Her heartbeat was so fast... Blind felt his own heart thumping in time with the doe's on instinct, until she made herself calm down. It was very comforting to know that at least one of them could handle fear. The buck was just a giant bundle of paranoia... And even the moss beneath his hooves was beginning to mess with him. When his back left hoof kicked a bleached bone, his whole body shuddered and he halted again, actually leaning against the berry-coated wall, making him whine again when the slick juices painted his side. Thank the Motherfather he was blind, else the buck would have been screaming in horror at the bloody look on his pelt, regardless of the fact that he knew the smell by heart.
"More skeletons... I p-presume... Ohh... It smells awful in here..." The buck wanted so badly to sit down, but he was afraid that if he did, a bone shard would cut him, or he would slip and break his own neck... Or he might even accidentally smack into Bird. "Bird..." The buck sighed, trying to shake the sticky juice uselessly from his body. "Could we... Perhaps... Sit for a moment? I'm afraid I can't quite handle standing for too much longer. The smells are making me a little sick..."

The doe was quick to sit with Blind as he asked, feeling almost grateful. The bones around were still eerie... but sitting almost made it worse. The moss squished against her fur as she settled down, making her shiver at the awful sensation. She was wet. And now he was, too. She glanced over at him once the sensations had finished overwhelming her, and blinked a couple times in shock. Oh, goodness. Just look at your pretty fur. She clucked her tongue as she moved her head to examine the extent of the bloody-seeming smears. It's so messy. She hated to see the blackish red liquid marring the color of his fur, in it's pretty blues, and teals and palest yellows. If it stayed in, it could stain. She couldn't let that happen, could she? "..." She wished she could ask. But the nose she gently pressed against the other side of his flank would have to do as a substitute.

And then a miscommunication happened between Blind and Bird, and shortcutt edited this post instead of quoting it because she's super dumb.
Carry on.

She tried to hold it, but she couldn't. The sharp exhale of mild irritation at her disability. She couldn't ask him properly, but his pale fur would be stained all on the one side if she didn't do something. And the hot-spring room would be far too crowded for her to safely navigate him into the water, if there was a place suitable for them to even stand. She stood, paced gently around him and settled back down, staring closely at the stains on his fur. Well, if she wasn't able to find him water, she could at least help him avoid the worst of the staining. She lowered her head again, and started grooming the smears with a swift tongue.

A wild shiver rocked through his spine at the rough tongue on his pelt, and he blinked in his personal darkness, his tail swishing with surprise. Bird was actually cleaning him..? "O-Oh, it must taste awful-- I don't want you to trouble yourself..." The buck didn't quite understand the concept of staining on his pelt. He didn't even know the colour of his own body, let alone the condition it was in... Granted, he somehow managed to keep himself very clean. The little contact with other Kimeti up until today probably played a part in that.
"Thank you..." When the doe did not cease her cleaning, he offered a small thanks, his ears pricking up to the other sounds of the older Kimeti in the room. There were a few more does and a few bucks, but for the most part, it was definitely less crowded than the other room they had been in with the bubbling pool of, what Blind assumed was water.

Truth be told, the mineral-and-dust flavor didn't exactly taste that horrid. While it wasn't any sort of tasty, it could have been much, much worse. She paused every once in a while, to look at how much was left, and where it was too late to save his fur from the fate of the fake blood. Oh, well... at least he looks to be in costume? she thought as she settled back, giving him a quick glance from nose to tail to make sure she hadn't missed any of the sticky goo. Once she had ascertained that there wasn't much more for her to do, she sat back, nodding to herself in satisfaction at her work. There, she thought, and turned her head to examine the others in the room.

Bang was thoroughly displeased. She had expected something that could scare her all she got was a few old animal corpses. The doe tossed her head back in disgust and turned her attention back to the other Kimeti; her gaze quickly landing on two nearby, a rather dashing looking buck and a pretty little doe that had just finished cleaning his coat up. Ugh, she hated does. A flicker of loathing appeared in her gaze as stared at Wings of a Bird. Wrestling back control of her emotions; she moved off silently towards the entrance and the next room.

At first, Inertia had not wanted to go. Acha were silly little things, and this one's game would probably collapse upon itself -- even though his plans usually did exactly the same thing, he thought himself smart enough to not go. But then, as he was neatly swallowing a lizard, the thought that it might be fun to see just how the whole thing fell apart crossed his mind. Immediately after came the thought that it might be fun if he made the whole thing fall apart, or at least had the chance to scare the daylights out of a few impressionable Kin And just like that, he made up his mind to go. Once he'd found his way there, late as usual, he entered the first passage to strike his fancy, and he wasn't disappointed. He peered around at all the bones, flicking his tail in amusement. Bloody skeletons. It would've been scarier had Leap First not introduced herself to him by dumping a dead bird on his head. He prowled around, figuring out the layout of the room, then concealed himself behind a jutting rock near the entrance. The next Kin to enter the room was going to get quite a surprise.

Cue slipped into the room like a shadow, no hoofsteps betraying her entrance. Well then, what did this cave have to offer?

Wings led her to the cave but a quick discerning glance proved that feathers or not, these songbirds were very much dead. Albatross didn’t understand the room. She understood it was supposed to be scary but red juices smeared on the walls and dead animals were pointless. Was this the acha’s treasure room? They were kin but foreign all the same. It was supposed to be a haunted house and spook her. If anything, she was scared. Scared at the acha’s awful taste in décor.
Head hanging low in resignation she approached the glowing skull. Fangs descended in perfect symmetry. It was some predator or rather. It didn’t matter what, death voided such importance. Upon closer inspection it was a mushroom. What if she had one for her hair? It would attract birds at night no doubt. She kicked over the skull and went about deciding the best route of removing it without smushing it.

On the heels of "bird's nest", as he'd mentally named her for now for her hair, Shiver soon caught up to her in one of the cave's side rooms. He nearly lost his balance on the slick moss as he came in, but caught himself, and spotted her fiddling with what looked like a glowing skull. It was then he noticed the 'spooky' decor of the room. His mouth dropped open slightly, but not because the sight of it was scary, but ...to be quiet honest, reminded him of home.
"Well would you look at that," he murmured quietly, and there was actually some small movement along shiver's back this time as he spoke, though hard to discern in the gloom of the room. An avid bone collector, this cave resembled his den in many ways. Well except for the red smears on the wall, which he was pretty sure wasn't actual blood.
He walked up next to the purple doe and looked down at the glowing skull, realizing finally what she was trying to extract. "Oh, a mushroom. Why didn't I think of that?" he thought aloud to himself, already planning some interior decorating when he got home.

He laughed and talked to himself. A lot. Alright then. Maybe he could be useful. “Are you familiar with mushrooms? I’m trying to get it out from the ground and put it in my hair. “ She paused to look up at him expectantly.

"The trickier part will be getting it in your hair..." he eyed her wild mane dubiously. "It seemss mosst thingss fall in there by accident..." Nevertheless, he bends down to try to grab the thing in his mouth, not seeming to think or care about any toxic possibilities. It's then a lithe head might be spotted rising up from Shiver's back, from the glow of the mushroom, before a black and orangish-red winding body follows as it wraps around his neck -- a water snake, which had been nestled amongst his back spikes -- appearing to want a better view of the situation.
Maybe he hadn't been talking to himself after all...

In and out that tongue flicked out, not quite unlike his watersnake. Seems like this buck liked to hide things, too. Albatross liked to pretend he was complimenting her hair. "Yes, it has a lot of girth to sustain objects."
Sibilant, this one, but helpful. She strained her neck out both to give the other buck a better angle and to look at his watersnake. "What's this on named? You could take the skull there for him as a second home. I can help" she whispered in a remarkably even voice. They could rob the acha a few times over before the spry little thing even took notice.

Having grasped the mushroom finally, he raises his head back up, and after a brief ponder, finds a hopefully sturdy place to plop it on (in?) her hair. "Oh, that'ss Sslither." He tilts his head to regard his snake with a smile. "Finally decided to come out of hiding, hmm?" The watersnake sways his head a bit before recoiling around Shiver's neck and sliding along his back once more.
"And I'm Shiver. Your idea ssoundss good, though he hass hiss pick at home. I collect boness and sskullss like these all the time." Sibilant, yes, and his voice and speech are somewhat low and drawn out; some find it very creepy.
