He enjoyed hearing that laugh from Evan. If you could make someone laugh they were well on their way to becoming a good friend after all! He leaned over Evan's shoulder to peek at the fridge when it was opened. Wow..that was a lot of food. His eyes darted around the kitchen. "Big family?" He absently asked. He usually knew the signs of a large family, after all he was one of them.
Percival was disappointed, but only to a minor degree, to learn that there was no lemonade in the fridge. Yet he was pleased and somewhat grateful that Evan was taking the time to get him the items he needed to make some. The grin on his lips spread wider when he looked at the ingredients and measuring cups. Percival didn't hesitate to step up to the counter. With quick sure hands he started to slice up some lemons. "Thanks, would you like me to make you some?" Percy cast a glance at Evan as he continued to slice the lemon up. He could do this in his sleep if he had to, the amount of hours he had spent measuring and cutting and grinding the ingredients. He wanted to ask Evan for some of his favorite tools for making the drink mixture. Like a pastel and mortar so he could grind the sugar up into a finer quality. Not quiet powdered,a s that always made the lemonade cloudy. But just a finer grain so it could be absorbed easier. or maybe some fresh mint leaves!
Instead he ran some hot water into a small cup and added the sugar to it so it would dissolve smoothly. He added a tiny pinch of salt to another tablespoon of hot water, then mixed in the lemon juice into some cold. Carefully he mixed the three different mixtures and sniffed at the lemony scent that came from the batch. "Mmm...smells like springtime."

Evan watched the boy in amazement. He always loved to watch people cook and create things but had no real talent for it himself. He'd probably manage to burn the lemonade.... Somehow. "No, it's only my mother and me." He answered Percival's question with a shake of his head. "My mom must have something planned that she didn't tell me about." He rolled his eyes, just wondering what sort of thing his mom was going to do that most likely involved him doing something to help.
"I'd love some~" It was like magic the way he mixed the ingredients. A real seasoned pro at making lemonade. He obviously wasn't joking when he said that he loved it. Evan was just glad to be there to enjoy him making the concoction. Why warm water? He thought before he remembered he had learned in school that some things dissolve better in warm water than cold water. He would have never thought of that. "Springtime?" Evan smelled the lemony air, and while it did remind him faintly of spring, it also reminded him of that stuff used to clean the floors. "Yeah, it does smell like springtime." He kept his other comment to himself. "Is it ready?" He was getting a little antsy, hoping to taste Percival's mixture.

Hmm. Well sometimes the signs could be wrong? Percival merely smiled as he mixed the components a bit more. "Well whatever it is, looks like there will be a lot of people involved." He said with a light note to his voice.
Percival drew some glasses closer, and expertly poured the drink into the pair. Maybe he ought to look into getting into being a bartender after school? Nah..all he'd ever want to serve was hard lemonade, he didn't think that would make him very popular at all. Percival turned and offered Evan the second glass. "You bet it is. Take a taste and tell me what you think." Oh sure, he expected to receive a 'good' comment. It was only polite yeah? Percival let his eyes wander around the kitchen as he imagined how much more chaotic it would have been had his family been around. "I do like your house. Your kitchen makes me want to start cooking. Maybe it's all the food stocked up." He added before sipping his own drink.

The blond haired boy smiled and took a sip as he was handed the sweet smelling elixir. It took him a moment to say something. In fact, before he replied with how good it was, he had to take another sip. "You really should sell this stuff." He looked up at Percy with a smile. "It's better than any store brand I've ever had."
Evan looked around the kitchen as his friend had done. "Oh thanks!" He took another sip of his lemonade. "It can be pretty quiet around here when my mom's out. It's fun to have someone else over. But I wouldn't touch the food. My mom would probably freak." He gave Percy a big grin before looking at the time. "Oh... Did you need to leave son? I did pull you from what you were doing..." He took this chance to refill his glass.

Percival nursed his glass of lemonade. He enjoyed the moment of silence as Evan enjoyed sampling his little mixture. When the other would mention selling it, he couldn't stop but give a small laugh. "I'm sure it is...but I really have no interest in selling my lemonade." He held his glass up and critically eyed the color of the drink.
"I want to make the perfect recipe of lemonade. It'll be my special secret that I can pass on down to my children." He glanced to Evan with a little grin. "Silly huh? I only want to make it perfect to share at family picnics and get-together's and things like that. " Percival paused and glanced around the kitchen once more. He wondered if the quiet comment was some sort of hint or suggestion that Evan would have liked company more often. Percy took a few deep drafts from his cup, emptying it before setting it back on the counter.
"I should finish my run. I want to get to the showers before the 'rush' as it were. I don't care to shower when it's busy. I feel creeped out still." With a little grin, he watched Evan refilling his glass. "Maybe save some for your mother. Maybe she'll invite me over for dinner and I can make some more." He suggested with a teasing grin.

"I guess I'm all about the money." He rubbed the back of his head, finishing the last of his second cup. "And it isn't silly! Dream big! Do what you want." He nodded with the wises look he could pull off.
Evan gave a small sigh, nodding to Percival. "You're right. She'd enjoy some and would probably love for you to come over and make some more." He smiled, turning to put away the pitcher in the fridge. "But you will have to come over again. I have a few board games that I never get to play. And video games can be more fun with more people." His grin widened, walking the boy to the door. "Finish up soon then! I'll be sure to see you around at school!"

Percival wandered towards the door, though he didn't wait for Evan to open it for him. Pulling the door open himself, he stepped outside and knelt down. he made certain his pedometer wasn't going to come loose again, speaking as he did so.
"Sounds like a plan to me. I'm sure my folks would appreciate a break in my school billing of my meals. I gotta warn you though, I'm like a piranha. I'll eat everything set in front of me. Even Brussels sprouts." Percy paused and glanced up. "Well..I guess that would make me a mutant piranha technically, but you get the idea. I'd love to come hang out. Just...on a weekend maybe. So I don't have to be back tot he dorm by a certain time."
With a bat of his green eye, Percival stood up and gave a wave at Evan. "Stay sharp man, enjoy the lemonade, and see you around!" He ever so cheerfully called before hitting the sidewalk to finish his run.
