Howlite's eyes, as dark as her companion's had caught on the glint of the can as she turned, instinctually, as Circe's shout [honestly, yelling before an action was never wise]. She didn't move to block the can [and get old soda on her uniform?], instead leaning out of the arc of liquid, as it splashed out upon impact.
Ilmenite spoke, preparing his weapon, and the lanky blonde found herself inclined to agree.
"Rude." Howlite informed the senshi, apparently 'Circe', before stepping away from Ilmenite, automatically moving toward her other side. Flanking her. She wanted to fight them both, then? She shifted until she could see her new 'partner's face, keeping track of him while also making the poor senshi decide which opponent to focus on.

Judging from her last encounter with both of the negas, Circe decided that Illmenite was the most threatening. As far as she knew, Howlite was soft and squishy at heart. Enough so that Howlite showed restraint and concern during their last fight. Illmenite on the other hand, Circe was less sure of. Little did she really know that either were not to be trifled with.
“So you can chase me? A game of cat and mouse isn’t so fair with two cats.” With Howlite coming in from one side, and Illmenite blocking the other, Circe had no where to run to anyways. She just had to pick which ‘cat’ has less sharp claws and try to get on the other side. Pushing herself away from the wall, Circe attempted to jab her elbow into Howlite and nudge passed her.
In theory, it was a good move. In practice, Circe failed miserably.

Howlite caught the elbow as it came at her, twisting and wrenching it around roughly, firm. Her hold was practiced, almost fluid, and she shoved Circe, hard, in the opposite direction. Toward Ilmenite and his spinning weapon.
"Monkey in the middle, then?"
Circe had started the entire confrontation, but now there was a point to be made. It didn't help that the senshi had a mouth on her.

His intent had, in fact, been to give chase when the senshi ran. The bolas spinning around his fingers were intended more as a ranged weapon than close up: they were duct tape over something heavy, though he'd never peeled away the outer layers to see what it was. Clay, potentially. Metal, maybe --
Whatever it was, when Circe stumbled forward into his weapon, she'd find out all she needed to know: bolas to the face hurt like a son of a b***h.
Ilmenite maybe didn't even intend to do it. He looked, for a moment, surprised by the strike. Then he washed it away to something more amused, instead.

Circe was twisted and jostled about by Howlite almost like she was a rag doll. She winced through the twist, her magic wasn’t that helpful against twisting flesh and bones. Neither was her beginner magic strong enough to withstand another strong blow from a Captain. When Circe was shoved forward, bolas collided against her cheek just under her eye. The faint glow she had disappeared with the whack. Circe howled from the initial pain (a pain echoed in the joints of her arm). She’d have a nasty bruise for sure.
Reacting without thinking about it, the redheaded senshi pressed both her hand’s to Illmenite’s chest and shoved as hard as she could.

Three powerful energy signatures in one place were enough to draw the curiosity of one newly awakened guardian cat. Perhaps she shouldn't have bothered once she was close enough to feel the darkness that overwhelmed the positive energy but Invidia had never been one to back down from a challenge, especially when an ally was potentially in danger.
When she finally arrived on the scene, she was glad to see that her suspicions were right.
"This isn't a very fair game, now is it?" The fluffy maine coon stared from the top of a nearby trash can, flicking her tail as she watched the scene unfold. She couldn't get to the senshi where she was sandwiched between the two negaverse officers, especially not from such a poor strategic position, but if she could entice the senshi to move just a little closer..

Circe's hands settled on his chest and Ilmenite caught ahold of her wrists even as he stumbled back a step, hauling her along with her. His expression blossomed into annoyance, and for just a flash, he looked prepared not only to mess with her but to go for some real violence. It was a strange feeling, left his tongue frozen in his mouth, a foul taste on the back of his tongue -- and the cat broke the spell, made him relax and his expression soften a little, the breath slipping out of him. Lucky for Circe, definitely, but also for Ilmenite. He probably wouldn't have been alright with killing her. Dark eyes flashed to the cat as he let go of her hands, batting them away from him, and Ilmenite raised an eyebrow. His tone was brittle, at first, slowly growing more dry, teasing. "We can hardly be blamed for that. She started it." zippedsiren Please quote or IM me when it's my turn!

"It's true, you know," Howlite's expression was all freckled charm, wide-eyed innocence as she raised a gloved palm. "Scout's honor." Of course, the negaverse captain was not a sailor scout, but it still held true enough. A senshi cat was far from a referee, however, and there was no reason to stop.
Ilmenite had released Circe, swatting her away like an irritating insect, rather than and enemy, and the female blonde took the opportunity to step forward, reaching for the senshi to throw her off balance, directing her weight over a slightly outstretched foot, attempting to toss her to the ground, out of the way. Kicking out a booted foot toward Circe's lower back, she decided to 'help' her along.
If she was smart, she'd scramble to take off, get out of there while most of Ilmenite's attention was caught by the feline. If she insisted on seeing this through to the end, however... Well. The two blonde officers would be glad that their uniforms performed their own, chaotic version of dry-cleaning, every time they powered down.

Between the two Negas, and the sudden appearance of the allied cat, it was no surprise that Circe’s had a hard time keeping up. Hearing the cat speak caught the girl’s attention most, she couldn’t help but turn her head to see the fuzzball there. It was one surprise after another. The combination of Illmenite’s strong grip and quick release of her hands, with Howlite’s swift feet, Circe tumbled down onto the dirty subway concrete. Her knees scraped on the ground. For a second, she just stayed still on the ground, on her knees and hands between the two Negas. Easy picking, if they chose to escalate matters. Or rather, easy picking if Circe refused to admit defeat and continued to pick at them. Fight or flight. A nagging sense in Sailor Circe’s head told her to run, and that there was no good in trying to provoke her enemies further. But, would she listen to it? No, not yet. For all her poor odds, the senshi was full of herself and wouldn’t give up just quite yet. “By my count, you two punks, started it when you decided to use public space for propaganda and made a subway even worse to be in than it already was.” Circe, still on her knees, turned to look back at each captain. “That, and you know, you two make for a hideous set of side-show evil twins. Your act would be better if you’d just let me rearrange your faces.” More than anything, Circe hated having to look at something ugly, and in her mind, there wasn’t much uglier then someone who was better than her. “What do you think cat, they’d look better in black and blue, right?” Though likely it would be Circe who would be the most black and blue, if she could just accept that the Negas were clearly the stronger and more equipped fighters.
