Ah, so "tricks" was yet another word with variable definitions. Why was language so confusing? How could anyone ever hope to truly understand what anyone else was saying? But Meramo supposed he could understand the logic of keeping secrets that offered an edge in life from others. It was unfortunate, but this world could be cruel and only the most able survived.
"That seems reasonable," he replied when it looked like the lioness was waiting for him to speak again.

Aquila continued to walk as she looked towards the other lion. "Yes, I can certainly see the reason in it myself," she told him. Though, the real reason was clearly just a want of privacy- and an escape from judgements. But such were deeper topics of a topic she really hadn't meant to think of. She waited if he had anything more to say on the topic, and was grateful that he seemed to have dropped it.
They were nearing the water, though, and as he seemed to have come from that way, she was curious if he intended to follow her all the way there. In fact, she had to wonder just how long he would follow her at all. She couldn't have him tagging along forever, after all. She wasn't actively training now for the rest of the day, but she'd pick it up by tomorrow at the very least... And she wasn't very sure of how to train with someone tagging along. After all, she did have some tricks she didn't want anyone to see. "Have you already gotten a drink?" She asked the darker lion suddenly.

"Yes," he answered simply. He had drunk earlier. Not when he first arrived, but some time before this lion had come for a drink of her own. It was a simple question. One that had nothing to do with what they had been speaking of. That was okay with Meramo. It was, at least, an easy question, simply factual.
"Why are there such large water sources not controlled by prides, packs or coalitions?" he asked in turn. It was unusual. Water was the most important resource any group of creatures could have. Thus it seemed strange that there were large watering holes like this one that appeared to be in no one's territory.

"Well... Maybe just because it's too chaotic to tame?" she offered, having never given thought to this idea herself either. "if there are too many rogues near a water source, it would take a lot of work to clear them out," she said. Her line of thinking seemed pretty solid to her.
They were nearing the water hole now, however, and she was starting to become... Well, not nervous, but uncomfortable, for sure. She hoped he didn't have in mind to follow her... She was on a little bit of a mission, after all, and she was pretty sure he wouldn't be welcome at the end of it.
No, better to lose him here and not give the male the opportunity of hanging out all day into the night. "Well, Meramo, I'm going to pick up the pace and head out. It was nice to meet you," she said, doing her best not to make it seem like she was dumping him off. She did need to get moving- it was true! "Safe travels," she offered as she padded towards the water at a quickened, purposeful pace.

She did have a few worthwhile points to answer his questions. But it still seemed to him that a strong pride could, if it so chose, run off a bunch of rogues from any watering hole. But the lioness did not seem to wish to dwell on that fact.
And now, if he was reading the signs correctly, she no longer wished to speak to him. That was...expected. Most other creatures would, at some point in their exchange, seek to end it. Meramo was unclear as to why that was, but it was inevitable in his experience.
So the black lion nodded to her and went on his way to find someone else to answer more of his questions.
