Draconis whipped around as more senshi, knights, and cats alike seemed to form a line in front of the civilian. In fact, if she hadn't been terrified for what was coming, she would've thought this rather cool. All of the good guys lining up and defending the civilians. It was rather iconic, wasn't it.
Of course, Draconis wasn't in a very heroic mood. She nodded to Celsus and little (though not so little anymore) *********> as they arrived on the scene, but it didn't distract her at all from her main purpose.
"Does anyone know what that is?" she said discreetly. She said it quietly enough that the senshi and knights would hear her, but the civilians wouldn't.
There was one pesky civilian who seemed keen on sticking to Camelot's side. She would just be a hinderance. To Harmony she shouted, "Hey! Back off okay? Go hide and protect yourself. You'll just be in the way." Sure, it was a bit harsh, but she really would hurt herself and others if she stuck around for very long. Draconis was already aware of the patrol group of civilians that set out and got themselves killed. She wouldn't have anymore casualties.

Camelot looked around to see Celsus and Hesperis. He worried for the young Pages, but of course he was worried for every rank of senshi or knight. No one was safe or strong enough to be free of danger.
"Stay with the other civilians, Harmony," Camelot said once they were close. He put his hand on her shoulder, then kneeled a bit in front of her so they were eye level. He put his hand very gently on her cheek, reassuring her with a touch. Or so he hoped. His green eyes were strong and focused, but never lacking in warmth.
He didn't smile, but his expression remained gentle.
"You'll be safe with them, as best as we're able to keep you. This is going to get very dangerous, and very scary. But I will fight for you. I will defend you, and no matter what happens, remember that your mother is at home. She loves you, and is waiting for you. We have to get you back there. Don't do anything reckless. Now go, and don't worry about me. Let me protect you, and help me do it."
He let her go then, pushing her lightly in the direction of Leo's voice, though Draconis surprised him. He nodded his head slowly, agreeing with her, though he imagined his version was a bit less of a blow. Hopefully Harmony would still see the reason in his and the senshi's worry.
Grant saw Felicia and moved to her, taking her hand when she got close. It was on instinct, to comfort her and to make sure she didn't wander off a cliff or something. There were no cliffs to wander off of, but the metaphor didn't matter. He was there for her, and he would remain there for her.
"You'll be okay," he said, meaning it more than ever. Believing it more than he should. And smiling.

Raven had soon joined the group that was forming, staring up at the shape in the sky that grew larger and larger. She had a lump in her throat and drew in a shaky breath, clenching her hand into a fist. This was is. She really could feel it. She heard Leo shout that civilians should go towards the back of the group, and she found that she agreed with him completely. She…didn’t want to die, but didn’t want to be a coward either.
Blue eyes scanned the ever growing crowd and looked for someone to stand with, a friend to protect, to make sure stayed safe. It didn’t matter who, Candice, Mary, Jett or Darwin. She just wanted someone. Wanted to hold their hand and have that reason to fight. That reason to fight to stay alive. Well, that reason beyond…wanting to stay alive in the first place. She saw Camelot, that old man from before and sighed. Old people…really shouldn’t be fighting. That was dangerous. Older people should be home playing old people games…like chess or something. It didn’t matter if he was special, he was still older.
The senshi were gathering like flies, but…for some reason, Raven didn’t think they’d be able to save everyone. No, they had proven that when they let some people die. It didn’t matter their intentions, they still let them die.
She could only trust herself and her friends now.

Another roar shook the road beneath their feet. The gigantic, wraithlike beast drew ever closer until its face was pressing straight up against the barrier that separated it from the hapless civilians and defenders of Order trying to protect them. Its eyes blazed with a palpable hunger... acid-green and glowing red, each one was the size of a bedroom window. Its entire head was the size of a small house. Negaversers and Dark Mirror senshi were perched on it like a swarm of strange symbionts, waiting. The Great One raised one massive, angry claw, and thrust it out towards the barrier. It tore like a knife through stretched cling wrap, shreds of the magical shield floating away and evaporating from the touch. As soon as its foreleg had broken through, causing the ground to shudder again, its passengers were already rushing in. Quote: BOSS BATTLE!! HOW TO PLAYFor Powered Characters:Sailor Senshi, Knights, Negaverse and DMC take different actions concerning the boss depending on what side they're on. If you're fighting for Order you can attack it, and if you're fighting for Chaos you can defend it! To ATTACK: Senshi and Knights can roll one d10 per rank to deal damage to the boss! This means you roll just one if you're a Page or base senshi, but you can roll TWO if you're at the second stage and three if you're at the third. Royals can roll four!
To DEFEND: Negaverse and DMC can roll one d10 per rank to deflect damage. The breakdown is the same as above!
Guardian cats can roll 1 d10 if they are in cat form and 2 d10 if they are in human form.
Powered players can roll to deal or deflect damage every 30 minutes. You can RP and fight normally in between your rolls, though!
Attack spells and magic energy are replenished two hours after use. Civilian Characters:You are not safe and may be killed at any time.In order to survive you must try and evade those that are trying to cause you harm. This is not only the giant monster looming over the Surrounding but the Negaverse officers and DMC senshi that have broken through. It does not matter how many bad guys attack you, you only roll one d20 in every 10 minute period. For example if someone attacks you, two minutes later another person does, and then a third inside the same 10 minute period, you only roll one d20. After ten minutes have passed, if attacked, you must roll again.
If you roll a 1, 10, or 20 you have died and become gold dust. You instantaneously join the fray as a ghost!
Regardless of if you are attacked or not you must roll a d20 every hour while your character is in play. If you are gone for whatever reason (RL, dinner, etc) you simply roll for the hour when you return. You do not die if you are not here to roll! Ghost Characters:You are not forgotten!Fused with the Surrounding you have the rare ability to potentially wreak mischievous havoc on everyone inside. Good guys, bad guys, it's up to you who you think is most responsible for this mess and who you want to punish. Unfortunately, your power is limited. You may only mess with the road of the Surrounding. Tripping people, making a square foot tremble because you are underneath, making a patch slippery, all little things that make the game just a little more interesting. No actual offensive harming can be done by those in the road!
Because you are dead and your power is limited you must roll a d4 to determine success.
If you roll a 4 you are successful! A 3 is minor success and anything lower is failure.
You may do this twice an hour but otherwise interact with the other ghosts. There will be more to join you soon! BATTLE START!!!

Hesperis noticed Camelot's green eyes meet her own, and she made her way toward him, weaving her way around the others. She figured the old man would feel better if she was close to him, on some level.
She wouldn't admit it, but she'd feel better being near him as well.
"Nice shield you've got." She tapped it lightly with the tip of her staff. Her voice lacked some cockyness, some of what made Hesperis, well, Hesperis - it sounded alien, almost, like it belonged to someone else. "Really to use it ?"

“We have all worked hard, my brothers and sisters.”
The voice sounded young, and certainly did not belong on a battlefield, on the head of the black-boned beast, and yet this was where it had come from. It took a moment before the owner of the voice had been spotted – standing as tall as she could in between the beast's horns, arms crossed, the very definitition of defiance.
Some of the senshi might recognize her, through mostly under another, less elaborate uniform, and without the aura of a general attached. To her left was a sightly taller figure that some might also recognize, overskirt thorn to shreds and uniform covered in elaborate, dark stars. A senshi, the general's senshi for the look of it – taken, twisted, corrupted.
Those two were probably the last thing Sailor Aster wanted to see.
“We have worked hard, we have gotten far, and now our hard work has paid off. Behold, the surrounding. The cage in which the senshi have tried to trap us within. We will not let them.” She was the picture of passion barely restrained. The words came flowing freely, and Fluorite saw no reason to hold them in.
She was a general of the negaverse. This was her job.
“Tonight, we fight as one, tonight we fight for our freedom and the freedom of earth. It will not be an easy fight, and some of us... Might not return. But we will honnor the sacrifice of those who might fall today – tonight. They will be the greatest of the negaverse's heroes.”
“Tonight, we will be victorious.”
Then, her voice lost all of the warmth it held, rose in volume.
“SENSHI.” She screamed. ”KNIGHTS. DID YOU THINK WE WOULD NOT NOTICE ? DID YOU THINK WE WOULD SIMPLY ALLOW YOU TO DO THIS ?” Her tone was cold, downright mocking. ”THIS WILL NOT COME TO PASS. PREPARE YOURSELVES.”
She moved, one gloved hand pointing to the battlefield as a pair of large, elaborate katars formed in her grip.
“TONIGHT YOU FALL. NEGAVERSE, STRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE ! FOR CHAOS !” She roared, much like a mythical amazon.
Alunite might as well have been born for this instant, as far as he felt. His heart was pounding, adrenaline was rushing though his veins, and the fight hadn't even begun.
To think he had come so close to refuse Tanzanite's offer, to give up what he now felt had been his fate all along. Of course, he was now well aware that his choices, back in that chilly spring night, had been corruption or death.
Fluorite did not need to say her order twice – he jumped and rushed in.

((Gilbert's defense roll!))
It was just one thing after another, wasn't it? One goddamn thing after another. If he wasn't being attacked by frankencake, he was being mauled by angry demon-dogs from hell, and if it wasn't that, apparently it was something big and angry enough to blot the stars out from outer space. Either that meant they were facing something really ******** big that was really close, or something was wrapping around this entire Surrounding place like a cocoon.
Neither option was appealing. The fact that he could hear the rumble, hear the voices, from inside the infirmary?
Well, Gilbert Hennessy had never really considered himself a coward. Not a lot scared him. He looked out for himself, yeah, and if you gave him an option to save his own a** definitely or help someone out and save himself maybe, he was going to go for the former. He didn't consider that cowardice; that was just plain self-preservation. Still, as he stood there, bandages still wrapped around his legs -- and those marks were going to scar, weren't they? -- he felt real fear.
This time, he might actually die. He knew he'd been lucky, to an extent. Survival instincts were one thing, and running for the door at the right moment, well, that was just a reflection of his training and his will to live. Finding the end of that maze after that hellhound had gnashed his leg? That was more luck than skill. But this?
Standing outside, looking up as the stars winked out one by one, he knew. No amount of skill was going to get him out of this.
A girl, couldn't have been more than nineteen at the most, gripped his shoulder and pulled him back. She was tanned, which was a strange combination with her powder blue hair, and she was glaring at him.
"Go hide!" She pushed him, a little roughly he thought, for someone her age and the fact that he was still bandaged. "You can't fight. You're just going to get in the way and be a burden. Go find somewhere to hide, like, during an earthquake. Because s**t is going to start falling down."
With that, she darted out, charging straight into the pool of people gathering outside.
It was strange, but... Gilbert felt, for the first time, a bit of shame. Shame at protecting himself when girls half his age would run into the thick of battle, would risk all for people they didn't know. It was stupid, he reminded himself. They were just sending themselves out to die. But still..
You're just going to get in the way.
True. He couldn't fight these things, not like the rest of them could.
Still he hesitated a moment, and then another chorus of voices rose. He couldn't tell if it was the good guys or the bad guys -- s**t, this was like... this was like a war movie, this was like...
But it didn't matter, did it. He pulled back, glancing around for somewhere to hide, and he backed away and sought shelter.
And if he was a little ashamed, there weren't many people around to witness it.

Ricky Cunningham was in his bunk at the Virgo Outpost, ending what he believed to be a much-deserved nap. As he slowly rose out of bed and wiped the sleep from his eyes, he noticed through his window something gravely unusual happening over at the Chronos Outpost. s**t. They had been warned something was coming. This must be it!
He lifted his pillow and grabbed his weapon, powering up to the Troy Page of Chronos as he hurried out of the room, charging out of the Outpost and onto the path of the Surrounding. As a Zodiac Knight, he was capable of running along the path of the Surrounding at super speeds, and he rushed to the Chronos Outpost within seconds, charing into the Outpost and began to search for his Princess.

Leo did 23 damage!
There was no time to mourn for the integrity of the Surrounding. It was broken, at least in part, and weak elsewhere; he had known this from the moment he set foot back on it again after so many years, and it was obvious now. Though anger and shame welled up inside him in equal measures, he was forced to set his sadness and his shame aside, focusing solely on his anger to propel him forward. Leo was rarely angry, rarely indulged himself enough to be truly moved by aggression and temper, but he could see nothing else.
He was furious.
The Negaverse was wasting no time moving forward; he would not waste time, either. He was reckless with his body on a good day, but in the midst of chaos and war, there was no time to think about himself. He knew what he was capable of, and he knew there were still civilians present who would be taken down in an instant, slaughtered without thought or remorse if the opportunity presented itself. He flung one arm out, gauntlet striking a civilian hard on the shoulder, and he shoved them back and behind him.
Yeah, it probably hurt. Being hurt was better than being dead.
He flung his left hand up, gathering energy and propelling his arm forward, as though the motion would somehow make his attack stronger. The disadvantage to Leo's beam was that he had to be close, very close; he was close enough to engage in direct combat with a Negaverse agent should they come at him, and he didn't care.
Light erupted from his hand, strong and bright, no doubt blinding those who were unfortunate enough to look directly at it as he summoned his magic. Glittering and radiant, it shot from his fingers and into the monstrous youma's face, burning a path down it as something caught him from behind and forced him to stumble, his hand jerking and redirecting the magical blow as he went.
Hardly enough to take the beast down, but he'd done damage.

Obvious Draconis was not up on bedside manner. Her words made Harmony frown, bristling at her lack of tact or empathy. So what if she was powered. Harmony was scared and alone and the only person she knew she was now being told to shy away from. Not very comforting and rather rude. She gave the offending person a look before Camelot caught her attention again. She let him meet her eye and nibbled her lower lip, tears catching in her eyes. She reached out and threw her arms around him, hugging him close.
"Don't die." she whispered, her only demand. "Just don't die. I'll see you again. Promise me."
But then she moved away from him. If he could be brave so could see. And if he could protect her, she could do some good, too. She'd keep people calm, even if it was a lie, and she'd help keep people together, united. Which served her intense desire not to be alone. She didn't know how long this noble streak would be with her but she felt kinda good about it. She moved toward the condensation of civilians and moved among them. She recognized Grant from when they first arrived and grabbed him.
"Hey! Help me keep people together. We have to try and keep everyone calm." Though he seemed to be doing that on his own. She shrugged and followed his lead.

(Camelot does 9 damage. Like a boss.)
Camelot nodded his head and let Harmony run off, wondering if the feeling in the pit of his chest was akin to one he would have felt if it was his own son in the middle of things. Thankfully, Nathan was blissfully unaware of these things back on earth.
When he got home, Tony had a lot of things to make up to his son. Or rather, if he got home. It wasn't his main goal at the moment, he realized. It was simply getting everyone else back to Earth, his planet, where they belonged.
He turned, looking at the beast as it attacked.
"As ready as I'll ever be," he said to Hesperis, looking at her keenly and with confidence and courage. He had to trust in her, though what he wanted to do was hide her away with all the civilians as well. It never left his mind, how young she was, and how unfair it was that she, and all the other children and teenagers, had to be involved in insane things like this.
With that, he charged, shield swinging immediately for the closest target. It wasn't his style, out right attacking, but at the moment every single movement he made was in defense of someone. He had to do whatever was necessary, without pushing himself beyond his own moral lines. And he would do what he could.
He had to.

With a quick glance cast to Themis, Bellatrix gave a tight-lipped smile before leaping in to battle.
She knew the battle was just beginning, best to conserve her magical attacks, such as they were. Instead, she leapt towards the Youma's face and delivered a punch, aiming for an eye. However she could only assume it was more of an annoyance than anything. Like a fly, or a gnat.

Magellan did 13 damage!
Having barked at some civilian or other to stay back and out of the way, Super Sailor Magellan dove out into the fray like she'd been born to do it. She fricking owed the Negaverse one for all the times she'd almost been killed, for all the times she'd been hurt and people she cared about had been attacked -- she wasn't going to let them just stomp on the Surrounding and throw their weight around, not this time. Frankly, it pissed her off that her magic was useless in a practical fight, but once she got close enough to some of those bastards to be of use --
She was going to ******** choke them with powder. It might not have been much, but she knew she could seriously mess them up for a few moments if anything, and that was what she was here for. Goddamnit, she was useful, and she wasn't going to take this s**t lying down.
Darting between confused civilians, scared civilians, and people already engaging in battle, she breezed past Leo and flung herself at the youma's face, driving her boots into it as hard as she could. Not the smartest idea -- someone flicked her off and back, and she hit the ground hard -- but it was a testament to her bull-headed, downright stupid determination that she got right back up again and threw herself into the fray.
Realistically, this thing was going to try to kill every goddamn one of them. Magellan wasn't going to let that happen. She certainly wasn't going to stand back and wring her hands while other, more flashier senshi got in there and beat the hell out of it, either.
Earth was her home too, and she'd rather break every bone in her body than sit back and let someone else fight her battle.

(Grant is not gold dust!)
Grant looked surprised when Harmony grabbed on to him, and nodded his head. He would help, because he was asked to. And more than that, now, he knew he had to.
"Everyone stay together! And away from the fighting! If you can! I don't mean to be rude or order anyone around, of course, and there are probably better ideas out there. Does anyone know anything about fighting or...?"
He looked toward Gilbert. He was a police officer. He knew what he was doing. Still clinging to Felicia, Grant's wide, doe eyes lingered on the man who usually got paid to keep them all safe.
Was it unfair to expect so much out of him now? Yes. And Grant felt terrible about it immediately. But maybe if he had an idea...
