Doom looked over her shoulders casually to see if Lull followed. She eyed the other doe speculatively. Lull could easily blend in with the swamp during dusk to twilight hours. And the doe seemed to have the no-nonsense air about her. Doom was curious about the other doe's hunting abilities. She was lost in her own thoughts when their paths crossed.
Hello, boar.
Instincts took over and she rushed after it. "Come on," she yelled to the rest of the hunting group. Spook came in from the outside, fast on the boar's heels.

Feathers had ruffled along her hound's spine, clearly it had caught a scent. She inhaled sharply -- not that she could dream of smelling half the things the canine did -- in the slim hope of catching if it was prey or not. Of the aromas, there was nothing definite. She had decided it might be wise to see the orange-haired doe had any specific target in mind when she saw the boar.
She bit out a sharp, "Sic," to her eaglehound before rushing after. The cheetah would likely have them all beat on speed, unless it was a long lasting chase, but her dog would have weight on its side. She kept her attention focused on the boar even as she thought of the easiest way to fell it -- although with such a pack after it, it wouldn't be alive long.

Numbers were on their side. Combined stealth and intelligence, well at least on her team's part, the odds were looking favorable. The merry little group chased afte rthe boar until it reached a clearing before a stream. Spook was already ahead with Doom, Lull and her hound bringing up the rear. Doom slowed to an easy gait and began to really enjoy herself.
"Ready?" she asked Lull. But the eaglehound answered for them.

Lull almost snorted at the question. Instead her eyes sparkled in amusement, "Always for a hunt." This was free and exhilarating and fun.
The clearing ahead boded well, no place to hide and relatively little interference. Style aside, it all seemed that it would be easy.

The boar was forced to backtrack where Doom, Lull and the eaglehound were waiting. Doom waited patiently, not indulging in the waters nearby. The boar twitched its ears. It had made its decision.
The boar lunged between the two kimeti, hoping its small form would be harder to pin-down. Doom lunged for the throat, teeth connecting, blood dripping.

The boar's lunge had set off alarms in her head. She reared, throwing her weight forward, and coming down with front hooves onto the animal's back. The front edges bit harshly into the flesh though in the frenzy it was hard to tell if the spine had been hit.
From behind, Eyes Wander had snapped her jaws onto the boar's back leg and refused to let go. A low steady growl emanated from the hound, as her eyes shot to both kimeti as if to ask, is it dead yet?

Whoa whoa whoa. Those hooves came a bit too close to Doom's face for her liking. The impact of Lull's land forced her bangs to whip back. Her eyes blinked and she heard an audible crack. And a growl. She looked at the bleating boar's face. Spook ran up, sniffed and yowed its approval as the boar finished its final twitching.
Definitely dead.
Doom stepped back and inspected their handiwork and lipped her bloody lips. Hmm, "Good teamwork" Spook was already in the waters bathing. She looked longingly.

As the boar's body went limp the hound unclenched its jaws.
"Good dog," the doe complimented the dog before turning her attention to the other kin. "A nice result, I'd say," even as she thought how unorthodox the entire thing had been to her.
The other doe seemed intently focused on the stream and, as her own heart was still beating excitedly within her chest, she thought parting ways had come. The doe and cheetah could have the boar, she felt like hunting her own meal now.
"Enjoy the meal, won't you?" She nodded her head and began to move away, humming at the dog when it seemed reluctant to move away. She turned to watch it slink -- practically moping -- to her side, throwing a smile to the doe, "I'm sure I'll be seeing you again!"

She smiled to the disappearing forms. "I'll be seeing you soon. I'm sue Gloom will be there next time."
She was bloody already. Efficiency demanded she eat before bathing. Don't mind if I do.
