As they stood there, another moan echoed out at them, filling the hall around them, though it still sounded as if it was very faint. Although most still heard it only as a moan, Brynja's sharp hearing detected that the sound seemed to be louder with her ear turned toward the right-hand fork as opposed to the left-hand one.

Kindra continued to glare at Dinah, until N'mol spoke that was, She breathed deeply and, perhaps her wisest decision of the night, kept her mouth clamped shut of further commenting to Dinah, the woman made her blood boil. She nodded when N'mol told Dinah that they would get their dragons to bespeak an adult, and sent a triumphant smirk the way of the Wherhandler, she was, in fact, grateful of N'mol's intervention, especially when he began to lead her off down the hallway. Turning her back pointedly on the Wherhandler she gave N'mol a smile, a flash of sincerity in it making it prettier than her usual one. "Why N'mol, i never knew you were such tactician, you certainly handled that better than i did" she said, not afraid to defer to her own shortcoming there "It's just, so lonely up in my Weyr, oh i have Suunath so i'm never truly alone but there's just me in there and all of you get to have bunkmates to be around." she added, her voice now soft and very flirtatious

"How dare you!" Dinah growled, drawing back as though in preparation to strike, but this was not some spat with another Weyrbrat - this was a Weyrling, and they were not to be touched, for the sake of their ridiculously sensitive dragons. Her lip curled in disgust, but she tamed the expression before turning to the bronzerider.
"I appreciate the sentiment, but I think I have a Weyrlingmaster to find." If she went with them and something happened, she'd get it for not alerting someone...of course, if she left them and something happened, she could also get in trouble for that. But in that case, the older handler pair would probably land more of the blame.
"C'mon," she groused to Dinahsk, heading away from the group. The green hesitated and notified her handler when she caught the sound of a moan again, but she was intent on something else for the moment.

K'en and Stromath were in no hurry as they silently traversed the halls, following the sounds of their fellows as well as keeping an ear out for whatever had moaned before. They sped up only slightly once they spotted a group of moving glows, and by the time they caught up to them the moan had sounded once more. And... a Wherhandler was leaving the group? He wasn't sure whether that was a good or a bad sign. "Good evening," he whispered quietly. "Everyone here is well?" Not that there was any real reason why they wouldn't be, but... best to check regardless.
It is rather unwise to be roaming around in the dark like this, Stromath began, bespeaking the group at large. Traveling in a group or not, any number of dangers could be hiding in the night like this, and by the time one can call for help there may have already been injuries. Also, having been up late will excuse no one from tomorrow's lessons and chores, and I doubt that the Weyrlingmaster would be remotely fond to hear of such escapades, mysterious sounds or not. Our best course of action would be to seek an authority and leave the matter in their hands.
... Well, that was certainly one way to dive straight into the matter at hand.

Nyosh shook her head at the green's call back to the group. She could be utterly frustrating at times, flirting with dragonriders. It would have been nice to have the other wherpair's company. Her and Nyossk had many patrols alone; they could certainly deal with this one. She almost wished something awful would happen to that irritating goldrider. That would prove those riders weren't suited to the night. Nyosh wondered if they'd ever get over themselves and see the use in having a wherpair around with them.
It was several long minutes of hard walking before her anger calmed down. She wouldn't think about them anymore. Nyosh gave a whisp between her teeth. Nyossk tilted her head back at her handler, then looked around as asked. It all looked and smelled normal, she responded. A hand lightly touched the tip of green wher's wing as they walked along. By staying in contact, they were more attuned to each other. If Nyossk spotted something, a silent movement would alert Nyosh. They came to another junction and again she whisped at Nyossk.

The girl cringed a little not having meant to startle the goldrider. "S-Sorry!" She said in a soft voice, hand falling to the green dragon beside her. Microth merely regarded Kindra but didn't offer any greetings. She was focusing on comforting her rider. Not to mention she was trying to figure out if it was nerves that made Sunnath's snap at Hers, or if that was how this human normally was.
"I'm...sorry. Just thought that maybe you might have seen something." She murmured, taking a half step away from Kindra.
Another sound made her step closer to the green beside her. Someone else had appeared. With...was that a wher? Dezima stayed silent while Kindra spoke with the handler when yet another person appeared. At least he was a little kinder. The greenrider offered a small smile to N'mol, but it definitely lacked any cheer. She was a little creeped out by that sound and now having had the first person she found snap at her, Dezima was not jumping up to ask any questions currently.
Do not worry, Mine. You have me....and there is Larth and his! The green sent the large blue happy feelings in greeting and quickly updated him on what had happened thusfar. Hers was slightly upset and something was happening. There had been a strange sound and now they were all gathered here for the moment.
Dezima was relieved to hear Brynja's voice. She turned towards her friend and gave her a smile, moving to stand next to her. There was another wher handler here now too, it seemed. Oh and was that K'en that had just appeared as well? Dezima gave him a smile as well with a quick "Evening.", though continued to be the silent one.

((Will everyone please roll one d100 with their next post? The second clue will be posted tomorrow afternoon, after I get home from work.
Elf, a N'mol post is coming for K'en that I don't have time to do right now. XD I will get to it tomorrow, though.
The posting of clues/rolling of clue prompts will resume tomorrow afternoon around 3:30pm and will end around 4:45pm. After that, it should resume around 9:30-10pm for a short time.
This doesn't mean the event is closed, though. The more you roleplay, the further your characters get, and the more likely it is they'll have made it far enough to find the next clue!))

No midnight feasts, apparently, just some sort of stupid argument... and she had to admit, she was with the wherhandler. Something just sort of grated about Kindra. Probably the way she was clinging to that bronze-rider... (N'mol? Who had at least smiled at her even if no explanations were forthcoming) along with the way she was snapping like that. What'd she just walked into? Something dangerous...? Oh, she was all up for dangerous. Probably. If someone would just explain... and the wherhandler was heading off for the weyrlingmaster? Oh, shards, she didn't want to get in trouble... but on the other hand... a very short conversation with Larth later, who was all up for finding out what was going on and flame the consequences, she conceded that maybe it was worth it. If the weyrlingmaster actually showed up, then she could worry about getting into trouble, and thus she was happy to follow along.
Larth explained suddenly, leaning against his rider in a way that nearly knocked her off her feet before she spread her feet a little, setting her centre of gravity a little lower.
Brynja agreed, even if her heart wasn't entirely in it... although her curiosity was piqued now, and curiosity killed the feline.
He offered greetings to Microth, before turning his head to see Stromath as the pair of them came up. he said cheerfully, butting his head against Brynja's hand (well, her whole side - he wasn't a small creature) as a reminder to stroke his headknobs while she had a hand free. things are happening?>
"A-are we listening for noises like that?" Brynja asked abruptly. "It's coming from the right fork - sounds kind of like someone strangling a wherry. If the wherry was already dead. And a ghost. Haunting the halls and corridors of the weyr that murdered it forever... that's probably what's going on here. Wherry ghosts" No-one could criticise her for an attempt to cheer the situation up - she wasn't sure exactly what had just gone down, except that they were probably going to be in trouble at the end of it.

“...Uuuuuugh.” F’itz burrowed deeper into his sleeping furs and tried to ignore his dragon. he sent, expressing in vague half-asleep feelings and images that the cold was not his friend.
Brumath replied softly,
It wasn’t like Brumath to be so plain spoken and so, with another groan, the grey-haired rider clambered out of bed and sought out his clothes. Shivering both at the chill in the air and at the strange sound F’itz pulled on boots and rubbed his face before making a half-hearted attempt to tidy his hair. Then, deciding that his appearance would have to do he walked out to the ledge and climbed onto Brumath’s back.
A few minutes later the brownrider was wending his way through the corridors of the Weyr, straining his ears for the horrible howl and wishing he was still wrapped up in his furs. What he heard instead of howls was young voices arguing. Humm, so he was not the only one up and about at this hour. Quickening his pace a little F’itz homed in on the voices. If this noise was just a crowd of Weyrbrats’ idea of a joke he was going to be severely displeased; he was tired, cold even with his riding jacket on, and his left shoulder was all stiff and achy. When he rounded a corner and spotted the little crowd F’itz raised his eyebrows; seemed a wherhandler was clashing with one of the new queen riders, but at least by the sounds of it they weren’t responsible for disturbing Brumath and therefore dragging him all the way down here.
“Steady on, handler,” the brownrider said in placating tones as he approached, “I’m sure there’s no cause for you to get upset.... It is rather late for weyrlings to be out of bed,” he swept the young riders with steady grey eyes as he spoke, “but there is something to be said for safety in numbers, and I don’t suppose you would stay in bed if I told you to go back there anyway. The righthand fork then you say...” What was her name? She was the girl who’d Impressed the blue. Br... Bri?... Ah! “...Brynja? My name is F'itz, by the by. Mmh, in any case, if that is the case I suggest anyone interested in finding out what’s making that noise head come along quickly.” With this said F’itz set off down the indicated corridor, suppressing a yawn and rolling his sore shoulder. The sooner he found out what was going on the sooner he could get back to bed.

Kindra had been leaning into N'mol, clinging a little tighter in an attempt to encourage the young bronzrider to strike out, just her and him so she could.. have words ... with him but weyrling after weyrling showed up and she DID see the sense in sticking together, she just hoped they wouldn't scare off whatever was causing the noise first. She felt only slightly bad she'd snapped at Dezima, especially the way she'd cringed but Kindra wasn't in any mood to apologise ... to anyone.
She sighed when the bronze dragon, that emerged with his rider, spoke to everyone, being told off by a dragon not her own grated on her nerves but since this was a BRONZE and his rider she turned and gave him a charming smile, arm still linked in N'mol's "K'en! so wonderful to see you, Stromath is doing well i see" she said pleasantly enough, she was about to comment further when the noise came again and the bluerider....Br..something .. she couldn't remember right now what the girl's name was, said the sound had come from a certain direction. She was more than happy to ignore Stromath's speech and go in search when an adult rider showed up. Well... there went any chance she had at flirting with the bronzeriders, "Rider, we're glad to see you!" she said, feigning relief "F'tiz, i'd be more than happy to accompany you, duty draws me to find out what this noise is so that we can inform the weyr" she said, leaving her arm loose in N'mol's, the choice up to him whether he would tighten the hold and walk with her or pick someone else to walk with now.
