Syous had raised his fork again, the food on it ready to meet his mouth when he suddenly stopped as Allistar spoke. He blinked for a moment, as if he was still trying to register whether he heard his lover's words correctly. "Really? Andrew?" He said. It had been a while since he had seen her brother. Actually, it had been a while since they had made face-to-face contact with any of Allistar's family now that he thought about it. Recollecting himself, Syous simply smiled and gave a small nod. "Why would I object? It's not like I'm in his bad books or anything that I know of." He said cheerfully. "When is he coming?" He asked.

Syous took a mental note of the time and took a quick glance at the area around them. The apartment was reasonably neat, but there was still a bit of cleaning up to do to make it presentable. "Hopefully I'll be able to get a day or two off from work around then." He said happily as he continued to eat. Granted, getting days off wasn't as hard as it was having to deal with the guilt of potentially pushing his workload onto of his co-workers, but he was always happy to take over if family matters for them took priority, he was sure they wouldn't be bothered if it were him this time. When Syous finished his dinner, he slid out of his chair, grabbed his dirty plate and cutlery and took a step towards Allistar's side of the table, giving her a small kiss on the cheek once he was close enough. "Thank you love, it was delicious." He told her before heading to the kitchen to wash his half of the dishes.

Once Syous had finished washing, he saw Allistar head to the bathroom and smiled. "Sounds good to me, any genre in particular you feel like watching?" He asked. He wasn't particularly fussy about movies, although ones with lots of gore just made him feel like he lost his appetite even when he wasn't hungry in the first place. Besides that, as long as it wasn't a bad movie, genre never really ruled out any movies.

Syous let out a short laugh as Allistar dumped the responsibility of picking a movie on him, turning his attention to a cabinet by the TV. Inside were multiple stacks of DVDs that they had obtained over the years, he rubbed the back of his head. "Great." He thought sarcastically as he began to rummage through the various boxes. Before long, he heard Allistar's voice and turned his head so he could see her out of the corner of his eye. Smiling lightly as he saw her in her robe, he gave a small shrug and pulled out a copy of Moon. "I don't think we've seen this one in a while. Sci-Fi Drama I think." He said, standing slowly before heading towards the TV.

Once Syous managed to start up the movie, he walked over to the switchboard for the lights and dimmed them a little so they wouldn't reflect on the screen. Returning to the couch and sitting beside Allistar, he couldn't remember much about the movie other than the starting basics, so at least it felt a little like they were watching something new in his opinion. Once the main menu came up, he picked up the remote, stared at it for a few seconds before finding the right button and selecting play.

Although the civilised world was constantly changing, what with technology continually shifting to become faster, smaller, smarter and more efficient, stupidity seemed to be the one thing that wouldn't ever change. This wasn't a normal thought for Syous as he made his trip back home from work, but the patients he had treated today sparked it quite quickly. Apparently a party in the neighborhood nearby had gotten a little out of hand, alcohol and teenage energy never mixed well. Several had to be rushed to the clinic, wounds from the day's mistakes needing immediate attention. Most complained about the pain and the dizziness and whatnot, Syous didn't even need to ask to know that none of them would think they were at fault. The day was indeed harrowing and it took far too long to be cleaned up before ending his shift, but the Angel had a reason to endure it: Allistar, the one person he could say that he loved without hesitation. At the end of the day, it would all be worth it to be able to provide a comfortable lifestyle for her.

As he made his way up to the apartment, a smile returned to Syous' face, eager to forget about work and just relax for a little while. Allistar worked as well, but they always managed to have time between when he got home and when she left to just be the couple they had always been. "I'm home." He said happily as he opened the front door to the apartment, blinking for a moment when he found Allistar in the living not too far away, he smiled warmly as he closed the door behind him. "Sorry I'm late, hope your day's gone a lot smoother than mine." He added cheerfully as he emrbaced her lightly in greeting.

Syous smiled back at Allistar as she did, unable to help but blink when she said 'smooth' wasn't how she would describe how her day went, although the expression and tone implied that it wasn't necessarily bad. Before he could question further, he was stopped by a small kiss, followed by the feeling of her hand in his. Following beside Allistar and taking the spot next to her once they had reached the couch, Syous blinked again when she spoke. "Oh?" He said, not bothering to ask since she'd probably tell him right after. Even with his line of work, Syous' medical knowledge was limited, so when she had first told him about the odd feelings, he couldn't quite say what was going on. It didn't seem too major since it came and went , but still, it was nice to finally know what was wrong.

When Allistar broke the news, Syous froze for just a moment, that wasn't quite what he was expecting. At first, still in a bit of shock, Syous' expression gave a questioning 'really?' above anything else. It was barely seconds later that his mouth started to twitch a little, curving into a broad smile that almost didn't stop growing. "You...you're pregnant? We're going to be parents?" He said excitedly. Naturally, Syous had never forgotten the brief time at Reed's in which their future children had appeared in Allistar's dorm, giving them the knowledge that a family was on their horizon. However, as time passed, the two thought more about the present rather than future and that faithful day had been placed on the shelf, so to speak. Now that Allistar had told him, the memory came back and Syous couldn't be happier. Wrapping his arms around her, he kissed her lovingly on the lips. "Do any of the others know yet?" He asked, 'others' in this case referring to the rest of her family.

Syous' mind was racing, he couldn't stop smiling, he had only dreamed of this happening before and now it was becoming a reality. Nodding lightly when Allistar answered his question, he was a little surprised to find out that Amy wasn't already in on it, that girl always seemed to know news long before he did, not including now that is. Since it was the end of the week, Syous didn't need to be in at work tomorrow, meaning that he could join his beloved when she went to see them, it had been far too long since he had seen her family as well. He felt confident that the two of them would be able to do this together just fine, they had looked after their niece a couple of times in the past so it wasn't like they'd be going in blind. His thoughts were cut off when he felt the gentle touch of Allistar's lips against his own, he smiled warmly and kissed back. "I love you too, Allistar." He whispered to her lovingly. Unable to help himself, Syous playfully placed a hand on her stomach, grinning slightly, he knew that the baby wouldn't be kicking for a while. "Do you have a rough idea of when it'll be born?" He asked. Although they had seen their children previously, Syous couldn't help but stay in the mindset that they might not have been the only children he and Allistar had. They didn't really get enough time to ask many questions, so he didn't know whether or not the two they met were the only two. If not, were they the oldest? Syous didn't know and, right now, wasn't in any mood to get lost in thought, he just wanted to be able to celebrate this moment with Allistar right up until they broke the news to the rest of the family.
