[Ren turned his face to Jove, laying his head against the boil's. Snuggling with his little brother had always been a favorite past time of his, and it seemed such a long time since he'd last done it. One of his wings lifted, then curled around the both of them, forming a cocoon of sorts, the feathers brushing against Jove's face playfully.
"Not good," Ren repeated again, his expression still slightly grumpy. "That still doesn't make much sense. You're Jove; you're never not good. Just because you're having trouble shifting doesn't mean you can't tell me that you're learning. I would've helped you. Everyone has issues, you know," he said, reaching out a finger to poke at one of Jove's freckles. One of Ren's ears flicked back, pressing against his hair, which spread out on the pillows like a golden pool.
"Does this have anything to do with the fact that you're a second year now?" he asked, and then his expression became musing, brows contracting together as he tried to piece together the puzzle. "Or maybe Baroque, even?"

The little pup huffed, and pushed the feathers off his face. "Not good," he repeated once more for emphasis. The pup was too stubborn to let Ren get his way in this one, he wasn't good at shape changing. And he didn't have issues!
He weakly ran his fingers through Ren's feathers, ears turning forward as a loose downy one fell into his hands. One little breath sent it floating up in front of him.
Batting away his brother's hand, Jove frowned. It sort of had something to do with second year, but he didn't want to admit he still couldn't be properly scary! Okay, so he had scared a stubborn little minipet. But that wasn't much of an accomplishment when he was still called a human pet in the hallways and looked like a stuffed toy. And not the creepy taxidermy kind!
Jove's fluffy ears perked at the mention of his little sister.
